People Seemed to like the idea yesterday, so off we go! There are a ton of background characters for us to obsess over from the movie, and so far not much of a campaign going to adopt, name, and fanonize them! I already explained it all yesterday though, so catch up on that if you missed it.
For a quick rundown, we will be attempting to name a backgrounder every night at 6 PM blog time. Drop your idea for names in the comments, and upvote ones you like! If you'd like to submit a pony for consideration, send it to the submit box.
Last night's mare had a few highly upvoted names: Mulberry Bramble, Agatha Mulberry, Moonshadow, Blackberry Sour. Very berry! Do with that what you will. I love moonshadow personally. We will compile them all up in the end, so feel free to go upvote names you like on her post if you missed it.
Now for round 2! Go name these ponies!

Another Mountain of Storyboards Posted by Brian Hatfield for My Little Pony: A New Generation
by SethistoBack on the 1st of the month, I popped up a post about two artists posting a bunch of storyboards. One of them has dumped another giant pile, focused around the scene where Pipp is singing and they are stealing the pegasus crown. If the last set was fun for you, find the new set over on his 3rd part over here!

That style fits Pinkie Pie so well for some reason.

Gillian Berrow Explains Zipp and Pipp's Royal Positions, Imalou Deep Dives Into the History of Sprout!
by SethistoI would compile up a bunch of these minor factoids that are slowly arriving from various movie staffers, but they come out so sporadically at the moment. Have a 2-fer instead, cause these are definitely discussion worthy topics!
First off, writer Gillian Berrow has confirmed that Zipp is in fact heir to the throne over Pipp. A rumor was rumbling around the fandom that the two of them are twins, but Pipp is, in fact, older. We might be calling Zipp "Queen Zipp" some day!
And following that, we have a bit of an extension on what Imalou explained during her panel the other day. It turns out Sprout went through many different variations while his character was constructed, with costumes from the movie "The Dictator", along with Gaddafi being the big draw for his final "evil" form. She also goes into detail about the past Dio Brando (From Jojo's Bizaare Adventure) haircut he was rockin in some of the concepts, and how they eventually stuck with a slicked back look.
Both tweets are capped below for easy viewing!

A lettering artist over on LinkedIn named Oli Frape apparently helped create the logo for this generation of colorful horses, and they have postted up a little gallery of the process on top of it. They didn't do the final run with the CG jewels and colors, but they did design the primary overall look of it.
Check out a few more images of it in plain form below!

Another gallery has been posted of concept art of the movie, and this one is really incredible. An artist named Alvaro Ramiraz has some of the most beautoful backgrounds and scenes out there so far from ideas on locations for A New Generation, plus some stylized cartoony mane 6 stuff to make it even better.
His full gallery can be over here, but I grabbed a few environment shots for below if you want a teaser before you dive in!

Over in California, an outdoor mall called Westfield Century City recently ran a display showing off the ponies listed above with a more floural look. They are pretty freaky looking, but also impressive for being made out of flowers. I can't imagine how difficult it is to get all of those to line up to at least look somewhat ponyish.

I never realized working with Netflix would be so open, but here we are again with another artist releasing behind-the-scenes material! These are shot breakdowns, essentially loops of a single scene that show how it was crafted, from simple backgrounds, to blank ponies, to finally adding all the details and finalizing it. These arrive from Murad Abujaish on Instagram, who worked primarily on the environments and grass according to the description on one of these posts.
Anyway, go get them all embedded below for convenience!

Another artist named Norja L-Galiano over on Instagram has released a spread of images showing off Sunny in all of her early model glory, complete with different expression tests as well as showing off her overall wireframe. It's pretty fascinating to see the internal structure!
Head on down below if you are curious.
