Gameloft has been shutting down studios left and right according to Gamasutra. Seven have already fallen under the chopping block. The studio apparently responsible for the My Little Pony game is the most recent in hits, with their New Zealand office closing and 160 employees laid off.
What will this mean for the game? I'm assuming it's still profitable considering the updates slowly trickling out still. Chances are development will be switched over to one of their many other studios, or the new one in Nigeria.
Or maybe the dream will happen, and Hasbro will throw some money into a real pony game. I still want my Elder Scrolls: Equestria Hasbro! Make it happen...
Thanks to Scortex for the heads up!
