Oooh, I hope we get some juicy stuff! c8<
ReplyDeleteGossip can't wait for more cmc
ReplyDeletestandard anti-gossip episode idea. Also, first?
ReplyDeleteA gossip column? Hmmm, I wonder what the newspaper will be called...
ReplyDeleteHMMMM...
Oh here we go...
ReplyDeleteThis looks interesting!
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't seem good.
ReplyDelete@jrk08004
ReplyDeleteNope, Chuck Testa.
I see....
ReplyDeleteSounds.. interesting.
ReplyDeleteStory one: Pinkie Pie turns ponies into cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteStory two: Rainbow Dasg turns ponies into Spectra at the Rainbow Factory!
Scootaloo is now...
ReplyDeleteSTALKERLOO
I hope.
Not really.
But I do hope for some Excellent Scootaloo, considering she probably doesn't have a solo episode this season, unless they opt for two CMC episodes in a row.
Been done a lot, but the CMC take everything to the extreme. Should be interesting!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that newspapers will be canon, Derpy will be somewhere hiding, and Rainbow Dash will be one of the ponies that gets hurt by their stories.
ReplyDeleteHmmm the episodes released recently have been rather... predictable?
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a Spongebob episode, but I know for a fact that this episode will be way better than the spongebob one.
ReplyDelete5 episodes in a row and no breaks, yay
ReplyDeleteNot the biggest fan of CMC or their episodes, but I'll reserve my judgement until it airs.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the Equestrian Inquirer's response to this episode.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if want
ReplyDeleteMore CMC? Whatever :/
ReplyDeleteI want my Scootaloo darnit!
OFF THE RECORD...
ReplyDeleteON THE CUTIE...
AND VERY HUSH-HUSH NOW QUIET NOW...
(please tell me someone else has seen the masterpiece that is L.A. Confidential)
@Nymo
ReplyDeleteWould they do another shout out and call the newspaper Equestria Daily?
Nothing good ever seems to come from gossip. And the way the CMC seem to take things to the next level, it's pretty much sure to turn the town upside down.
ReplyDeletethe island
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling this episode is going to be a MASSIVE fanon killer.
ReplyDelete@Nymo
ReplyDeleteThis is an opportunity for the biggest and best brony shoutout yet....
Would really love a Scootaloo episode, but I am ok with more CMC.
ReplyDelete@Eric Cramer
ReplyDeleteExtra! extra! Read all about it!
Rainbow Dash caught behind the barn with....
I hear Fluttershy sleeps naked.
ReplyDelete@Elliptisoar Considering it's still a show aimed at younger viewers, of course there will be some predictability. I'm sick of hearing how such and such is predictable.
ReplyDeleteThis summary sounds a little bit like "Bloo Done It" from "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, well sort of. Am I alone here?
The show will only be predictable when it falls prey to what I call the "bonnie and clyde" effect. This is were a show in its last or second to last season runs out of ideas and decides to do a bonnie and clyde episode to try and seem fresh and timeless. This results in an episode featuring a gangster duo were one is the manipulative female with the Brooklyn accent and the other is the offish brute that obeys her every whim. This is always the death knell for the show, and trust me MLP will have one. Every show from Batman to lilo and stitch the series had a b&c episode im their last or second to last season before cancellation. Until then I look forward to seeing some great mlp episodes!
ReplyDelete@Astrophel Agonistes
ReplyDeleteThat's not just gossip... because I've got the pics to prove it!
Cutie Mark Crusader Libelists?
ReplyDelete@Matthais123 Maybe they'll bond over their shared mental disorders.
ReplyDelete@Bolan With ....? Damn, .... is one lucky pony :P!
Depending on what bits of gossip the CMC manage to dig up, this could be highly amusing or a disappointment. Let's hope the Mane 6 get up to some interesting stuff when they're off screen..
inb4 PRIVACY INVATER CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS
ReplyDeleteSo this is episode 23, right?
ReplyDeleteAnd there will be 26 episodes this season (like the first one).
Also we already know that the last two episodes will be the season finale involving Princess Cadence and Shining Armor.
So...
THERE'S ONLY ONE EPISODE LEFT WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT! =O
inb4 the writers use this plot device to crush fanon they dislike.
