• Artist Spotlight: Fralininin / Aosion / Nika191319 / Left2Fail / ElkaArt

I don't think I'll ever be caught up with all the amazing artists there are out there. At least it keeps me busy and these spotlights lively! We've got some traditional and digital artists for this week and a variety of styles so make sure to check them all out after the break!

As usual, these posts are in similar style to the Tumblr Spotlights, a group of 3-4 artists will be spotlit each entry along with a small short description along with a small selection of their artwork! In order to make this feature work though we need people to suggest artists to us so make sure to send artists you think need some exposure to calpain@equestriadaily.com. Please also include a short biography I can work with as well as what medium you work in most.

What sort of artists count? Suggestions should follow these criteria:

    • No clop or extensive gore galleries as those typically violate our content guidelines. If the artist has a safe for work gallery separate from their not safe for work stuff they or their fans can submit the safe for work gallery. If there is a mix of SFW/NSFW on a gallery the decision whether or not to include them will be judged on a gallery to gallery basis.
    • Don't be afraid to spotlight yourself as well as others!
    • Artists of all types accepted -vector, OC, traditional, digital. As long as it is pony and of quality it has a chance of being spotlit.
    Now on to the artists!

    Fralininin

When I said we'd have variety today I wasn't joking! First up is a relative unknown with only 2500 pageviews which is a shame considering the quality and variety of art this artist provides. Fralininin not only specializes in ponies like our header up there, but does a wonderful job with anthros and even humanizations. Fra's style consists of a charming paint like feel that is just slightly blurred for effect, but can be as crisp and warm as you can see again in the header and in the human Fluttershy below.

    Aosion

Next one up is one of my personal favorites! With a smooth, clean style combined with incredibly cute ponies Aosion is sure to melt even the coldest of hearts. Bright and happy colors are what mainly compose Aosion's pieces which complements the general happy mood found in most of his pics.If you're in a sour mood and need some cheering up, check him out!

    Nika191319

While most of the art we see is digital, we do have a number of traditional artists out there and it's nice to see more coming into the pony fold! Our next artist is a real newcomer with less than a thousand pageviews, but they are already showing some promise. Most of Nika's art is done in traditional color pencil or greyscale with each of their works rendered in incredible detail and warmth, especially when color pencil is used. Take a look and give her page a visit and leave some feedback!

    Left2Fail

Next on our plate is an artist that excels not only in ponies, but drawing griffons, bat ponies, and even humanized! Left2Fail utilizes a nice crisp style that is similar to show style, but with her own little tweaks to the make the style her own. While her characters are nice and neat, her backgrounds also add a lot to her images, giving them an expression a pony on a white background alone wouldn't muster.

    ElkaArt

Last but not least is ElkaArt! As I've mentioned in previous spotlights there are a number of artists that blur the line between digital and traditional by applying a touch to there work that makes one look like the other. Elka does just that with an amazing style that makes digital look like it was really painted on a canvas! Elka's ponies are often in epic and darker situations than we usually see our happy ponies in, but it really works. Utilizing a blurry sort of painting style, Elka's work ends up seeming almost surreal as if you were looking into a dream. Take a look!
