It's been a long time since our last papercraft post; I just don't see them very often! Tonight I've got a handful of papercrafts for those of you out there that love to make little paper ponies. Random Merch: Puzzle Books, Belts, Birthday Cards, Magazines, and White Celestia's Lines

Time for more of that random merchandise you all love so much!  Hasbro's domination of the world continues along at an astounding rate.  It looks like we will soon have Twilight Sparkle plastered on to just about every object in our houses. 

First off, we have a puzzle book (Going for 7.95 CDN) spotted in Calgary by an observant brony going by the name of Holly.  Apparently it was buried in a bin filled with g3 merch. Perhaps it's a scheme to get us newbie pony fiends to check out older generation stuff? Sneaky! 

We also have yet another birthday card, this time with some Scootaloo.  She doesn't get nearly enough love.   Thanks to Meagen for that one (found below).

Hot Topic  expanded their inventory with yet another belt, this time focusing on Rainbow Dash.  Sears has also picked up the Derpy Belt from a while back.  Thanks to Ginger Snap for digging that up. 

And finally, Germany is being invaded by a yet another new magazine.  Our number one Italian reporter, Taliesin,  sent over a whole pile of images from his recent purchase of the thing.  We have posted the comics out of this one before, but never the normal pages.  Find all of those after the break, including a plastic diary thing that comes with it.  He also confirmed that the white talking Celestia Toy has the same lines as the pink one.  Apparently they got their hands on one early.  At least she is white, right?

Tara Strong Being Awesome (Again)

A few days back, Tara Strong had to cancel her appearance at the Knoxville Comic and Anime show.  This was a pretty sad announcement for those that were planning on attending, including a disabled fan going by the name of Dragon.  After noticing the mother posting a comment on her Facebook wall about it, Tara did the best thing she could, she called up dragon and talked to him in Twilight Sparkle's voice. 

Have the exact dialogue from their Livejournal account:

Tara:  Is this Dragon?
Dragon:  ...yes.
Tara:  Do you know who this is?
Dragon:  Yes, it's Twilight Sparkle.

Dragon:  Tara, you are so talented with all those voices you do.
Tara: Yes, yes I am, aren't I?

Tara: (in Twilight's voice) I love you, Dragon.
Dragon: (stunned, muttering) ...love you, too, Twilight.

Tara: Dear Princess Celestia, today I got to talk to an awesome person named Dragon.
Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.

Tara and Dragon: Sunshine, Sunshine, ladybugs awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!

Tara: (in Raven's voice) Dragon, if anyone bothers you about liking My Little Pony, I'll kick their butts.

Can Tara Strong get anymore awesome?   This has since gone viral all over the internet.   Hopefully Dragon will get his chance to meet her face-to-face in the future, but until then, It's not often a voice actor actually calls you up directly!

Bronyville Episode 57 - EQD edition

Another week, another bronyville! We actually showed up on this one livestreamed a few days ago. Have some copy paste!

Dear Princess Celestia,
I hope you are having a wonderful morning. I sent along a fruit basket this week. All I had were grapefruits and I hope you do enjoy them. I tend to prefer a little sour in the morning as it wakes me up rather well. This week on my show I had the EQD staffers Sethisto, Phoe, Cereal, and Calpain on for a little bit of Q&Neigh talk. We covered news, user questions, got serenaded in call ins, and detailed awesome shark and goat based versions of our favorite ponies.

Cereal Velocity and Phoe Interview John De Lancie

You might have heard of this guy John De Lancie! He played a pretty popular draconequus and is making this documentary about some group of nutjobs called bronies. Phoe and I thought it would be a good idea to ask him some questions to see if he was legit or not. Turns out he is. Imagine that.

In this fifty-minute interview with John we talk about the similarities of the growing brony fandom to the Star Trek fandom that he was a huge part of, discuss his plans and hopes for the Bronycon documentary, and generally sit back and let him explain to us his vision of what he plans to accomplish with it. I invite you to sit back and do the same thing we did- bask and absorb. If you have doubts or questions about what the documentary could be, this will answer them.

PBS Idea Channel: Are Bronies Changing the Definition of Masculinity?

What's this? A positive brony media release? How could it be? That never happens! The PBS idea channel over on Youtube has dropped a really neat 5 minute video on the pony craze, and asks the audience an important question: Are we changing Masculinity?

What do you guys think? Are we getting big enough to actually have an effect?
