• TrotCon 2016 - Special John De Lancie Event

Trotcon returns this year with an interesting little John de Lancie event in tow. If you are a fan of a certain chaos king, or just thing their OC pony is cute (cause she is), head on down below the break for the infos!

So, John de Lancie is coming to TrotCon. You might have heard about it. You might have heard of him. You might have heard of TrotCon. If not, hi, we’re TrotCon. And we have John de Lancie stopping by in July.
With an actor as prolific and multi-talented as de Lancie, who you might know best as the voice of Discord on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic or Q on Star Trek, we simply had to do something fun with him aside from the usual panels you’ve come to expect — which is why we’re exceedingly excited to announce a special ticketed event during TrotCon 2016: “In Defense of Poetry” with John de Lancie.
What’s up with poetry and why is John de Lancie appearing at an event on it? Simple: he’s got an essay of the same name and he wants to share it with you. Afterward, he’s looking to have a discussion with attendees on poetry and the like, with John speaking to his own connections with learning to read, poetry and much, much more. He’ll even read a couple of other poems during the one-and-a-half-hour engagement.
This isn’t like normal events, and as such there will be a $20 charge to enter “In Defense of Poetry,” doable either on Eventbrite before the convention or at the door. However, tickets are included if you purchase an Alicorn- or Draconequus-tier sponsor badge. Haven’t gotten one of those? What are you waiting for?! It’s badges like these that help us to bring you more awesome pony content each year, like John de Lancie this year and such great folks as Andrea Libman, Kelly Sheridan, M.A. Larson, Peter New and much more in the past.
Oh, also, before we forget! Official prices for John de Lancie autograph vouchers are here. They’ll be $30 each, and you can also purchase on Eventbrite before the convention if you so choose.
We’ve got John de Lancie, a score of community guests including Pixelkitties and TJ Carson of Ask Pirate Dash, and we’re not done yet. Keep an eye on trotcon.net, y’all — we’re six months away and we’re pleased as punch to bring you another convention for the fifth time.