ReplyDeletePleeeeease focus on Scootaloo... make this her episode!
ReplyDeleteCUTIE MARK CRUSADER LIFE DESTROYERS!
ReplyDeleteYAAAAAAYYY!
@One Radical Dude
ReplyDelete"I'm sick of hearing how such and such is predictable."
exactly. this is my little pony here. it isn't exactly breaking bad. if you wanted plot twists, you chose the wrong show.
and no, not putting in twists is not playing it down for kids. these children have never seen the straightforward plot before. it isn't a predictable plot to them because, no matter how smart they are, they simply aren't familiar with most cliches yet.
sort of the "if I haven't seen it, it's new to me." mentality.
my guess is, it will be all fun and games, and the false gossip, while harmful, is relatively benign when it gets shot down... until one of the rumors turns out to be true, and really ends up hurting somepony.
ReplyDelete"Fuck this shit"(c)
ReplyDeleteWe clearly didn't have enough CMC this season, no sir.
Sounds so awesome
ReplyDeleteCant wait for this! Well can't wait for all the episodes.
ReplyDeleteAirs the day after my birthday. Sounds like it will be an awesome episode.
ReplyDeleteIn 1st season i didn't like CMC that much, but in 2nd, they are my favorite trio. Scootaloo is the best pony.
ReplyDeleteThis just in: Scootaloo is, in fact, a chicken.
ReplyDeleteto be honest, this sounds kinda like that ed edd n eddy episode where eddy writes off a bunch of lies to sell more newspapers
ReplyDeleteHearts and Hooves Day will forever remain the only decent/good CMC Episode.
ReplyDeleteFrom here on it'll be 'more cliches, because parents can't show their kids their secret stash of old cartoons with those very same cliches'.
A CMC episode released on my birthday... Meh, I'll take what I can get.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't fill me with confidence, but I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised. I was really hoping for a Scootaloo centric episode before the end of the season.
ReplyDeleteSpent the last 10 minutes trying to come up with a Pony pun name for "Rupert Murdoch" but couldn't do it. T___T
ReplyDelete@MachinimistLuke
ReplyDeleteit's only a cliche if it is overused. it's only overused if you've seen it a million times.
there's no way the target audience has seen it a million times. at least one should hope they haven't been watching that much TV.
"Applejack and Rainbow Dash: dating? - read more on page 6!"
ReplyDeleteI am calling this as a disappointment before it airs. The only good CMC episode was Cutie Mark Chronicles. Weird, I love the CMC themselves, just not what they do in their episodes.
ReplyDeleteFor the last time, to the people calling this stuff predictable.
ReplyDeleteWhen has a children's show NOT been predictable? It's supposed to feature some rather simple stuff. The end result is always easy to predict.
What I always look forward to are the small twists, the humor, animation, BGM, voice acting and just in general fun and quality. The stories have never been super spectacular. They are limited by their intended audience, and it's a pretty good thing to remember that we are not, in fact, the intended audience.
Hmm... I'm not that excited for another CMC episode, hopefully it will suprise for good, hopefully...
ReplyDeleteROTFL gossips FTW
ReplyDeleteIf there's a newspaper and it's called Equestria Daily I might shit bricks
@Adrian Brony and Eclipse
ReplyDeleteMore than a kids show being an expected place for stock plots, the great thing about MLP episodes is certainly what's stuffed within that 22 minute framework. Sure it's great when we do get a Lesson Zero that's so off the wall, but not every episode can be that. Even a generally well spoken of episode like Green Isn't Your Color is your general "don't be afraid to tell your friends the truth" episode if you take out the "FOREVER"s and Photo Finish.
This presents a LOT of opportunities for naming background ponies. Prepare for huge fan service or major disappointment.
ReplyDelete@Bolan .... pile of sci-fi books, closet egg head or strange reading spot?
ReplyDeleteA classic idea, but definitly not a bad one. I'll be looking forward to this!
ReplyDeleteBut still, we've had a Sweetie Belle/Rarity episode, and a few Apple Bloom ones...when are we finally going to get an episode about Scootaloo?!
Let me guess, the newspaper will be called new Of the world and the cutie mark crusaders will hack everypony's voicemail. Good to see Hasbro staying relevant.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious if it will be that the stories are a "pain in the ass" for other ponies, or if the pain mentioned means emotionally hurting some character. Will the episode be comedy, pathos, or both?.
