Diana Kaarina -
Diana’s first voice-over work was dubbing for the Japanese Animé series, Hey, Tetsuya and Ranma ½, just as her musical theatre career was taking off. She ran off to perform on Broadway, where she built her resumé with such credits as “Eponine” in Les Miserables and RENT where she was the Mimi/Maureen swing and played every female role but Joanne. US National Tours include “Eponine” in Les Miserables (National Theatre Award & Kevin Kline Award nom. for Best Actress in a musical), “Miss Dorothy” in Thoroughly Modern Millie (created) and “Meg Giry” in the International and Canadian tours of Phantom of the Opera, which she also played in Toronto’s resident company. With numerous International and Regional performances behind her and a new daughter to raise, this talented young lady returned to Vancouver, Canada, where she has enthusiastically re-committed to the pursuit of voicing animated characters. Diving right in as the voice of Barbie for roughly a three year period (and 5 movies), Diana re-established herself on the animation scene and has since voiced lead or recurring roles in She-Zow, Maya the Bee, Strawberry Shortcake and Mighty Monsters; and guest roles in Geronimo Stilton, Dinosaur Train and The Deep, to name a selection. In 2014, she provided the voice of Aria Blaze in My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Rainbow Rocks. Season 6 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic included her first full-fledged pony role voicing the spicy, Saffron Masala. Diana is currently the Director of Broadway Edge Performing Arts Studio and was a nominee for the 2015 YWCA Women of Distinction Award in Arts and Culture.
