Sparkle returns, with another awesome day. We've got a ton of art in this one, almost 50 in all. Good work everyone! I have no idea at all what is going on up there, but it's well drawn.

As a reminder, these posts are only for art that was created in the last few weeks, specifically for Twilight's big day. This goes for all pones. If you sent old stuff, it probably won't appear here. I know the compiler flagged a bunch of duplicates this time, meaning they have already been on the site. A few might slip through, but the overall is just for new.

Even with the number of comics staring Twilight I still would have to say that Twilight's First Day has to be my all time favorite. It's just the right balance of cute, great storytelling, and humor.

It is Twilight Sparkle day!  A day of sparkling twilight when we show our our appreciation for Twilight, and Sparkles of all shapes and sizes.  And there are many Sparkles.  So many Sparkles.  But while all Twilights sparkle like the sparkling Twilights that they are, some are more Sparkle than Twilight.

Description: The Psychopath is a stallion with an unknown relation to the princesses, and yet he is held within the lowest levels of the Canterlot castle dungeons. His existence has been kept secret for centuries, and only the council and a few select guards know of him. Now, another mare will know of his existence. Twilight Sparkle will free him inadvertently, causing the psychotic pony with a strange appearance to float about Equestria, causing mayhem and destruction in the form of "pranks". How will the student deal with somepony who is apparently not trying to cause harm but does so anyway?

Twilight Day Discussion - Future Episodes, Likes, Dislikes, and Theories!

Twilight Sparkle has been our main character since the very first episode, the first pony we ever saw (assuming you watched the premiere of the show and nothing else back in the day), and she has been with us ever since. Over time she has grown a lot as a character: from a mare that took friends for granted for studying, to learning to master the magic of friendship and eventually ascend to princess status. Even then her journey continued as she tried to find her place as a princess (which could often times be frustrating) until she found purpose in not only taking on a student of her own but many students as she started her own school.

Of course there have been hiccups along the way and there are a fair number of people that prefer the pre-princess Twilight back when she seemed neurotic about just about everything. While others have embraced the changes and gone with the flow so to speak.

Now as Twilight continues her journey we can only wonder what still awaits her. Whatever it is, we're along for the ride!

So what do you guys think? What do you like or dislike about Twilight or her progression in the series? What sort of episodes do you hope she'll have in the future? And theories do you have about where her journey will take her?

Newbie Artist Training Grounds VIII: Day 15

What I've always loved about this prompt is getting to see all the different pop culture references our ponies end up in! Whether it's something a bit older or just recently released I always discover something new each year when we have this prompt. Not only that, but it tends to be a lot of fun and from looking at the gallery it seemed like you all had a blast.

Today in our pony gallery we managed to collect 141 ponies bringing us up to 2387 ponies in total! Nicely done everyone!

So we've had some chances to draw multiple ponies, expressions, different species, and interesting environments so while today's prompt may seem a bit boring by comparison I feel it teaches an important skill I hope you'll take beyond ponies or incorporate into your pony art from time to time.

While our ponies are usually of the non-clothed variety clothing has appeared in the show and drawing it to get it just right as well as come up with a design that works for your pony is a creative challenge in of itself! That's why for today's prompt I'd like you to try and Draw a fashionable pony / Draw a pony with good taste.