ReplyDeleteOh dip! Our worst fears have been realized: Equestrian Enquirer is now canon!
ReplyDelete*Inquirer
ReplyDeleteI still don't see "Scootaloo" episode anywhere in that description. Well, hope they don't cause too much havoc... as much as they usually do.... *meep*
ReplyDeleteThat's a bit too many CMC episodes this season if you ask me. I'd at least like an RD and Scootaloo episode sooner or later. But who knows, there could very well be awesome surprises like Derpy becoming canon in any episode so I'm not making assumptions as of yet.
ReplyDeleteby celestia i can only imagine what they put in that column. this is a kids show but we do have quite an influence...
ReplyDeleteCMC, Gossip, Scootallo Chicken.....This can be Interesting
ReplyDeleteIn Ancient Greek theatre EVERYBODY knew what was going to happen. And people still went and watched the plays. Predictability isn't THAT bad.
ReplyDeletecolumn a: Spike has a crush on Rarity
ReplyDeleteLooks like Ponyville will soon learn about Twilight's secret shrine to Celestia hidden in her bedroom
ReplyDeleteThe CMC have really had their fill of episodes! Whoo!
ReplyDeleteThey should rename the show to "The adventures of the Cutie Mark Crusaders (Featuring the Elements of Harmony)"
ReplyDeleteHuh, reminds me a it of this one Baby Sitter's Little Sister book I used to read, where Karen and her friends basically did this exact same thing.
ReplyDeleteSo it's great we have a new episode description, but wait a minute...
We now have episode descriptions for up to four episodes after today's, and we have an extended description for "Dragon Quest".
WHERE'S THE "IT'S ABOUT TIME" EXTENDED SYNOPSIS?!
bet the whole town will be hunting whoever wrote this
ReplyDeleteSo either...
ReplyDelete1. They learn everyone's embarrassing secrets.
2. They make up untrue rumors to sell papers.
The rumor take would result in a better moral, but the secret story would lead to funnier results. Maybe a little of both?
A Rumors/Embarrassing Secrets episode?
ReplyDeleteI knew that would show up someday.
Why does this episode synopsis remind me of the political correctness pony comic that came out not to long ago.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah looking forward to the CMC potentially embarrassing the entire town.
somepony here really watch MLP for plot? srsly guise? guise? srsly?
ReplyDeleteI love how everyone is like "This show is so predictable" yet they haven't even seen the episode yet. Please reserve your judgement until the episode airs.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Scootaloo won't fly until Season 3..
ReplyDelete@GuerreroPerdido
ReplyDeletechickens cant fly

ReplyDeleteMore CMC?
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I LOVE them, but Season 2 was pretty much all about them, at least the second half. I really think the mane 6 should get a bit more attention. I for one think a Rarity episode would go very well right now.
Calling the show predictable is soooo predictable
ReplyDelete@Tealhollow
ReplyDeleteI think a good guess is that a little of #1 will happen but when they run out of true secrets they switch to #2
@Tin Can Sadly, they can't name backgroud ponies by fan-servies for copyright reasons.(even if we agree)
ReplyDeleteThe good new is that one member of the staff(can't remember wich one) said that they didn't gave official names to background ponies. However, it could be no longer true.
This episode synopsis didn't surprise me and was predicable. I hope it will be good, still.
any story can be predictable, it's in the execution that it counts, besides, these stories are meant to teach lessons to younger audiences, it can't always be some Lost twist that is out of left field
ReplyDeletealso pony newspaper
I NEED PICTURES OF PONIES!
@Hetairos. This is EXACTLY what had to be said. If any culture knows about stock plots, it's the Greeks.
ReplyDeleteThe same principal actually applies to certain classic Warner Brothers cartoons. For every "Dover Boys of Pimento University," there's a lot more "Roadrunner" and "Duck Season, Rabbit Season" toons. Chuck Jones himself actually nailed perfectly what made his Roadrunner toons work: You know what's going to happen, and once you have the setup you know how it's going to happen. Still, you watch because it's well made in the first place. It also doesn't act as a limitation as much as a setup full of opportunities.
