who/why - Mulberry Twist, a unicorn from ponyville, moved in canterlot for a change of scenery, chose the costume because she likes the idea of preserving bodies through mummification
OC Name: Lunar bloom

Costume: Dib membrane from invader zim!!
How/why did she choose this costume?: originally she was going to go as starswirl the bearded, because of her obsession for creating new spells, but, then she thought of instead being a witch, since she appreciates creating magic out of ordinary everyday things (or just having an excuse for planting flowers & weeds) but then she landed on an akward big-headed teen who likes investigating the abnormal and constantly annoying a green alien that's trying to dominate the world, because- hes a cool dude! And he has GLASSES!! GLASSES are COOL!! not NERDY AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!! So, she decided to sew together his shirt and jacket from some old blankets. She was ready to go to trick or treat like a totally normal sane mare, but, last minute she realized she didn't have dibs hair thing(?? So she just cut out a piece of paper with a similar colour to her skin and taped it to her horn in a hurry. (I actually added that last minute to the art piece lmaoo)
OC Name: Star PI
Race: Alicorn (originally Earth pony)
Costume: Dragon Rider
Who: Star Pi was originally an earth pony who was shunned with no cutie mark to call her own. With help from the Cutie Mark Crusaders she was able to get a temporary cutie mark of a smattering of stars: meaning her fate is still in the stars. Her destiny was coming to terms with this and many other inner/ outer demons allowing her to gain the title of "The Dauntless Princess." She was tutored in the magic of dreams by Luna and was able to find a spell to rearrange the stars into constellations. Star is still trying to make new friends but finds it hard to keep the demons of the past at bay. She chose this costume after she learned about the dragon riders of old.
OC Name: Steel Heart
Race: Unicorn
Costume: Magneto
A unicorn who makes up for his distinctly average magical talent with unrivaled determination to demonstrate his worth, and a psychological need to pave his own destiny. Whilst his ferocious dedication to continuous self-improvement is both impressive and admirable, other ponies can't help but feel nervous when he talks about things like 'unlocking the magical secrets of the universe so that nopony can possibly challenge me ever again' and 'crushing everypony who tries to stop me'
Given the difficulty he faces with more advanced magic, Steel has learned to optimise the magic he can use to eke out any advantage he can. His telekinesis in particular is especially potent and refined, which he uses for all kinds of things, from tearing the earth apart to create impromptu staircases, to throwing balled-up paper at people to get their attention.
For his part, Steel is borderline incapable of understanding why other ponies might find his relentless pursuit of power dangerous. As far as he's concerned, they want to force him to become a cog in the machine that he wants no part of, and if they're going to try and stop from gaining more power, he'll just have to get more, faster, so that they can't. He fails to see the inevitable self-destructive spiral that will result from this attitude.
Because of this warped point of view, he's a big fan of the character Magneto, whom he sees as an affirmation of his views of using force to defend himself from what he sees as unfair persecution, plus he thinks using magnetism to throw metal at people is pretty darn cool. He has somehow managed to miss the fact that Magneto is generally considered a villain.
OC Name: Caveman Pony

