Amy Mebberson, vendor registration at BronyCAN 2014
We have more great news for BronyCAN 2014 that’s sure to brighten your Monday!
BronyCAN is exceptionally fortunate to be based in the same province where the show itself is produced, but that doesn’t stop us from reaching out to guests who’ve contributed to the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series in other formats! And so we are pleased as punch to announce Amy Mebberson as one of our guests of honor for BronyCAN 2014! Best known for being the principal artist for issues #5-8 of the MLP comic book series, along with several of the Micro-series issues. Amy has been a comic book artist on other well-loved series such as The Muppets, Strawberry Shortcake and many works from Disney including Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, and more. Amy will be at BronyCAN 2014 for the entire weekend to participate in events and meet fans of the comic book series!
And that’s not all! We know that many of you have been waiting very eagerly for this announcement, so we’re pleased to announce that vendor hall registration is open this year! This is the chance for those of you who wish to sell pony merchandise, art works, and more at BronyCAN 2014. The prices will be $50 for a vendor pass, $50 for a half table, and $100 for a full table, with all prices in $CAD. Please get your table through our registration system while we still have space in our vendor’s hall!
Don’t forget to reserve your room at the Executive! Book alone or with friends or family and you’ll only be steps away from all the excitement at the convention. Use our promo code “BRONYCAN” and you’ll earn a sweet discount, as well as complimentary extras: overnight parking, high-speed Wi-Fi, and access to the airport shuttle. You can head right to the booking page here.
And finally (for now), we are still very eager to hear your panel ideas for BronyCAN 2014! Just submit through our application and share your passions on writing, art, costuming, music, and more with your fellow fans! Our programming application can be found here.
BABSCon Just Got More Colorful....
We are pleased to announce Andy Price, the amazing My Little Pony Comic artist from IDW, as our next Guest of Honor. Andy has had his hand in some of the most memorable comics of the series, including the Changeling Arc, the first four issues of the series that helped kickstart the comic’s rather impressive sales record!
When Andy isn’t sketching pretty pastel ponies being thrown into mortal danger, he’s drawing something else! Beyond comics he’s known to do advertising, storyboards, book covers, book illustrations, trading cards, and more! He has worked with such renowned companies as DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Rittenhouse Archives, Image Comics, SLG Publishing, and Innovation Comics.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Andy in our Vendor Hall too! Who knows, you might even find that he’s being accompanied by doppelgangers of a nefarious sort...Or perhaps, a another intrepid IDW-affiliated mastermind!
Until next time...Stay tuned!

BronyScot Date and Venue Announcement
On behalf of the BronyScot Events Committee I am proud to be making the announcement that BronyScot 2014 will be held at the Hilton Grosvenor Hotel in the wonderful City of Edinburgh. The event will be taking place over the weekend of the 11th and the 12th of October. We’re extremely excited about the venue for numerous reasons. It is in the heart of the city, just down Princes Street and close to Haymarket Station. It’s very easy to get to from pretty much anywhere in the city. A short 15 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley Station, or next to no time via bus or tram.
It’s a great venue, with a main hall that can seat three hundred people, that then leads out into a bustling vendor area. Then there are plenty of large breakaway rooms which will house all sorts of fun activities during the event.
We hope you can join us for Scotland’s first brony convention!

Silly Filly Studios Heading to Midwest Media Expo
(From their Tumblr)
Hey everyone!! Big update from everyone here at the team!
We’ve mentioned it in passing once or twice, but we wanted to put out an official announcement here—The team is an official guest of honor (or guests, we suppose) at the Midwest Media Expo coming up this April! The Midwest Media Expo is a premier 3-day convention in Detroit, Michigan, from April 25th-27th in the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. We are trying to get as many of the team to the convention as possible so that we can get a chance to meet everyone as a group, but right now we know at least three of the team members who will be there:
Marshal “Zedrin” Watson: Our team’s head animator, he directed a good deal of our past animations, working on the art, animation, and audio assembly for many projects including Snowdrop. He is currently in charge of our next project, Fall of the Crystal Empire, and is leading up concepts for a yet-to-be-announced animation.
Meredith Sims: Originally brought in as the group’s Futtershy, she was the creative mind behind Snowdrop as the writer and voice of the animation’s namesake. She is currently working as the concept and writing lead behind our latest (and again, yet-to-be-announced) project.
Spencer Moran: Spencer is a jack-of-all-trades voice actor for the group, but you all might know him best as “Donut Steel”. He was the creative lead behind that project, and is currently serving as a writer for the next (yet-to-be-announced) animation project.
As more of our team members are confirmed to appear, we will be letting you all know through updates.
We plan on hinting a bit more of what we’re working on right now at this convention in April, so for anyone who comes to see us, you’ll be the first to know our next plans. But, more importantly, this convention is where we plan to give an early premiere of “Fall of the Crystal Empire”! Attendees will be the first able to see the completed project!
The website for the convention is right here. This is where you all can register and look up information on how to get to the con. We’re really hoping to see you all there—not only will we be there, but tons of other special guests will be about, including Vic Mignogna, G.D. Falksen, Lewis “Linkara” Lovhaug, Ken Pontac, and a bunch of others that we can’t even tell you about yet…but we know you’ll be ridiculously excited about them! So make sure you’ll be there! We can’t wait to see you!!
Japan PonyCon is proud to announce... Andrea Libman!
Andrea Libman, voice of Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, will be
participating in a live skype video call to Japan PonyCon!
For about an hour, Ms. Libman will be speaking of her roles on My
Little Pony, and then answering questions from the audience.
She will also choose a theme for artists for the day, and the top
entries chosen by Andrea will win prizes!
Come on out and see the person behind the voices of the elements of
Laughter and Kindness, and have your question asked live!

BronyCon Completes the Power Trio with Artist Andy Price
(Baltimore, Md.)—BronyCon is excited to fill out the power trio who originally brought us the “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” comic series by bringing artist Andy Price to Baltimore this Summer!
Prior to his work for IDW Publishing, Price did illustrations on card sets for Rittenhouse/Marvel. On his Deviant Art page, Price calls himself a brony and notes that he is an old-school illustrator who always does his work by hand, not digitally.
