PMV Today Contest
Welcome to the fourth annual PMVToday sponsored pony video contest, complete with an award ceremony and a presentation of the winners at BronyCon! This page will give you all the details you need to know about the contest rules, deadlines, and yes, the fabulous prizes! Please use the form at the bottom of this page to submit your entry.
We’ll start off with the question that everyone is most interested in: what can I win? We are excited to be able to offer the following prizes for the top 4 videos in each of our 3 PMV categories (Action, Drama, and Feel Good) as well as the Best in Show (Grand Prize) winner. That’s a total of 13 possible winners!
Prizes:
Grand Prize: Two vinyl pony figures, IDW MLP comics issues 13-16, and 3 cutie mark patches.
1st: IDW MLP comics issues 13-16 and 2 cutie mark patches.
2nd: 2 cutie mark patches.
3rd: 1 cutie mark patch.
4th: 1 cutie mark patch.
We will ship your prizes to you absolutely free of charge no matter where in the world you happen to live. Not only that, if you are able to attend Bronycon this year your prize will be bestowed upon you in front of a crowd of adoring fans at our contest event! The exact vinyl figurines and patches will be chosen for the winners based on their response to the form.
Next is the deadline. All submissions should be sent in by midnight (Eastern Standard Time) on:
June 10th, 2016
Now for the rules. The rules are about the same as last year, but still, be sure to review them before getting to work or sending in a contest submission!
RULES
1. Contest submissions can be any type of video and can include any combination of show footage, custom animation, music, voice acting, or anything else you can imagine!
2. All videos must have MLP as the primary focus. If you are unsure whether your video will qualify, send us an email explaining your idea and we can work it out!
3. The video can not contain any violent, rude, obscene, or generally mature content that would be outside a PG-13 rating.
4. The judges will be assigning categories this year based on their own judgment; however, we’ve still provided a dropdown for you to suggest the category.
5. Each video should be between 1 minute and 5 minutes in length. If you think your submission should be an exception, send us an email and we can discuss it. Any videos of an exceptional length will likely not be shown in full at the presentation.
6. Videos should be submitted in the form of a link to a file sharing website such as MediaFire, Google Drive, etc (not a YouTube link). While not a requirement, we encourage everyone to use high quality episode clips without the Hub/Discovery Family watermark and to render in HD.
7. Only one video can be submitted per person. Furthermore, for any collaboration entries, only a maximum of 2 people can work on the video. Any collaboration with 3 or more participants will be disregarded.
8. Finally and most importantly, if you submit a video for the contest it must remain unpublished on the internet until after the results are announced at Bronycon. An important part of putting on a great show is having all of the videos be brand new to the audience, so we appreciate your patience in keeping your hard work under wraps for a little while. After the award ceremony we of course encourage all participants to publish their entries for the world to see! As a further clarification, only the contest entry has to remain unpublished. We look forward to seeing all of the non-contest PMVs that get published in the meantime!