Costume: Royal Guard
Who/Why:
It's still a bit early for Halloween, but Caveman Pony already tries out his custome. His costume is a royal guard uniform. To make it authentic he borrowed it from Swift Sword (don't tell the guards it's an actual uniform - i don't think they'll like it if it gets handed out just like that).
About Caveman Pony: He's an earthpony from the stone ages. That's why one of his tooths sticks out. When Starlight Glimmer went to far back in time when she modified Starswirls spell to destroy Twilights friendships, she didnt get the spell right the first few times. At one point she ended in the stone age and Caveman Pony followed her through the portal to our time without her knowing. Eversince he's adapting to the modern ages and became friends with Swift Sword, who he lives with. During his time in the present he had quite a lot of adventures during the NATGs. He also (re)invented the wheel! One of his hobbies is collecting stones. But not just any stones: they're the stones of HIS rock from his original home. Over the time it get severly damaged and the rock splitted into lots of small stones.
On a sad note: Time doesn't take it lightly when you mess with it. At one point a time-portal opened on it's own to suck Caveman Pony back into his own time, to make sure everything stays where it belongs. Starlight Glimmer managed to get him back to our time and exchanged him with a clone that would stay back in the old times. Don't worry - this clone was conjured without any connections to our time, so Caveman Pony should be save now!
OC Name: Acid Volt
Race: Pegasus turned Alicorn
Costume: King Sombra
Bio:
Acid Volt has a dark and tragic past and took his alicorn status by force, leaving him unable to actually perform magic. In this version of his story, he has been able to overcome what he's done in the past and worked to become a better pony. Having come to understand the present along with the return of princess Luna, he couldn't help but put on a costume for Nightmare Night!
With a little bit of dark humour and the love of a good prank, his costume is King Sombra. He thought his horn fit very well and the idea of humouring his old evil ways seemed fitting for the holiday inspired by Nightmare Moon. The cape hides his metal wings especially well.
OC Name: Sparking Gem
Race: Unicorn
Costume: Frankenstein
Who/Why: Sparking Gem is an electric unicorn, similar to Opaline Arcana, who is a fire alicorn. Because she’s very energetic and restless, as if she were awakened by high voltage, she would dress up as Frankenstein due to the connection of being brought to life by a lightning bolt. The most important part is that one of her greatest fears is lightning, with all its loud sounds! Naming herself Sparkenstein!!!
OC Name: Pomel d'Terre
Race: Earth Pony
Costume: Yzma
Who: Pomel was left as a baby at the doorstep of one of the branches of an Apple family. She was raised in a fine Apple tradition, but still got a potato as her cutie mark. She specializes in the plant breeding — crossing apples with other fruits, vegetables, minerals, insects, and whatnot. Her most famous variety is Earth Apples. Most infamous is a crab-apple hybrid, some offspring of which still roam Equestria despite the Royal Guard's best efforts.
Why: The Incas are believed to be the first ones to cultivate potatoes, having thousands of cultivars, so Southern Equestria has always been of great interest to Pomel. And who's better to represent the region and its progressive transfiguration practices than Yzma?

Who/Why: Octopus pony that enjoys reading, tea, potion making and shell searching. I decided to go with this for a costume because I thought her lower half would go good with the different design scheme.

Bio: Azure is a failed Alicorn clone from a strange little AU, who despite a tumultuous upbringing has never lost her nearly infinite, borderline delusional reserves of hope and optimism. She's still convinced she can finish the process they screwed up and become what she feels she was "meant" to be, and after attaining some limited success knew she had to incorporate flight into her Nightmare Night costume. Being a (self-declared) symbol of hope herself, and a bit of a dweeb for comics, she worked with her boss to make a big splash this year as SUPERMARE, even if she knows deep down her questionable origins give her more in common with Superfilly. It also helped that it let her have a whole trinity of matching costumes with her marefriends.

Say hello to Luminous Wave, the silly gamer hippogriff OC of The Brony Show community. She just picked up the latest Legend of Zelda game and couldn't resist dressing up like the Princess, cloak, rod and all. Hopefully she has a wonderful time during Nightmare Night!
OC Name: Juniper berry
Juniper berry is a pegasus pony and the older Sister of
Marry Bliss my main OC. In contrast to her more feminine younger sister,
Juniper is more of a tomboy, often involved in physical activities and
sometimes likes to get involved in a little mischief, especially during
Halloween. At the same time, she also has an attentive motherly side to
her, especially towards Merry. She is also named after a cat I used to
have of the same name from May 2019-October 2022 and Is a dedicated to
her memory. RIP.

Bio: Sooo uhh well my pone is a pegasus, their name is Dashi (long version is Dashi Paint but they prefer to be called just Dashi) They're my ponysona so they basically have my traits lol, I do a lot of drawings so my pone's cutie mark is a paintbrush with blue paint (whish is hidden in the costume tho. Decided to draw him because I simply love vampires and I love vampire outfits, no more reasons tbh. ✨

OC Name: Mango Island
Race: Pegasus
Costume: Moo Deng, the viral baby pygmy hippo
With her tropical color schemes, the yellow coat symbolizing the sun and some delicious fruits, and her green and brown mane symbolizing the trees around her, Mango Island is an island-based Pegasus pony, but she is willing to be one with the modern world. Her name has two meanings: "Mango" is her country's National Fruit, and "Island" because the country where she's from, it has 7,107 islands! As for her personality, she may be a bit shy, but she can be quite creative in things like drawing and singing. Aside from MLP, Mango is also a big fan of animals, as well as Disney, among others.

