This needs to be an episode right here. It would be perfect.
Have some news!
Uhh, and the post title... TV Guide has a very slight alteration to the normal "It's about Time" synopsis. I accidentally used my draft post from earlier for the roundup! It's pretty minor. You can find that here anyway though!

Bronies Vs Kony 2012
We tend to stay out of real world politics here, but enough of you seem concerned about this that I figured I'd put a mention here in the roundup. A bunch of bronies are joining the cause to bring an African fugitive to justice. You can find the video about it here if something like this would interest you!

Smile! Project Update
Copy Paste:
The Massive Smile! Project is a version of Pinkie’s Smile! Song done in the style of “We Are The World”. It will be released as a Global Giving charity single, supporting the Children’s Cancer Association’s Music Rx—a charity that “fights the pain and isolation of hospitalization with music therapists, volunteer musicians, and the mobile music cart that plays music, videos, and has hundreds of instruments to bring joy!” (GlobalGiving.org)
So far, several pony musicians (including some very well-known artists) have expressed interest in the project. Wooden Toaster and the Living Tombstone have recorded solos for the project, and Mic the Microphone, BaldDumboRat, SherclopPones, CyrilRufus, F3nning, Kryptage, Decibelle, and Caboose have expressed interest.
But here’s the fun part—the final chorus is being sung by the fandom. Anypony with even a vague ability to sing and a method to record themselves is welcome to submit their voice to be included. With over 44 submissions so far, we already have an epic ensemble, but the more voices—the better. There is just over a week left before the submission deadline of March 15.
For more information on how to participate, please see the promo video

The Massive Smile! Project has been featured on Brony Talk, Equestria Daily, and Everypony Sings.

I think you got some alternate synopsis in my nightly roundup.
ReplyDeleteWait, it this a nightly roundup?
ReplyDeleteMan, I am so looking forward to this episode!
ReplyDelete/sarcasam
Is this meant to be a news post or the nightly roundup? XD
ReplyDeleteDerpy let Seth put the titles
ReplyDeleteOr some nightly roundup in my alternate synopsis. Still trying to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm very confused....
ReplyDeleteDont you hate it when you have a premature round up, i havnt done that since i was 17... wait...
ReplyDeleteI will wait patiently for this to fix itself and read the Nightly Roundup in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteI agree that would be a good episode!
ReplyDeleteSilly Seth, synopses are for episodes!
ReplyDeleteYou derped!
ReplyDeleteI think you titled the derp.
ReplyDeleteFixed!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWell, now that it's fixed....
ReplyDeleteLove the header.
ReplyDeleteDash: This isn't what it looks like!
Scootaloo: This is EXACTLY what it looks like!
I'm unable to read the news paper article, it's too blurry, but from the title of it I'm going to say yay.
Well, the banner is back to the closest that this website can call normal
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Dash and Scoot's is awesome :D
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for Derpy in Wales! Something kind of close to me happened. The bronies are spreading, love and tolerance to all.
Also, would like to point out it's not Whales, it's Wales.
Where's that alternate synopsis, huh? Also, I'm totally going to that San Francisco thing, and I've already sent in my audition for the TTEoAP audiobook thing.
ReplyDeleteThat writeup on Derpy Day was fantastic. THAT is exactly the kind of brony news I love hearing about, well done!
ReplyDeleteI also sent my audition to the TTEoAP project, but they don't seem to have made any decisions yet.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it is awesome to see Derpy Day covered in an actual newspaper.
Salem eh? Lets burn us some witches wot wot!
ReplyDeleteHehehe, WHALES!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, old in-joke...
The Kony link is derped or deleted, either way is isn't working.
ReplyDelete@11monkeys
ReplyDeleteLink worked fine for me. Kony 2012 has blown way up over the internet in the past day, so a quick Google search will find you what you need easily.
@DerpGarde
ReplyDeleteIn fact, this roundup is just chock full of charity events and such. Good stuff.
That was in the Echo!
ReplyDeleteHow the hell did I miss that?
Stop Kony
ReplyDelete"An unspecified future 'Calamity' huh?"