Equestrian Iquierer
ReplyDeleteThey nailed it dead on the head
I will flip out if fanfics are mentioned or referenced
ReplyDeleteWill that make them canon, or only if the stories are true in the show?
I will flip out if fanfics are mentioned or referenced
ReplyDeleteWill that make them canon, or only if the stories are true in the show?
Three words.
ReplyDeleteThe Krusty Kronicle.
Ahhh Sweetiebelle is still best filly!.... That is all
ReplyDeleteDestroyer is best commenter.
ReplyDeleteOh come on, there hasn't been that many CMC-centered episodes at all this season. If anything, they've been more of a minor story-driving force and now the main focus. The only one I can call up that was the most CMC-focused was Hearts and Hooves. Otherwise, it's been brief cameos by one of the three.
ReplyDeletehaha! just like that spongebob episode! XD episode copy fail
ReplyDeleteI can't wait .. YOU MUST WAIT .. I can't .. YOU MUST....why do you torture me with waiting ......KEEP IT TOGETHER MAN .. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy do I have to wait....KEEP .. IT .. TOGETHER........................ (sigh) I'm going to go crazy during the week but first ..... I really have to stop talking to my self (sees everyone stareing ) how long have you guys been standing there?
ReplyDelete@Flutterfan Rupert (or if you wanna get really far in, Hoofbert) Paddock. ;3
ReplyDeleteAlso, like others have mentioned, it may be an excellent kids' show, but it IS still a kids' show. Gonna have the standard trope episodes in there alongside the fun ones. The devil (or divine) is in the details.
To be honest, as one of my lit teachers said once, if you've read the Odyssey, the Bible, and... I can't remember what the third one was but I think it was something Shakespeare, you've already read every basic storyline in existence. What changes are the characters, the voice, the details, everything that really sells it and matters. So the story is predictable, so what? It's all about the details.
Journalism is now canon in Equestria...if you think gossip is journalism. By the way, if we're getting "Dragon Quest," how much longer until the epic time traveling saga of "Pony Trigger?"
ReplyDelete@Matthais123
ReplyDeleteStory three: Fluttershy turn ponies into his Babies!
well atleast CMC were not mentioning about there cutiemarks these days lol
ReplyDeletemoral i sense in this one is don't start nasty rumors or rumors about people
ReplyDeleteIt sounds delightful.
ReplyDeleteIf the last CMC adventure gave us Jelly Pony, imagine what we'll get from one *specifically about* ponies around town doing embarrassing things...
ReplyDeleteI hope it's for the Equestria Daily! XD
ReplyDeletewell CMC is all nice and stuff
ReplyDeletebut i want an episode especially for scootaloo!!!
Ughh this show needs Lauren back...and fast. The show is becoming waaaaayyy to predictable and turning into just another cartoon.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet one of the stories is Dash on a date with some stallion. Maybe a Wonderbolt?
ReplyDeleteSo much CMC this season.
ReplyDelete:3
Breaking News: Recent disappearances: Coincidence or pissing of Celestia?
ReplyDelete@Flutterguy
ReplyDeleteHOW...DARE..YOU ! THE SHOW IS NOT THAT PREDICT..oh who I'm I kiding yes they need to bring her back or to add some new stuff to the show which by the way they are trying right now to make It unpredictable to keep us guessing that all I've been seeing out of season 2 but either way the show is still good you have to admit
The CMC have been getting a lot of attention this season, but still no Cutie marks? Sigh. Well, it should be a good episode.
ReplyDeleteFunny how people complain about predictability when 4 years ago MLP was the girliest thing ever conceived. Now they can get away with stories about action, character dealing with in-depth problems. And so on.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see a badly done episode that pandered to little girls.
I would go as far as to put Mare Do Well in the "Not Girly" category as well. Studio B is still doing an amazing job in terms of making this show enjoyable for ALL.
But as fan criticism is something we do I guess.
Not doing so could probably hurt development. But a predictable episode summery doesn't tell us anything. Remember the reading episode with RD or Flim and Flam. Turned out awesome.
scootaloo best cmc
ReplyDelete@ Eddmario
ReplyDeleteI've got now record on this disappearances .when was this varifide?
An I the only one who seriously dislikes the cmc
ReplyDeleteYay! More CMC! :D
ReplyDeleteIt's not too unheard of to have similar scenarios played out in television.
