• Pony Baking Event - Make Cake, Win Signed Stuff and Equestria Girls Blu-Rays!

For a good a year or so, Calpain and I have been sorting endless supplies of delicious pony cakes in the Nightly Roundups. It's time to take this trend to a new level! It's time to GET BAKING!

Shout Factory has given us three blu-ray Equestria Girls DVD's in honor of its release today, as well as 3 signed posters with the following big names on each:
Tara Strong (Va for Twilight Sparkle)
Andrea Libman (VA For Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie)
    Cathy Weseluck (VA For Spike)
    Jayson Thiessen (Director)
    Daniel Ingram (Composer)
    Meghan McCarthy (Head Writer)
Now that prizes are out of the way, lets continue on to what is required of all of you!  Head on down below the break for full contest rules!

What do I need to bake?

We aren't limiting this just to cake.   If you can creatively make a pony out of Pizza, cookies, muffins, eclairs, pie, bread, or whatever you want then go for it! The only rule here is, you are not allowed to use a printed design on whatever you plan to make.   There are quite a few ways to make this happen, have some examples:

    Pony Colored/background:

Not able to draw pony with icing? No problem! Make something creative with their colors, or make a background scene and toss some ponies on it. You can even craft the MMMystery express cake if you'd like.

    Pony Shaped:

Shape the entire thing like a pony! This would probably be a good idea if you don't plan on making it out of actual cake.

    Example:

    Drawn Pony:

If shape isn't your thing, grab an icing wand and draw a pony!

    Example:

    What is not allowed:

    • "Power Rangers" is not pony
    • Printed designs are not allowed.

    How will prizes work?

There will be two tiers for these!

    Grand Prize:
A group of artists from the fandom will be voting on two grand prize winners.  Each will receive one Blu-ray and one signed poster mentioned above.

    Random Prize:
The final Blu-ray/Poster set will be given out at random to all who enter the contest (Unless they won a grand prize of course).

    What is the deadline?

Expect submissions to close at 11:59 PM Pacific Time on August 15th!  There may be a slight cushion for late baked goods, but don't rely on it.

    Where do I send them?

We will be using our submission system.  Simply click the "Pony Baking Event!" and fill in the blanks with your entry.  There will be a maximum of two submissions per person, so take some good pictures!

A tutorial for grabbing the URL of an image can be found below.  We will not be taking direct image submissions, so make sure you follow it!

    Safety

Working with a hot oven and steaming baked good can be dangerous.  Make sure to  have an experienced cook present (Especially if you are young), as well as safe baking equipment.

Good luck! And most important of all: Have fun with it!
