    Tonight's Successful Meetups

    Royal Guard Paintball Team

We had an awesome time playing the Go Paintball Event! We played some strong matches and learned a lot. We're really starting to pick up our game! Although we didn't place in this event, we are definitively making some headway in our careers. Congratulations to the teams who made the podium, we'll see you up there soon!

As always, the Guard is looking for players who are interested in playing paintball competitively. Along with making new friends and memories, you'll be representing the Brony community in a positive light. Our goal is to bridge the two communities together, all while sharing the magic of friendship with those around us. If you're in the San Diego area, join up!

We plan on playing the entire GPL series, so we'll see you out on the field!

    Tonight's Groups Looking For More

    Writers Wanted

It’s that time once more. To avoid making this a super long-winded post, let’s get to it. Basically, we need more writers. If writing for Starswirl Academy sounds appealing to you, now’s your chance to make that happen. We’ll be opening up applications for the next two weeks. Working on a project for free is a tricky thing. Balancing work and life can be difficult enough without throwing a ton of writing into the mix. If that doesn't scare you, here’s what you’ll need to do to apply:

Using the demo as a guide, your task is to write a scene that takes place the following day. Show Tom meeting one of the main heroines for the second time. You aren't bound by any restrictions except for making sure the scene fits in with the continuity established in the demo. As an official team member, you'll have the ability to break rules and change things, but for now, be as 'canon' as you possibly can. You may include side characters that were not included in the demo, but if it’s not obvious who it’s supposed to be, please make a note of it (remember, no OC).

There is no minimum or maximum length for this writing exercise. Use the demo as a guide and use your judgement to figure out how long the scene needs to be. If you're familiar with Ren'Py script formatting, use that. If not, standard script format is just fine.

Send your finished scenes to [email protected] by SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH. Please attach it as a Word document or link a shared Google document. Do not paste it into the body of the email. The email subject should be “Writer Application - Your Name”. Please be sure to give us your preferred name, age, Skype handle (interviews and development happen on Skype), and a link to any work you’ve done in the past that you’d like us to see. A brief bio is appreciated, but not required.

    Good luck everyone!
