Much like Derpy or any of the many other background ponies the fandom has brought to life over the years, Lyra and Bon Bon were no exception to the rule that we had to give every interesting background pony we saw their own story.
From being an odd couple to Lyra being obsessed with humans and just odd in general these two have always been together. Since Slice of Life their backstories have been a bit more solidified but plenty of head canons developed long ago are still alive and well.
