As of yesterday morning, the Equestria Daily Youtube channel has been banned. We got no warning, and the appeal was denied within an hour. Unfortunately you cannot appeal a second time. The specific reason given is:
This account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations.
We are pretty stumped on why that would happen. The channel has commented on maybe 10 videos in the last 8 years, mainly just praising various content creators. There weren't any deceptive practices going on, and definitely no spam considering we posted maybe once a week during a season then no other times. Our thumbnails weren't anywhere near clickbait or misleading. Tags were all 100% about the video being posted, with simple stuff like "My Little Pony" and "Friendship is Magic".
This is not the 3-strikes-and-your-out copyright issue either. EQD had no active copyright strikes. Most videos were claimed by Hasbro, but that's par for the course in posting trailers and teasers, they claim them and pop their ads on. It has been happening for half a decade.I figured I'd give this a day to see what happened, but it's looking like things are permanent unless we can get some non-automated attention.
The real issue is the loss of all of our subscriptions. Most content creators in the fandom no longer send their videos in, as they just assume we have them subbed to post. That is all gone, so the best thing you can do to help would be to submit stuff we might miss. Animations, PMV, SFM, etc. A few people are attempting to contact trusted flaggers and the @TeamYouTube on Twitter. Hopefully we can at least get a why. Since we never received a warning for anything we did over there, we never had a chance to fix whatever cause this. It could even just be people mass flagging stuff for fun, as has happened numerous times to other channels.
