As the embodiment of chaos, Discord was never going to be a simple addition to the daily lives of your average Equestrian. While he did eventually kinda reform, and potentially started a relationship with Fluttershy, he was still causing trouble right up to the end.
Would there have been a point in the future where there would be no chice but to once again lock him away? A prank that went too far, or the loss of Fluttershy sending him down a darker path? Was it worth keeping Discord around despite his near godlike power?
