Hey again everyone! Sorry for no Roundup last night as I spent too long in an arcade in Cincinnati and got home really late. At least I was able to nab a Sega Saturn and a copy of Panzer Dragoon while I was at it!

Ponibooru Film Night
Poster artist DaisyHead here. Our movie of the week is Robot Jox. A cult classic
sci-fi film set in a post-apocalyptic future. Because what else would the state of
the future be in? 50 years after the world was ravaged by a nuclear holocaust,
war has been out-right banned somehow, and all disputes must be solved with
giant robot battles. Which sounds awesome on paper. The world is left with two
factions, The Market and The Confederation. The main character Achilles, is set
to finished his final contractual match and is famous for being the only one to win
all his matches in the fights. His final match ends with the deaths of over 300
spectators at his own hands and ends in a draw. A conference is held to decide
the outcome and it's declared inconclusive. Regardless, Achilles considers his
contract fulfilled and retires, disappointing everyone. A competition is held to see
who will replace Achilles in the the re-match, a genetically engineered woman
named Athena gets the spot in an absolute upset, in the belief that genetically
engineered people don't deserve the same rights as naturally born humans.
Achilles learns that Athena will be replacing him and believes that she is no where
near good enough for the fight and decides that he will come out of retirement to
settle the score. Like an asshole.

Tonight's Successful Meetups
Bronies of South Florida Meetup
On January 4th, members of the meetup group, "Bronies of South Florida" went to Past Present Future Comics in Lauderhill for their My Little Pony CCG "Win-A-Box" Tournament. 18 bronies competed against each other for a shot at a portion of the box! The Top 4 competitors that got to choose 9 packs from the 36 pack box are William Eilas, Isabel Heyninck, JT Smith, and Christopher Thompson. Everyone that competed also had a shot at a raffle with various pony duel mats and mini-comic sets being given out throughout the tournament.
