Following the bombshell announcement from IDW Publishing today about Season 10 coming to the comics, Equestria Daily sat down with IDW Comic Editor Bobby Curnow to chat about the new series for a couple of minutes.
Of course this was after I had made my way back down from the ceiling of the Javitis Center.

It's that time again that we pause and reflect on how we relate to these characters we've grown so close to.
A pony with a gentle heart and a yak full of pride, I think we should be able to find some similarity with these two of the Student 6. Sandbar and Yona share the same school, friend group, class schedule, sociopathic classmate; but they each have characteristics that only they could flesh out in the show.
Time to relate those to us!

Hot off the presses at NYCC, IDW Publishing has announced their My Little Pony Comic Books will start Season 10 in April 2020.
The comics will be in the vein of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8, and X-Files Season 11 from Dark Horse, the series will continue the story of the show. There will be over arching story arc and slice of life stories. Season 10 will also feature new and returning comic creators, such as Andy Price who had a cover for Season 10 shown at the panel.
Clearly on the comic side of things pony isn't going anywhere!

For today's coverage, Equestria Daily will be live blogging IDW's 20 Years & Beyond panel. This is the biggest panel IDW has for the convention. So if there is going to be news, we'll find it here.
At least I hope so. We'll just have to wait and see. Which you'll be able to check out for yourself as it happens after the break!

A new pony musician entering the scene, Kallo Skull starts out with a bang, with such a gorgeous and emotional 7-minutes Orchestral composition in tribute to our beloved Chryssy, and showing all the Beauty that is Trapped in her. Those strings give so much emotion as we sympathize with the former Queen's story, and choirs near the end of the track make for a grand finale. Definitely very promising, and I can't wait to see what else Kallo Skull will have in store for the community in the future!

Surprise! Bet you weren't expecting to see Hasbro's Flagship toy property on Equestria Daily today!
Well to be frank, I wasn't expecting to receive an invite from Hasbro to come to this event. So when the invite came in, of course I said "YES!"
Anyways as part of Hasbro's NYCC plans, they held a special Press Event where they unveiled a number of new products coming out both later this year and in Q1 of 2020.
Like the above Cel-Shaded Optimus Prime and Megatron! Just look at those two. They look like they came straight out of the original cartoon! Which is appropriate since they were created to celebrate the franchise's 35th anniversary!

The promo images for the new Magic the Gathering "Ponies: The Galloping" 3 pack yesterday were primarily packaging and the art assets themselves. Today, we have have actual cards and play mats revealed by the official MTG Blog. I'm still over here hoping that Princess Twilight Sparkle here gets actual mane 6 cards to use that final ability!
