I have a feeling Hasbro is going to want to keep their pony momentum going even with G4 ending, so G5 could get going relatively quickly after the US finale. At least at New York Toy Fair in February. That means they need a mane pony to focus their efforts on, with the main supporting cast to prop her up, similar to Twilight.
