Named after series creator Lauren Faust, the Laurie Awards are a celebration of the wonderfully talented artists in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fandom, and the collaborations that they have made. Unlike the Oscars or the Grammys, there is no lavish show designed to waste three and a half hours of your life. This is to give credit where credit is due, and to give merit to outstanding collaborations made by all of the excellent talent in this fandom.
In short, the Laurie is an award given for outstanding achievement in a particular field of a fanmade audio or animation production. The award is decided by a jury of voters currently involved in some aspect with the creative industry, either as workers, artists, critics, etc. Each juror is screened prior to being named to the jury, thus preventing foul play of any sort, keeping this process a private matter, and withholding the possibilities of this becoming a popularity contest. All projects, big and small, have an equal opportunity in this event.

We had a very successful meetup on the 26th of October to celebrate Halloween! There was much spoopiness.
Alongside all of the glorious costumes, both pony and non-pony related, we had a glorious spot of coffee at the Starbucks, a lovely drink and bite at the pub before heading out shopping, in that time, having a small quiz about ponies and their costumes from Luna Eclipsed. Pretty much everyone was confused, but it seemed to go down well.
After that, we headed to Forbidden Planet for comics, merch and other such stuff before heading to the Subway to have another bite to eat before everyone headed off in the pouring rain.
We had a maximum turn out of 22, which was great considering most of the regulars were not in Bristol at the time.
