The hype train had just
gone to plaid. With this episode being the only thing between the fandom and the much-anticipated (or much-dreaded) season finale, the tension in the air was palpable.
This episode took us back to where the season began, in the Crystal Empire, still as decorated with its namesake as ever- but that isn't the only thing from a recent outing that gets referenced here. As is made abundantly clear by the beginning and ending sequences, this episode also takes place at the exact same time as
Just For Sidekicks, the previous episode. I certainly recall people getting very confused when the introduction ran for the pony's side of the story, thinking that perhaps the previous episode was being aired by mistake. Whether that would have been a good thing or not is left as an exercise to the reader.
