Ikealand: Yeah, we figured it would be hilarious to watch the pony fandom meltdown. And think of all the sausages we can sell once people realize they will have all this free time for the next 8 months to eat them.
France: Woah there, sausages? Don't those cause cancer now?
Ikealand: Uhhh...

And then the next four episodes releasedSoo yeah. All episodes up to the 21st are now available on the french Tfourmax service. We've officially dumped the season. Will they stop at 21? I can only guess that this is a hit on Discovery Family or something. An attempt to cancel whatever contract is currently in place that ties Hasbro to them in the USA. There really doesn't seem to be any other benefit to releasing what is supposed to be a toy commercial that could potentially last half a year ALL AT ONCE.

The folks over at Straight From The Heart have a new mega collaborative work up! They've put in some pretty sweet work lately, and it's good to see a bunch of people working together so well. There's some cool rapping work (with a mild content warning) from J. Free, Equestrify, MC-Arch and Doodled, all with their own unique feel, and all held together by a solid instrumental produced by TCB. Check it out below!

Another Equestria Girls DVD has appeared over on Amazon. This one is going with the title "Equestria Girls Specials", and includes 10 Equestria Girls Adventures shorts, Forgotten Friendship, and Rollercoaster of Friendship.
I'm sure more info on it will appear as we get closer to it's release date. We will get an update out when it does.

With no new comic this week, I'd like to instead talk about a topic that's been prominent in both the show and comics. Equestria is no stranger to threats, both internal and external, but how has it adapted?
What are the pros and cons to this seeming innocence, and what are the costs?

You know what? I'm not even mad. Ikea pony is adorable. Just take the season Sweden. Take it, release it in glorious 4k in English, and just get it over with. Who needs episodes when you have that pony up there sneaking into your house and leaving piles of wood, allen wrenches, and screws for us all to create amazing furniture out of? Why bother worrying about finding things to post in our upcoming 8 month hiatus and the inevitable EQD patreon begging when we can just bury our heads in our brand new Ikea brand couch? Maybe we can skip that and just get a sponsorship deal going with them. Who wants daily lamp shade discussions and intelligent reviews on various kitchen implements? I know I do. Take the site Sweden. It's all yours.
Uhh, anyway... season 8 will be ending in August due to the reveal of the finale airing on the 28th and 29th. Expect a post about it, etc etc. You all know the drill by now.

An update has rolled out over on Netflix that shifted the removal of Friendship is Magic from the 16th of August to the 31st. We still aren't sure if it will actually be getting the axe, but at the moment it's at least being worked on.
We will get an update out if anymore dates change.

While the internet may have made our world seem smaller it has also expanded our horizons by introducing us to all forms of culture, history, and people. Being able to have an open mind and experience new cultures is something I admit I enjoy seeing in this new season of FiM...though it looks like Starlight would rather enjoy her father butting out of hers.
As for our prompt we netted 93 ponies tonight which brings us up to 3264 ponies now in total, great job everyone!
While I was thinking of today's prompt I also came to the realization that not only does the ATG (at least during the past couple years) never fall on a holiday, but an important part of the cultures of different peoples are their holidays and traditions! So, for something fun and that should really stretch our diversity today I'd like you guys to Draw a pony celebrating your favorite holiday / Draw a pony partying too hard.
