Tonight's Successful Meetups
The March up to the Upper Eastside
It was over this past weekend that the Bronies-NYC Brony group had put together another Hiking meetup for the members of Bronies-NYC. They had gone to a lot of places in New York City and this is yet covered more ground in the upper districts of Manehattan.
The location would be concentrated from Washington Bridge up to the very tip of Manhattan.
They had made it over the highway that ran along side the Greenway to go to a point under the Washington Bridge which was to be their first sight of the Little Red Lighthouse landmark. Very small thing that was over shadowed by the George Washington Bridge, but it played a very important role in the early days as the beacon that ships used to locate the shore.
While on the walk they found this odd awning, they might have just thought they had been walking till they hit Rome.
They made it to the end of the island fairly well and with no rain starting. It was on the return trip did it start raining from light to then heavy. Yet they had the drive to finish the route and no one would turn down cause of the weather. Though on one occasion they did go down a path that lead down into a dead end and they had to double back, though to they it only added to the time they would spend together, even the rain made them push forward even harder.
Yet in the end they were able to make it there and back with everyone in one piece. The end result was tallied via GPS that they had walked about 9 miles in that hike. In the end they finished things off with a hearty meal in a local eatery. The journey they fellow Bronies they took was met with difficulty yet they had the company of each other which made any distance traveled a mere Hop, Skip and, a Jump. Consumption of food after a hike like that I bet felt so satisfying, especially when having it with friends.
