What's your overall opinion on the character writing in G5? Does the character depth compare to G4?
It's easy for many to presuppose G4 is all around of higher quality than G5, but why is it we actually feel that way? There could be a multitude of reasons, but is the character depth one of those? It's kind of unfair to compare the end of G4 with the current state of G5 since G4 had *so much more* development and content. That being said, I feel like seasons 1-3 of FiM did a really good job building the individual characters and personalities of the Mane 6. The Mane 5 often feel flat in comparison because they didn't have as much character building of that quality from the get-go. That being said, I do think Izzy in particular has a bit more depth than the others (especially baby daddy Hitch x_x). I like her craftiness/unicycling and I like that she can sometimes be self aware of her over the top nature.
