Somewhere Only We Know by Patchwork Poltergeist
Starting off this week's edition is one of the saddest fics in the fandom. Released in June 2011, this story combines the joy of what it is to be a pony with a very dark twist and is one of the few fan fics out there to incorporate humans with great success.
The fic has proven so popular that it has even been parodied by the comical Rainbow Dash Presents series which you can find here.
Description: Every night in a little stable just outside of town, the mare lays down to sleep. And every night she has the same dream about her and her friends.

Antipodes by PK
Antipodes comes to us from our very own PK (see he does do something while he's in his closet!) back in March 2011. Combining OC ponies with an epic storyline, it was one of the very first pony stories to prove that OC stories not only can be successful, but awesome as well.
Description: Set in the far future after Celestia and Luna mysteriously vanished and the sun and moon froze in the sky, Antipodes the the story of two ponies thrust out into the harsh new world on an adventure to uncover what happened to the world so long ago.

Arddun Lleuad by Pride
Released in April 2011, Arddun Lleuad was a story about a human stuck in Equestria that not only was able to tell an epic story that clocked in at 30,000 words (comparison, my whole thesis is only 12,000) but also managed to buck the trend of human in Equestria stories being terrible.
Description: Chester Llewellyn was not prepared to fight for his very life on the alien planet that had suddenly become his reality, following a sickening experience that nearly tore him apart at the seams. Creatures of myth and legend hunt for his blood as he simply tries to survive, totally unaware of the Equestrian utopia not miles away.
But they are aware of him. Equestria is seeking Chester, enough to send the legendary war hero of Canterlot to personally track him down. His ravenous curiosity at the alien horse species, the brilliant tactics of his hunter, and the beasts of his forest-home that would tear him to pieces in a split second barely come close to the effect that the moon in the night sky has upon him, changing his world and his life completely.
And somewhere out there, at the tallest point of Equestria, somepony needs Chester, and fast.
A 30,000-word shipping epic, Arddun Lleuad attempts to combat the intense stigma of giving a human and a pony a meaningful, romantic relationship while providing a story that simply cannot be put down.Arddun Lleuad Story Page
On A Cross and Arrow by Conner Cogwork
Our last entry for this week's Blast post is the story that heavily accelerated the pony R63 trend due to it's overwhelming popularity! Released back in late June 2011, the story details the exploits of Twilight and the gang after being teleported to another dimension thanks to another botched spell by poor Twi. Check out the full description and links below!
Description: Twilight and her five friends are transported during a botched spell, across dimensions to... Ponyville, Equestria? But not the same one that they knew. Sitting on a bench is Harpsy and Babar. The Doctoress avoids apples from an aspiring Applebuck. And in a library across town, six stallions join their forces as they try to decipher the appearance of filly look-alikes of themselves around Ponyville!