ReplyDeleteI think Fry from Futurama said it best when he said, "People don't want twists, they want the same thing they've seen a hundred times!"
It makes it fun to see how each show carries it out.
plot does not matter as much as how the characters move though it. Good characters can make even the most played out plots entertaining. Don't know bout you but its the characters that I watch the show for.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about you guys, but even with the synopsis and the previews put out for us to mull over, I'm still pleasantly surprised by how everything unfolds the day of the episode. Sure, we can make guesses about what happens. And even if we're right, you gotta admit it's still fun to see everything run its course. I sure don't see this season as a disappointment. So I have no doubt that this episode is gonna deliver, CMC style.
ReplyDelete@Rerick513
ReplyDeleteI agree I watch it for the characters first and foremost
The second reason I love this show is the world they've built it's really interesting and thirdly I love the art style of the show
This isn't gonna end well.... as usual
ReplyDelete@Bellatrixed
ReplyDeleteThere alright but they can be kinda ....annoying when they want to be CMC cruser pilots ....hey do you hear thrusters...Oh Mother Of Clesteia not again
Mister X and The Computer Wore Menace Shoes, The Simpsons did this one already.
ReplyDeleteI can't take it anymore. You guys are watching a children's cartoon and are mad at it for being a children's cartoon. Just like it for what it is and love and tolerate
ReplyDelete@Rerick513
ReplyDeleteI agree with this statement totally.
@Justin
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with this one.
I don't dislike the CMC, but this season has certainly felt like its had a greater focus on them. I'm not sure if that's actually the case, though. Apple Bloom was the lead in The Cutie Pox and Family Appreciation Day, Sweetie Belle was the focus in Sisterhooves Social, and they all took the lead in Hearts and Hooves Day. Add this one, and you have five episodes, which matches last season (Bridle Gossip, Call of the Cutie, Stare Master, Show Stoppers and Cutie Mark Chronicles.)
ReplyDeleteThey have shown up in a lot more episodes this year... last year you didn't tend to see them at all if they weren't a major part of the story. This year they have more supporting parts (Return of Harmony, Lesson Zero, Mare-Do-Well, Super-Speedy Cider Squeezy) and cameos (Luna Eclipsed, Secret of My Excess, Hearth's Warming Eve.)
In all honesty, I think it's just the relative scarceness of multiple members of the mane six this year that really makes it feel like supporting characters have taken over the show. As a result, I'm kind of CMC'ed out already myself... but perhaps this has the potential to be like "Cute Mark Chronicles" and focus on the mane six after all.
I believe calling it Equestria Daily would cause Sethisto and the others at EQD to go bananas. No chance of avoiding THAT spoiler.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm definitely looking forward to this episode. It has a fairly bog-standard, obvious moral, and is probably going to be predictable in terms of its overall plot composition, but that's not really the point to the episode. While FIM is fairly ground-breaking in terms of being a quality little girl's cartoon, it's not going to offer up super new concepts every week.
The real nitty gritty of this episode will be the juicy gossip and the way in which it can explore some of the issues around Ponyville, give us some super neat insights into the characters. I also expect it to be used to crush at least some fanon, while possibly give little nods to other pieces of fanon, depending upon which pieces the show creators like and which they dislike. That's not to say I expect, for example, Pinkie to outright say "I don't make ponies into cupcakes!" but I wouldn't be surprised if there was something to at least subtly hint that Princess Celestia is NOT a troll, despite the almost omnipresent belief that she is.
One other thing I'd like to see, if possible, is for Scootaloo to take focus in this episode rather than Sweetie Belle or Apple Bloom. This is the fourth CMC episode we've had this season, so Scoots needs some attention, and if there's anywhere she could shine, it's this. After all, canon does practically endorse her Stalkerloo persona as it is...
@Nymo
ReplyDeleteNot equestria daily, they want a name they have a copyright on.
Inb4 the CMC cause more collateral damage and still don't earn their Cutie Marks
ReplyDeleteI actually like the CMC screwing things up in such an exaggerated and slapstick way, it's a metaphor for all the foolish things children do. I've done a lot of stupid things in my life - even now I do stupid things in adulthood, though not as often. As a result, I enjoy watching the CMC give things their best shot and mess up, they learn from it a little bit (even if it's to not do that particular thing again), and carry on spending time together.
