In a probable bid to help promote Hasbro's ability to make movies and TV programs related to their properties, Hasbro was in talks to buy Lionsgate who is distributing the movie this fall. Talks appear to have broken down over price disagreements but that doesn't mean Hasbro won't try again or seek out another company to buy out. With deeper ties in Hollywood, who knows what Hasbro could accomplish with their properties like MLP.