ReplyDeleteIs Fallout: Equestria about to become canon?
Thank you for posting the KONY video BRONIES AGAINST KONY yay!!
ReplyDeleteGod, I wish I had some recording equipment! Not only do I want to do guitar covers of badass brony music, but being a part of the Smile! rendition would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteWow, news spreads fast. I just finished sending an e-mail to Bronies For Good, and was going to send one here next, but looks like there's no need. Thanks Seth, for including Kony 2012. I think this is something that should be addressed.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, I love that header picture.
>Whales
ReplyDeleteI like how you guys think signing an online petition or something will somehow stop an evil African warlord.
ReplyDeleteWails.
ReplyDeleteI feel like such an idiot for posting the Kony video at the same time that it was tossed up in the Roundup.
ReplyDeleteI mean, considering the fact that I live right next to the hq, you would think that I would have known about this sooner....
Pony vs. Kony
ReplyDeleteThe battle begins.
Where is Salem High School? I often have no idea where the meetup places mentioned in these are.
ReplyDeleteSTOP KONY
ReplyDeleteMy Little Kony: Sexual Slavery is Magic
ReplyDelete@Naahdude
ReplyDeleteYou'd be surprised.
If you read "King Leopold's Ghost" you can read about how activists stopped the brutal slavery and murder of natives in the Congo by the Belgian king with nothing but petitions and letters and public pressure.
And that was during a time when Youtube, Facebook, cell phone cameras didn't exist.
At the very least it shows people care. Nothing more frustrating then people being indifferent to all the evil stuff happening in the world.
Meh, I thought it was a bit disappointing that article was written by a brony. It would've been great to see something so positive by an actually impartial source.
ReplyDeleteBleh, internet reset and deleted all my comments.
ReplyDeleteThe Kony 2012 video had me crying a nice little bit. Very well done and motivational. A good cause it is indeed. It's so sad that things like this still happen in the World today and they must be put to an end. And with the help of the vast social network that is the internet and the voices of many. Hopefully they will be. I hope and pray their mission is a successful one.
The little Derpy Day article in the Wales newspaper was cute. So much kindness. And muffins. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. :)
I hope the Traveling Pony Museum gets some strong donations. I'm sure there's a lot of people who are looking forward to checking it out at some future events and locales. I'm interesting in seeing what it's all about too.
Good to see the Smile! project is coming along nicely as well. Only 44 submissions though? Aww, com'on. Surely we have more people in the community willing and able to record a little bit of themselves singing. ;)
Bronies. Just don't do the Kony thing. You just make yourself look bad. There is good people in the cause and they do not need bronies.
ReplyDeleteJust don't, really. It looks embarrassing, I mean, Bronies vs. Kony. That has to be one of the gayest motto's I have ever heard.
ReplyDeleteThere's a guy here with a picture of a rainbow themed, stubborn cartoon, undersized horse, from the show: My Little Pony, hailing to a communistic emblem, while the user is screaming "STOP KONY" Just please, please, do not, in any way, affair yourself in politics.
ReplyDeleteI cannot express how much I want you guys to not do this, at all.
ReplyDeleteSurprised to see ponies again in newspapers
ReplyDelete@Nothing Else To Do.
ReplyDeleteAnd your weird ass Twilight avatar is better?
Come on dude. I'm sure some bronies were already involved before today.
I'm also curious exactly which Salem that high school is located at.
ReplyDeleteNever mind, I did the two seconds of searching myself. The school is in Virginia Beach, it seems.
ReplyDeleteAlright good. Just keep putting kony 2012 in roudups. Not every one, mind you. Just regularly. If the link is still broken: www.kony2012.com I think. Also you can go on YouTube, and just sEarch kony2012.
ReplyDeleteI sense that Daring is...just a little creeped out right now lol
ReplyDeleteSalem High School? Is that the one in Massachusetts?
ReplyDeleteSeth for God's sake remove the 'h' from Wales.
ReplyDelete@JamesH
ReplyDeleteSeth dint speak none y'all's fancy-schmancy britanica er whatever sich nonsense
Lol. Kony means horses in russian language.
