Equestria Daily Q&A and Suggestion Gathering - Ask us Anything in the Comments!

Well, now that the crazy weekend is over and we suddenly have a much shorter season, lets go ahead and get this thing going! An early hiatus means we have even more break time to run events or whatever other crazy ideas you all might have while trying to keep afloat waiting for the new season, so hopefully we can brainstorm some things!

The point of this post is to answer any questions you all might have on how EQD works or for specific blog ponies, reply to suggestions to improve the site,  and generally clear the waters and hopefully continue to make EQD as transparent as possible. I know a lot of people are still confused at how some of our processes work and this causes all sorts of misconceptions and conspiracy theories to arise, so feel free to ask even the harder stuff. We won't bite!

We will probably be active here for about an hour, then answer whatever late comers hop on as we get time.

My Little Pony Movie to Take 4th Place With $8.8 Million

Box office estimates are now in from movie studios as we exit the first weekend for the MLP Movie. Despite some high predictions from other sites which I believe were based on online ticket sales, it looks like the movie will settle at $8.8 million for the weekend, taking 4th place behind IT, The Mountain Between Us, and Blade Runner.

While not as high as we expected, this showing still beats out other animated films released by Lionsgate in the past. Depending on the legs of the movie I expect we'll see a 30%-50% drop in ticket sales next weekend.

How's The MLP Movie Doing in Reviews? A Compilation of Critics, Papers, and Sites

The movie continues to chug along through the weekend, and we have a host of review sites, newspapers, and big name Youtubers tossing their opinions on it into the mix. While it seems like a good majority of them fall into the positive category keeping us at around 58% on rotten tomatoes, we still have a few negative ones thrown into the mix.

I'm noticing a trend of negatives primarily coming from people that immediately jump to the movie being a toy commercial and base their entire review on that. It's an understandable argument, but it would be nice if they would judge it on it's merits rather than what it's end-goal is.

MLP Movie-Themed Orchestral Music: Jyc Row - Tempest Shadow / Jyc Row - Captain Celaeno

Jyc Row is celebrating the release of the long-awaited movie with a couple of pretty epic instrumental character themes for Tempest Shadow and Captain Celaeno! Tempest's steadily builds with epic drums to a thunderous crescendo of strings and percussion that has some fantastic tension throughout. Celaeno's theme, in contrast, is much more of a typical celtic pirate-style adventure piece, with some lovely composition and conjuring up some great imagery of sailing the seas. Check them both out below!

Pinkie Pie Day Discussion - Episode Ideas, Character Development, and More!

Pinkie has always been the mysterious pony of the group. With cartoon powers that sometimes propel her past any of her friends she has always been there to provide comic relief and a solution to problems that seem unsolvable.

New Metal Pony Lineup from Fascinations

A company called Fascinations has picked up the pony license to release a lineup ofmetal pony figures you break off of a steel sheet and craft yourself. The entire mane 6 are are coming soon according to their website, and fall into the "easy" category for creation.

Head on over here to check out what their other products look like so you can get an idea. They don't have a release date yet on ponies.
