Dragon Quest was one of the few major worldbuilding episodes of the last few years, exploring the incredibly deep lava swimming and intelligence of the dragon race. Truly majestic creatures.
Go get everything wrong with it below!

I don't know if I'd even call that first one dubstep. It's got some dubstep, but it's super unique. You probably expect that if you follow Igna at all though.
And in the second slot, something a bit more traditional via some metal/rock. Get both below!
1.) Igna - Nightowl (Instrumental - Glitchy Dubstep)
2.) The Wonderbolts - The Stare Master! (Vocal - Rock)

Now this was a pleasant surprise to find in my mailbox after a long day at work!
A little under two years ago—after the extremely successful Kickstarter campaign for the original Bronies: The Unexpected Fans of My Little Pon—an indiegogo for what was known then as Bronies: The Unreleased Tapes.
Unfortunately, the project kept seeing delay, after delay, after delay. Until finally the whole thing was released in 12 parts on youtube under the banner Bronies 2: More Unexpected Fans of My Little Pony.
So, for those of you who backed the campaigned, or pre-ordered the DVD separately after the fact, keep an eye on your mailbox! It should be showing up soon! -
Since this was such a hot topic earlier in the day, IDW Editor Bobby Curnow replied with a bit of clarification on how exactly the worlds between the comics and the show actually worked. The basic idea is this:
- The Comics follow the show as closely as possible
- They try avoid breaking any of the show "canons"
- If major elements in a comic idea would clash with a future idea from the show, Hasbro might axe it.
- Bobby is unaware of the show staffers following the comics in any official way
- With all of this, what happens in the comics technically has no bearing on the actual show
So in the end, the comic will follow show canon, but the show doesn't technically follow comic canon.
Editorial bit:
As Jim pointed out though in a series of tweets (starting here), does it even matter in the end? More pony is more pony. I'm not complaining. I don't think the show or the comics have ever been 100% on cannon since season two as is. Ponyland is flexible. It's a playground of civilizations and sapient creatures all appearing and disappearing when needed with "some" connections throughout.
The Analysis community may have pointed a critical eye at the show in the past year and a half, but lets be realistic here, a lot of what they come up with is just speculation for the sake of making entertaining videos. My Little Pony isn't as deep or set in stone as other major settings, which makes a good amount of critical analysis pointless outside of just being fun to theorize with.
So watch your ponies, but don't expect serious business anywhere near what our buddies in the Youtuber pony community come up with. At the end of the day, Twilight Sparkle can mind control an entire city or level a mountain. You can't expect stability with power like that floating around!

A week long sale has started today on Comixology for the My Little Pony: Friends Forever comic series!
The prices for this are actually a great steal! Issue 1–12 are priced at $0.99 each and the two digital trades are $3.99.
Sales ends at 11:00 PM EST on February 23rd, 2015.
If you haven't checked out the series, or need to fill in a few holes in your collection, now's the time to do it.
Pleasant reading everyone!
Thanks to Jared, Sonatina, and everyone else for sending it! -
DARK Twilight, with big wings! This is how it should be. Look at how much more balanced she is when her wings are as big as her body is. That makes way more sense!
Now go. Get some art. Loads of art. Yay art.

[Romance][Sad]
Author: Monochromatic
Description: For Twilight, the increased lifespan that came with princesshood had forced her to outlive her friends. Centuries later, she'll have the chance to go back in time to see her friends one last time, particularly a certain gray unicorn she's missed terribly.
(Based on the disproven theory that Twilight's alicorn transformation came with immortality)

We've already reported the hell out Toy Fair's official merchandise, but the side licensees have a bunch of stuff up their sleeves as well. Those Fashems Squishy Pop ponies have a few new sets on the way, with the CMC and a few of those Gala dresses from the first season.
And in the light up side, we have a... whale looking Rainbow Dash. Seriously just look at that thing. Hopefully it's a beta product. Or maybe it's just a bad angle. I have no idea.
Thanks to Binary Witchery and Stitch Witchery for these images!

If you find yourself collecting the Aurora plushies, Celestia has popped up over at Toy Fair 2015. As with everything else announced there, expect her later in the year at some point to join that Luna you have.
Thanks to James for sending it!

While the comics do borrow pretty heavily from the show, it looks like we won't see it the other way around according to FiM director Big Jim. I suppose that is the reasoning behind Luna being so wildy different between the two, though I'd kill for some silly Moonbutt and her pet possum. If there is something you don't like in the comics though, you probably don't need to worry about it influencing the show too much.
Thanks to Raul and everyone else that sent it!

Sit down dear EQD reader, I need to tell you something. There is a thing in pony that I have liked since the very beginning. Something incredibly simple that isn't done nearly enough. Something that makes ponies even better than they already are. It's pretty novel idea: Armor. I'm not talking about terrible $9 DLC that started up the hell the gaming industry is currently going through here. I'm talking about the awesome in the video below. Go check it out now.