Of course, I don't want them to fail miserably and spectacularly all the time, they deserve the little triumphs they experience, and they ultimately deserve to grow and discover their true identity .
So don't knock the CMC for having a 'predictable' episode. It's quite obvious that their episodes are going to consist of an outlandish scheme that will brilliantly crash and burn. Doesn't that formula remind you of a certain show "Wootie" worked on years ago? About three boys who lived down a cul-de-sac? That show had an impressive run on just that formula for the episode's plots, so don't look down upon the occasional episode of FiM that utilises that tried-and-tested formula.
I'm tired of the CMC having episodes in which they don't get their cutiemarks, it needs to happen already in my opinion. I highly doubt they'll get them this episode.
ReplyDelete@act_deft
ReplyDeleteUnless they air part one as the season finale and part 2 as the 3rd season premiere. Just saying.
Also, why do we need more CMC...I don't wanna see anymore of them this season! I've had enough of them!
@Chris Francis
ReplyDeleteTheir quest for their cutiemarks is a recurring theme and the core of their relationship. They won't get them until the series draws to a close.
@Rerick513
ReplyDeleteExactly. It's the details of how the story is handled that make all the difference. I've read many books where the basic story is familiar, and some authors will actually discuss the source material in the foreword.
I wonder if the people who are complaining about predictability are the same ones who acted as though the news of a new alicorn was the end of the world.
But Hearts and Hooves was a CMC episode and that was a great episode.
ReplyDeleteSo much QQ about "omg no scootaloo single-character-ultra-focus episode QQQQQQ"
ReplyDeleteDo we REALLY need one? TBH I don't really like the episodes that super-focus on just one character.
Hrm. Still waiting for an episode focusing on Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash. :/
ReplyDeleteYeah, I could see the first article: "Who And Where The Fuck Are Scootalo's Parents?"
ReplyDeleteAnypony think they might stereo type Rainbow dash?
ReplyDeleteAnypony think they might stereo type Rainbow dash?
ReplyDeleteMan, I get so emo over all these "meh, gonna suck" comments. The last episode I didn't like THAT much was Family Appreciation Day. And that was maybe because I didn't understood a lot of what Granny Smith said, maybe I should rewatch it. Okay, then Secret My Excess.
ReplyDelete@Chaoyll
ReplyDeleteScootaloo doesn't have a family relationship with any of the main six, making her having an episode a bit "bleh" I guess. She will probably get one in Season 3, or episode 24-25 (it's still possible).
this lines up directly with the "bi-weekly" premiere schedule i theorized. now we have
ReplyDelete3rd-"putting your hoof down"
10th-"nothing"
17th-"dragon quest"
24th-"nothing"
31st-"Ponyville Confidential"
where is our twilight episode that was announced well before even Putting your hoof down was announced?
Telling Gossip stories in which can affect ponies? Make it so!!!!! ^_^
ReplyDelete@Joe
ReplyDeleteAll I'm saying is that Scootaloo deserves more Scootalove. We don't know as much about her as we do about the other two CMCs. Some more insight into her character would be good.
@malostraza
ReplyDeleteWait... what?
The Twilight episode (It's About Time) is on the 10th. Hurricane Fluttershy is on the 24th.
Unless I've totally misunderstood what you're doing there.
I just realized that the 23rd episode of both seasons are CMC centered.
ReplyDeleteThough Cutie Mark Chronicles was about how the mane 6 got their cutie marks. Maybe this will reveal another bit of common past from each of the mane 6? As an interview-type thing?
I absolutely love CMC ep's. And this sounds like it too will be really good.
ReplyDeleteI hope it takes awhile for them to get their marks, CMC antics are great. (sorry Crusaders!)
Sounds too cliché, but I know the writers would make something especial.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it would be great if they started making parodies of tv series clichés, like the giant pizza and the bonnie and clide episode.
PD: It's just me, or now episodes are being too similar to some old spongebob and recess episodes.
Spoiler: Spike has a crush on Rarity!
ReplyDeleteSpoiler: Spike has a crush on Rarity!
ReplyDeleteThis has potential.