Costume: Emily from Corpse Bride
Inky Noire is a white earth pony mare with a short black mane. She is reserved and doesn't go out often. However, this Nightmare Night, Inky wanted to participate, so she chose to dress up as Emily from Corpse Bride. Given her fixation on gothic themes, it was only natural for her to choose a character from Tim Burton's work.
OC Name: Strawberry Filling
Species: Batpony-Unicorn Hybrid (Batpony with unicorn horn instead of wings.)
Costume: Spooky Nurse
Bio:
A bat pony-unicorn hybrid from the batpony lands, Strawberry Filling is what happens when a tall unicorn and a bat pony love each other very much. Though Strawberry Filling and her family have gotten some flack from this, the family remains strong in the face of this, exemplified by both her and her mother’s tall, muscular, build.
Strawberry had been studying alchemy and cooking books for most of her life, which paid off when a friend of hers needed help after getting badly injured. Wanting to make something to really help her friend out, she created a pie with healing properties, which worked extremely well. As a result, she’d get her cutie mark, showcasing the want both to heal and to bake good food.
She is a positive yet pragmatic soul, always trying to find the best of any situation, but well aware of how much the world can suck. Upbeat most of the time, she is hard to anger. But don’t push your luck, because she can and will use her large, muscular frame and considerable magic power to defend herself. However, she is prone to getting bored when the stakes are very low and she’s uninterested in whatever is happening.
Strawberry is always interested in improving her alchemy and magic skills, working on various potions in her off-time, and reading books on both magic and alchemy. Currently, she is a captain in the lunar guard, leading her own medical corps, and is a qualified medical doctor, though more commonly works as an MSO.
Her costume is of a sexy and spooky nurse, with coat-tight latex and fishnets. While she is a professional MD, she likes to have a bit of fun, and occasionally will play up her creepy hybrid baticorn nature.
OC Name: Dawn Blossom
Race : Earth Pony
Costume : Princess Celestia
Who/Why : He's an Earth Pony that grew up in Canterlot, not the easiest as kids can be ruthless with those that are different and not having a horn is quite the difference. The fact that he was still a blank flank well into his teenage years also didn't help at all.
But one day, or rather one night his Cutie Mark appeared, the same night he's currently wearing this very costume, the day the Mare in the Moon came back, Nightmare Night. As he woke up Dawn was ecstatic to finally have his Cutie Mark ! But he couldn't figure what was his special talent or what his purpose was, fate eventually leading him to Ponyville to meet with 3 fillies that would hopefully help him figure it out.
Turns out this modest earth pony that always idolized the two regal alicorn sisters was meant to make sure day would always turn to night, and night to day, that never again would Nightmare Moon come back or worse...
And so, for this year's Nightmare Night, he chose to put on a Celestia costume like he did the year prior with Luna, disguising himself as the princesses he respects so much and that fate binded him to. Just like day and night are bound by the dawn.
OC Name: Fyodor Vochkin
Fyodor Vochkin is dressed up as his gradfather Pavel Vochkin during his service in combined Equestria-Stalliongrad counteroffensive of 1018’ on Changeling fortresses near strategically important city of Vraks. Who received heavy wounds from a mortar shell during the charge. Story goes that he took a flag from a fallen fellow soldier to temporary bandage his wounds as he didn’t see a medic nearby. Pavel later reached the enemy fighting position with assistance of reinforcing troops and participated in close combat until the enemy surrendered.
Fyodor decided to dress up like his grandfather to commemorate his lifetime hero’s ’ iconic moment.
OC Name: Angel Primrose
My pony OC is named Angel Primrose, she is a pegasus but this Halloween she is a fruit bat. Taking after Flutterbat, she has fluffy ears, a fang, a messy mane, and tail, and pointed feathers instead of the traditional bat wings. She has two little sisters who are twins named Grace(Gracey) and Anna (Anna Banana) as she calls them. They all have a single mom and Angel is a singer. She loves to tend to the flowers in her garden and her mother's shop.
OC Name: Kuro/Sugar
This is Sugar Rush, a Pegasus from an unknown village who shares Pinkie’s love of space travel. She’s a very optimistic mare who works alongside Pinkie and the Cakes at SCC and is in charge of their candy dispensary. Because she’s constantly surrounded by earth ponies, she often forgets she has wings. This year, she dressed up as an astronaut and her daydreams went too far and sadly, she noticed her candy floating away too late. She looks similar to Pinkie with a large fluffy mane and yellow accents on her hooves, nose bridge and chest/belly, her cutie mark is 1 pink candy and 1 blue candy like those in the picture.
