Nightly Roundup #1208
by Calpain
I kind of like the traditional unicorn look some artists use for depicting MLP characters. They just look more graceful and somewhat fragile, sort of what you'd think a magic user would look like, you know?
News time my friends! Get it all after the break!

Bookhorse needed to sleep, and the fandom got to comment about an overload of Spikeyness. What did the reviewers around the ponynet thing of Princess Spike? Do you agree or disagree with them? Feel free to toss your two cents below in the comments.
And get a bunch of reviews of Princess Spike below!

The hooved equine fighting game spinning off from Fighting is Magic by the original crew is still chuggin along! The team over at Mane 6 released an update with all sorts of neat little teasers, including a few attack videos.
Oh, and skins. Glorious skins:

This NYCC I'm going to spend a whole bunch of money to commission a whole bunch of different arts by a whole bunch of different IDW MLP Artists.
In fact I might start with my next paycheck... we'll see.
Anyways IDW's resident dragon MLP artist, Agnes Garbowska, has tossed up a couple of panels for everyone to spoil their eyes rotten with.
Eh, you'll get used to the smell after a few days. And things only start to get hard to see if you don't immediately start wildly speculating about the issue after the break!

Nightly Discussion #390
by Calpain
People really seem to have gotten to like this little character! Our fandom's love for background characters never ceases to amaze.
Evening guys, are you all ready for some chatting?

Yeah, it's a corny title, but I'm a corny kinda guy. Have Applejack jumping into a lake in celebration. I wonder if that hat is water proof? Are cowboy hats waterproof? Or is it a cowpony hat? What kind of leather is that? Or is it not leather?
So many questions.
Get your daily dose of pony art below.

Rating for Princess Spike - Lowest of Season
by CalpainThe ratings for last weekend's Princess Spike are in and they aren't the best we've seen. With numbers clocking in at 260,000 viewers it's a bit of a drop from the weekend before where Slice of Life scored 431,000 viewers.
It might be that the drop can be attributed to it being a holiday weekend in the States with Father's Day and that there was an unusually low amount of advertising for this episode, to the point I wonder if kids even knew there was a new episode last weekend.
Whatever the cause, it's still the highest rated show on Discovery Family, so keep up the good work ponies!
Thanks to everyone for sending this one in.

I need to seriously commission some art for these headers. Eh, that's future Q's problem. Not mine!
Brenda Hickey has tossed up yet another Single Panel Out of Context Sneak Peek for the upcoming Discord and Luna Friends Forever issue! I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see how Discord and Luna interact together.
Maybe they'll go on a pranking spree and really get on Celestia's nerves.
…
I call dibs on that idea. No one else take it! But for those of you curious about the idea for this issue you can find it after the break!
And remember folks, speculate like crazy. Discord would be so disappointed if there weren't chaos in these comments.

Usually audio books would go in the nightly roundup, but this one has a ton of custom art to go along with it. 17 minutes worth to be exact.
And the description if you need some:
After the defeat of Tirek, Equestria is safe once more, but Luna can sense that her sister is troubled. When Celestia retreats to the starry realm of ascension in order to look upon the past, Luna joins her to discover what is bothering her.
Head on down below the break to listen, or even watch thanks to the art!

Ponies Around the World is making it's big return this year, with submissions opening a bit later than usual! Starting on June 26th, the submitter will open for two weeks. I know some of you may have already returned from vacations, but I'm sure there are interesting places nearby to visit and grab a snapshot of your favorite pony figure with.
If you have no idea what Ponies Around the World Is, have the page for it. The general idea is to take a pony toy, and snap a photo of it in front of a major landmark, historic building, or significant location. We've had everything from the pyramids in Egypt to remote islands in the middle of nowhere so far.
Now go! If you are on a vacation, be sure to snap a pic with a pony!

A few days ago, the Midnight Mares kickstarter for the potential pony animation project appeared once again on kickstarter. Their earlier funding goal was cut down, and new rewards added for backing each specific tier. They also have a few new concept images available to check out.
Technically it's already funded, though their stretch goals seem to be what they were looking to do last time:
- $10,000 "Mini-Episode" 5-7 minutes
- $25,000 "Double-Mini" 8-10 minutes
- $50,000 "Half-Episode" 12-14 minutes
- $100,000 "Full-Length Pilot Episode" 22-24 minutes
Head on over here if you are interested.

A few weeks ago, the team over at Equestrian Dreamers revealed the cast for their upcoming second case in the "My Little Investigations" game. One character in particular was a complete mystery, specifically created for the world they are building.
I wonder who he is based on, if anyone? Get the bio in interview format over here!
Thanks to Erik for sending it.

We had a short teaser synopsis for Party Pooped a few weeks ago on Zap2it, but it didn't say a whole lot about what we should expect in the actual episode. Discovery Family has tossed up a modified one that explains quite a bit more. As always, expect some spoileryness.
Head on down below to check it out!

The time has finally come for all you Build-A-Bear collectors out there. Derpy Hooves is about to arrive. Buried within their usual databases was this image of everyone's favorite pony based disaster. Will she have an optional mail-mare uniform? Is Build-A-Bear badass enough to do that?
Here's to hoping they don't just give her a random dress!
Thanks to Jennifer for sending it.
