China delivered a deliverymare today, and the fandom was happy. Or at least most people were. There was a growing number of people demanding we stop posting these to protect fandom plushie makers, but in the end they never had any effect at all on sales from your average crafter. Turns out people want that high end personal touch a lot more than people thought considering most of these guys are 6+ months out on their commission queues even today.
I wonder if that's how this whole AI art thing will play out in the end? Lots of fears that it will replace artists, but in the end, if I commission a Magnaluna piece a large part of it is about having an authentic Magnaluna drawing. AI just can't deliver that kind of connection. There will of course always be people that pick up a $30 Chinese knockoff Derpy, but I don't think they were ever the target market to begin with. Also Magnaluna needs to open commissions some day so I can get me a Sweet Velvet~
