Nightly Roundup #759
by Calpain
After promising to put Sea Swirl up for tonight's header I remember that we were trying to give lesser featured ponies the spotlight some time ago! Let's start that up again so leave a comment down below for your choice of lesser featured equines!
As for the news, a fair bit today and pretty varied so hopefully there is a little bit for everyone. Check it all out after the break!

Twilight has wings, Discord is Fluttershy's best buddy, Rainbow Dash is attending the Wonderbolts Training Academy, and Trixie is Great and Apologetic! Season 3 changed a whole bunch of stuff about the show we love, and season four is sure to move us forward even more.
With Twilight's new princess status, the pilot is going to be one of the most interesting we have seen yet. We got a glimpse at what she has confronted so far via Equestria Girls, but the majority of that took place in the Crystal Empire. How will her life in Ponyville's Library change? Will she be moving into her own castle? The mysteries are endless!
So what do you think the pilot will cover? Are you expecting a new villain? Hit the comments up! -
[Comedy][Shipping] "I think I've yet to encounter a more convincing portrayal of Applejack's parents than what I found in this story. Every character here feels like they've sprung straight out of the show, and the backstories presented here are convincing. Don't pass this up 'just because it's 'Tavi and Vinyl.'" -- Pre-reader CouchCrusader

Description: Octavia has a musical history and a side to herself she'd rather not have to explain outside of Ponyville. Inside Ponyville... well, everything is fine until she spots Vinyl Scratch. What is she doing here?
Fiddlesticks!

For those of you collecting all the brushable ponies, including the g4 version of that oldschool Minty pony, the new set that was revealed a while back has popped up at a Costco store for 30 bucks by Lady Starflower on MLP Arena. As with most stores, it may be wise to call ahead before making the trip. Thanks to Candygram for the heads up. -

College Humor has done another short video on the brony thing. If you aren't afraid to laugh at yourselves (or at least a portion of the fandom), it can be pretty entertaining. If you are easily offended, you should probably avoid it though.
Head on over here to check it out! -
More random figures have popped up over on Taobao. It's looking like a transluscent lineup is going to be releasing some time in the future. Thunderlane can be found here, Fluttershy here, and the last pony over here.
If the usual timetables are indication, expect these some time in the later fall/early winter.

We Love Fine has released five more shirts in their Equestria Girls line, along with one with a bit of pony included. I wonder how well these are doing so far? I'd hazard a guess that the purely pony does a bit better. Anyway, find these over here.

This is missing something, and I'm pretty sure I know what it is. Would also have accepted Smash Mouth, but when has anyone ever known me to go with the direct option? That's what I thought. Today is sure to get you fired up, with another 279 passionate ponies burning up the night sky. We're going supernova on this event, with a grand total to date of 7753 images! We're still on track for 10,000 total, we can make it happen!
Speaking of which, here's a quick little reminder that our second makeup gallery is still open, and it'll stay that way until the end of Friday! If you've got some missed work you'd like to turn in, or think you have it in you for another crack at our older prompts, this is your chance to prove it. Go for it with gusto! And of course if you've got any questions, feel free to hit me up at [email protected]
With that out of the way... it's time to oil up! Our gallery tonight is burning, surging, full of overwhelming passion! You've reached the end of our Expression Week with the same passion, creativity, and drive that you came into it with, drawing a whole host of different ponies in different styles and interpretations, with numbers a plenty. Summer may be reaching its end, but I can still feel the heat!
And with that we've reached the climax of our third week of pony training. It's been one heck of a ride, I think you'd all agree. Starting tomorrow, our themes are going to start getting more fun and playful, expanding in scope a little to let you run around and test the limits of what you've developed so far. But for tonight, I thought it would be nice to let everyone give voice and a face to something I know a lot of you are feeling. Tonight, Draw an exhausted pony/Draw a pony burning out. Submit all entries here by 11:59 PM, Pacific time on Thursday, September 5.
A very special friend of mine has a birthday coming up, so I will be handing things over to Calpain's capable hooves through Friday, but I will be back for the weekend and together we'll ride this thing all the way to the finish line. Though you may be feeling tired, don't give up! The end is right there. Reach out for it!