ReplyDeleteSounds like that SpongeBob episode where Mr. Krabs starts a gossip paper at the Krusty Krab and SB does all the fake story stuff! Even so, I have full confidence that the writers can pull this off with a healthy sense of originality.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I don't get where people are getting "too many CMC episodes this season" from. Only the Hearts and Hooves episode has been a pure CMC episode this season, with Family Appreciation Day a possible second (but even that was a lot more focused on Applebloom). So even at the fullest, this'd be the third CMC episode in Season 2, which is the same amount as in Season 1.
ReplyDeleteAnd before anybody counts individual CMC'er episodes into this, don't, since they can hardly count past being individual character episodes, just the same as Mane Six eps. Too many this season, indeed.
Is it just me or are the CMC getting into more and more malicious antics? First they try to force two ponies to get together, now they're starting up their own version of E! news? But hey, at least it'll teach a lesson not to start up a crappy news network just for the sake of trashing politicians and celebrities.
ReplyDeleteI predict a shocking photograph of somepony picking their nose.
ReplyDeleteI am calling that the newspaper they are writing a column for will be called "Equestria Daily."
ReplyDeleteNot too fond of the idea, but the CMC are awesome. And maybe it'll turn out hilarious.
ReplyDeleteAnother CMC episode is cool, but I'd rather have have an episode about just Scootaloo. There still hasn't been one about her yet.
ReplyDeletePlease make Equestria Daily reference....
ReplyDeleteCliche? Maybe, but it is a kids show after all.
ReplyDeleteAnd as Terry Pratchett's said, Cliches become Cliches because they are the hammer and screwdriver in the toolbox of communications. Sometimes things just work... and it's all in the execution.
@Pegasus Rescue Brigade
ReplyDeleteThat episode of Spongebob was a load of crap. I'm sure this'll be better. There's a fine line of execution, and that episode of Spongebob CANNOT be topped in the department of crap execution.
We get alot CMC this season, huh?
ReplyDeleteOh goody, gossip..lol
ReplyDelete...well I'll be. I had planned to do this exact story! That would have turned out embarrassing!
ReplyDeleteSometimes, my lack of speed can be a blessing. :D
They should make a newspaper and name it Equestria Daily ;D
ReplyDeleteOh Yeah Possible Shipping
ReplyDeleteSpike Has A Crush On Rarity, Twilight is OCD, Applejack is Stubborn, Pinkie is Scyztophrinic, Rainbow Dash boasts to make up for her insecurities, Fluttershy is a evil bitch deep down, and Mayor Mare is actually a Man.
ReplyDeleteAll of these things are true...and will be revealed in this epsiode, lol.
I'm calling it right now that Pinkie will be called an alien during this episode.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've read, it seems this episode is some sort of cross between G2G: Got to Go and Mr. X.
ReplyDelete@Justin
ReplyDeleteThat is the exact same reason I watch the show.
The first time I saw saw the CMC in this show I said to my self "Oh god, kids!" Now I can say that they are some of the best kid characters I have ever seen in an animated show, they remind me of other kid characters like Calvin, Lilo, or the Peanuts characters. I can't for this episode.
@Howdy Lol i thought the same thing after reading the episode description.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see some more cmc episodes, i like the chaos they create :P
@malostraza
ReplyDelete3rd-Putting Your Hoof Down
10th-Its About Time
17th-Dragon Quest
24th-Hurricane Fluttershy
31st-Ponyville Confidential
What I'm about to say it's never, ever gonna happen, but...
ReplyDeleteif Hasbro drops the bomb and one of the scandals of the gossip column is Dashie being the first LGBT character in the history of 8-years-old-targeted cartoons, this episode will go straight to history records.
But, of course this is just some brony-madness.
In a show teaching kids about dealing with relationships with others, an episode about how hurtful gossip can be is inevitable. That said, it's all about what you do with a common theme, not the theme itself. There's a ton of potential for gags.
ReplyDeleteCan we just admit that the CMC are main characters now and refer to the cast as the Mane 9?
@Nymo
ReplyDeleteOh my God.
Give. Us. A Bucking. Scootaloo. Episode. Already.
ReplyDelete@Soundmonkey44
ReplyDeleteI think you spelled schizophrenic wrong dude. also, pinkie strikes me more as depressed with a healthy frosting of ADHD, and a hint of tourettes on top.
