It's that glorious time of the year again when the world is flooded with all sorts of fun major holidays to break up the otherwise boring 12 month cycle. Where would we be without holidays to ditch work and eat ridiculous amounts of food? Not happy, that's where. Though, I guess you don't get to ditch if you run a website or work retail. Thus is life.
This year, Entertainment Earth has donated some of those awesome Hikari Rainbow Dash figures that Funko is releasing. If you have no idea what those are, have a banner:
The Chrome limited edition (only 250 being made) Entertainment Earth exclusive, along with the original flat one (1000 being made) and the rainbowfied special edition (500 being made) are all up for grabs. Each of these guys clocks in at a $79 bucks a pop with limited collector style runs.
And joining them, just for entering the event, Cadance and Spike are also available.

What is a Holiday Banner Contest?
You may have noticed up there in the header of the site, we have a banner. Borrowing the idea from Google, we like to rotate that thing out based on what is going on in the world, be it a holiday or an interesting event from an episode. If you are curious, we have a pretty large banner archive over here.
Unlike past banner events, this one covers three major upcoming holidays:
- Halloween
- Thanksgiving
- Anything December related (Christmas, Hanukkah, Quanza, Hearthwarming Eve, or just Dash on a snowboard if you don't want to affiliate with any)
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to make a holiday themed site banner for us to display for all the pony world to see!
I saw prizes! What do I win and how do I win it?!
Each holiday will have their own variant on the Funko Hikari Rainbow Dash, and for using one of our new site mascots (Information on Spotlight Splash and Rocket Tier here!), you are automatically put into two random draws for Cadance or Spike.
The three limited edition Hikari Rainbow Dash figures will each be assigned a month. Winners will be voted on internally by both the EQD crew and some of our artist buddies in the fandom (They are unable to vote for themselves of course!). If we get enough banners, we will rotate the finalists leading up to their holidays, so make sure to include a source so we can credit you!
One Chrome Rainbow Dash will be given to a winner from the Halloween themed banners. (1/250 made)
One Original Rainbow Dash is available for December holiday themed banners. (1/1000 made)
Cadance and Spike will be given out to two separate random winners who include Spotlight or Rocket Tier. All are welcome here, even if your banner doesn't make it to the finals.

How do I enter and what are the specifics?
Banner Size/Type Requirements:
- The banners must be transparent .png files. ---A full background is not recommended unless it has some kind of border--- (example)
- Required Size: 1000px by 350px
- It needs to have "Equestria Daily" on it.
- No gore, No Clop, keep it clean.
- The MLP Vector club is a good place to find items for banners
Send everything to Submit@equestriadaily.com and title it BANNER.
What to include:
- Source link (Deviant Art recommended if you want to avoid quality loss!)
- Online Name
- Attach the banner to the email
(Update) Deadlines for each banner:
Halloween banners - October 26th at 11:59 PM PST
Thanksgiving/Autumn banners - November 30th at 11:59 PST
December Holidays banners - December 10th at 11:59 PST
