There has been a lot of debate over the last few days about what kind of relationship these two could technically have. While Equestrian laws may not follow the same rules as our own, and cartoon pony genetics may or may not produce genetic defects if related ponies decide to hook up, we are a fandom, and this stuff is serious business!
The Pies and Apples haven't officially 100% confirmed their actual relationship, and maybe keeping it vague is a good thing in this case. I'm sure you have all drawn your own conclusions though, and since so many of you are asking us to toss a discussion post up about the topic, I think it's a good a time as any to do that!
