As we head into the new year a slew of pony art has already surfaced with each new episode that passes us. Amongst the onslaught are some lesser known artists that create some amazing pieces that don't get the spotlight they deserve. So, join me once again as we spread some light on some of these artists and really let them shine!
As usual, these posts are in similar style to the Tumblr Spotlights, a group of 3-4 artists will be spotlit each entry along with a small short description along with a small selection of their artwork! In order to make this feature work though we need people to suggest artists to us so make sure to send artists you think need some exposure to calpain@equestriadaily.com. Please also include a short biography I can work with as well as what medium you work in most.
What sort of artists count? Suggestions should follow these criteria:
- No clop or extensive gore galleries as those typically violate our content guidelines. If the artist has a safe for work gallery separate from their not safe for work stuff they or their fans can submit the safe for work gallery. If there is a mix of SFW/NSFW on a gallery the decision whether or not to include them will be judged on a gallery to gallery basis.
- Don't be afraid to spotlight yourself as well as others!
- Artists of all types accepted -vector, OC, traditional, digital. As long as it is pony and of quality it has a chance of being spotlit.

Amethyst-City
Today's artists are a mix of traditional and digital, with our first being a relative newcomer to the pony scene! Amethyst-City, whose Flutterbat piece highlights this entry, may be new but her traditional artwork is full of style, charm, and warmth. While her gallery is small at the moment, I have no doubts it will continue to fill with beautiful work, pony and non-pony. Keep up the great work, Amethyst!

Mattings
Next up on our traditional art tour is Mattings. Simply put, his work is incredibly charming and very humorous at times. Whether it is the CMC at Christmas, Rainbow chewing on her wing, or general pony silliness there is certainly something in there that will make you smile. And while Mattings is primarily a traditional artist, he has done some digital work as well that maintains the same character you can expect from his traditional works. Check him out!

Cappy-Aura
Leading into a more digital arena is the artwork of Cappy-Aura. Utilizing a wide range of colors as well as intricate backgrounds her artwork appears incredibly vibrate and full of life. Whether it be a bubbly Derpy in the clouds or a dark and grim work of art, Cappy is able to find some way to interest you.

CitrusKing46
Last up for today is a unique digital artist that has broke into the pony scene with an adorably unique style! Citrus' ponies may be exaggerated, but they are all the more adorable because of it. With a crisp, clean style and just the right amount of charm it's hard not to smile at these renditions of our favorite characters.
