Time to do it again. Grab your MSPaint, pencil, charcoal, ketchup and old paint brush, 3000 dollar cintiq tablet loaded with the most expensive drawing programs imaginable, or whatever else, and draw Ember here. Equestria's newest princess is finally not an alicorn and it's your chance to make her scales shine.

As I mentioned last month, we have been considering hopping on Patreon for a while now. It's an idea that many recommended but I wasn't too willing to do for about a year now. It looks like it's the best option for this type of fansite format though, and a lot less obnoxious than the alternatives. The internet is rapidly changing, and because of this, we need to keep up as well. With the mobile app and site gobbling up a huge amount of EQD, quite a few blog style news and spotlight websites are doing similar things.
We want to be perfectly clear that our Patreon is voluntary. EQD will not go behind a paywall or offer any additional incentives behind what we post. We won't resent anyone that doesn't want anything to do with it. This is strictly for those of you that asked for ways to help EQD and keep the lights on! Rewards are pretty simple and we are open to more suggestions:
- Credits page for all donors foreverrrr!
- Shoutouts in a monthly celebration post (with images, video, and other things)
- EQD Monthly Twitter shoutouts
- Editorial topic suggestion
- OC sketching
- Contributor skype room to bother me and any other blogpony whenever we are around
- Fandom commission/etsy/ebay ad section on the side bar for creators (not licensees or official products)
- Note: As per the way Patreon works, all rewards will kick in starting next month
(Full details on the actual page for these)
Quite a few of you had questions on why we were going this route. I have a pretty long winded explanation both on the Patreon page and below the break. Feel free to chime in with whatever you want in the comments. Hopefully I hit everything asked based on the suggestion gathering post a few weeks ago.
Thanks to everyone that even reads this even if you don't join. As I've said countless times over the years, we wouldn't be here without you!

Directors Denny Lu and Tim Stuby on Twitter!
by Calpain
As you guys might have noticed, with Big Jim as the leading director on the show he has picked up two excellent staff members to serve as his fellow directors: Denny Lu and Tim Stuby!
While we have known of Tim for a long time at this point (BaloneyBrony) I don't think we've highlighted Denny Lu before.
So to celebrate their new roles as directors for our favorite show, I thought it would be a nice idea to give them a big pony hello on their Twitter pages!
You guys know what to do! CHHHAARGE!

With so many new dragon designs I wonder if our artists are going to be trying their hooves at some dragon related art today? Find out by checking them after the break!
As always with this event, if you want to partake in the madness make sure to send an email to me at [email protected] with your name, the type of art you'll be doing, a gallery link (optional) a link to your livestream and a banner (also optional). Make sure that your stream follows our content guidelines as laid out under our submit tab and also make sure to that you can be ready to stream at our standard time of 4pm EST / 1pm PST on Saturday. Also, if you participated in this week's stream event please send me the art you made so I can include it in next week's Livestream Drawfriend.

If you are following The Stellae Key animation series, the second episode has been released. If you aren't, you should probably watch the first one first as it's already confusing as is!

More Spike Episodes to Come!
by Calpain
World building? Great new character designs? Humor AND a great storyline for Spike? This episode really did rock in my opinion. Well, it looks like Jim has come out to say that this will not be the only episode we get of him this season, so if that's the case we might be getting one amazing season with Spike!
We don't have any synopsis for these yet in the announced episode section, so what their topics are is a complete mystery.
Thanks to DrForester for sending it in!

Spike is super excited for his first episode of the season! I had heard rumors that there might be some good Spike development this season, so lets cross our fingers and give our little assistant friend the best of luck in today's episode!
If you want a sneak peek on it, check out the trailer over here!
And if you want an in-depth look at the last episode, go dive into our episode followup.
