Cutie marks are pretty easy to understand in theory- they show up on your butt and represent what your special place or talent in life is. Usually you'd get one after discovering said talent, which is a little weird, but we'll let it slide. This episode introduced another piece to the cutie mark lore, namely that of The Cutie Pox, a disease that affects a pony that causes them to be a wonderful candidate for a show on TLC.
For anyone who wasn't a fan of Applebloom, this episode might not have had a lot to offer. For everyone else, we had another appearance by Zecora, and (frankly, a wonderful) direct reference in the bowling alley scene to one of Lauren Faust's favorite films, The Big Lebowski.
