Something about the beginning of the year alway gets people going, and we tended to write a lot of editorials because of that! It's also usually a period where we were in hiatus mode from the show, so boredom tends to spawn those~
Anyway, history time! Go get major headlines for every January 31'st from 2011-2018!
2011
The first Friend Off happened, where drawfriends and authors would find eachothers work and create art or a fanfic about it! We were pretty much a 4chan blog back then. Check out the entries here!
2012
The image for this one was removed, but show staffers confirmed Doctor Whooves here was a reference to Doctor Who, which spawned an entire mini-fandom of its own.
2013
Fighting is Magic was still a thing, and the awesome musicians of the fandom were releasing battle tracks for it. It's too bad it was shut down, but at least we got TFH out of it!
2014
A plushie line that included ponies we've never seen get plushie treatment before appeared in Russia.
2015
Artist spotlights showing off various artists. We should probably start doing those again!
