Shifty-eyed Pinkie Pie is keeping an eye out for yaks. If this week's stories aren't perfect, the yaks might destroy them.
If you're brave enough to risk yak themed carnage, grab your weekly prompts below the break, and check out the finished entries for "Princess Spike."
If Pinkie Pie had made it to Yakyakistan, what would she have found there, and what sort of party would she have thrown?
Equestria goes to war with the yaks!
The mane six discover some really unusual party files in Pinkie's party cave.
The Writer's Training Grounds is a weekly writing exercise in which authors of all skill levels are invited to craft a story based on the prompts provided above. Responses to these prompts are posted directly on Equestria Daily in a weekly compilation post that bypasses the pre-reading process. Authors are then highly encouraged to read comment on, and promote each others' stories -- if you've ever prepared a copy-paste comment for an episode followup, consider doing the same for a fellow WTG participant!
If you have any prompt ideas for next week's WTG, feel free to chuck them over to [email protected] with the subject line "WTG Prompt Idea" or something similar. We just might use it that week and give you credit!
Rules:
- Keep the content appropriate as defined by our submission guidelines.
- Keep it between 1,000 - 7,000 words. >Greentexts and doorstoppers should apply elsewhere!

I did go overboard using Twilight’s name for my own gratification at the summit, but then I thought how odd it was that Cadence did little to help Twilight, had sent her to get sleep but had let ponies visit her anyway, and had known about the public works projects but set up a situation where I’d certainly botch it and take the blame. It was like she wanted Twilight unable to function after the summit. Not only that, but Cadence could grow crystals, and I knew only one pony who knew that magic. I volunteered to assist with the Crystal Faire. Something seemed terribly wrong, and if I could not figure out what quickly enough, the Crystal Empire might fall.