ReplyDeleteIt might seem like an awful thing to say, but please do not get involved in Kony 2012, it's misleading at best, and will not put your money towards helping people. I can't emphasize enough how important it is that you actually research an organization before you support it. http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com/
ReplyDeleteCan't see why anybody would willingly want to attend a BroNYcon...
ReplyDeleteI don't know who Jack Laterick is, but I love him and feel really happy knowing there is a brony group about 30 miles away from my house :D.
ReplyDeleteWelsh people love muffins, so this seems like natural extension.
I will note that in addition to the TtEoAP audiobook, we are looking for people who are willing to work on a full studio quality fan animation for it as well, practically all positions are open. You can find more information about it in the forums. :)
ReplyDelete@Wisp
ReplyDeleteClearly a productive use of everybody's time.
Like James said, is that an "H?!" THERE'S NO "H" IN WALES!
ReplyDelete@Revery
ReplyDeleteWell isn't it a great thing that the whole Kony 2012 project isn't about donating?
The whole point of the video and project is to make the entire world aware of this one man, so in essence he becomes the #1 man to find.
If you want to support a charity that assists those in Uganda, look up Seeds of Kindness.
Love the pic it's soo cute
ReplyDeleteSeems Derpy Day was a good success by the looks of that article. And wow, in 48 hours Kony has gone from invisible to everywhere on the Internet. A little faith in the Internet Community has been restored.
ReplyDelete@Lord Elliott Salem High School is located in Virginia Beach, VA 23464 U.S.A. and we meet in room 205 at 1400 hours, Also, I'm so glad my club got posted on Equestria Daily..
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Bralore
ReplyDeleteAre high schools using the 24-hour clock now?
Well Kony 2012 is a good cause and all but we sort of do need to examine the sides involved. Invisible Children, the Ugandan military, and of course Kony.
ReplyDeleteKony is no doubt evil. But what about the Ugandan army? I've been doing a bit of reading up on the situation after watching the Kony video and they too can be blamed for their own evils (looting of their own, rape, pretty much throwing everyone in the afflicted regions into what are more-or-less concentration camps).
Not to mention it sort of has a "White Man's Burden" feel to it by a major Western European-borne state stepping things up. And this won't be AFRICOM's first brush with the bastard.
LOL "Whales" *headdesk*
ReplyDelete@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteIt's really no different than making comics, graphics, music, fanfics, etc. It's just a combination of many of the things we do as a fandom anyways. lol
@Wisp
ReplyDeleteNone of which I've found terribly useful or good, as far as the fandom goes.
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteWho EVER said it was supposed to be useful? It's all for fun. Nobody is making people do these things, we just enjoy it.
You don't watch TV to get things done do you?
@Lupon
ReplyDeleteWE COULD USE WHALES, GUYS!! WHAAAAALES!!!
I am in a moral dilemma right now, I believe in the Kony 2012, but if i get the kit, will the money earned go to where it needs to go? sigh, what to do...
ReplyDelete@Nothing Else To Do.
ReplyDeleteSo you would have us be apathetic to the cause because you feel embarrassed by some of the members of the community?
Get over yourself. You sound like a self-conscious coward advocating apathy.
The more voices that can be added to the movement, the better. Regardess of whose they are.
You misspelled Wales...
ReplyDeleteNo meetup in NYC T__T
ReplyDelete@_OJ_
ReplyDelete"Clearly a productive use of everybody's time."
More productive, at least, then spending your time making dickish remarks in a comment thread on a blog devoted to something about which you apparently don't care. Got nothing better to do, I take it?
I watched the KONY video at school today it was sad
ReplyDeleteJoseph Kony, eh? Admittedly, this website was actually the first to alert me to the existence of Invisible Children, but the words "African fugitive" gave me an instant clue as to who we're dealing with. I can understand what that particular group intends to do, but we might need to start turning westward for some real leads on Mr. Kony's thugs.:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.voanews.com/english/news/Thousands-Flee-LRA-Attacks-in-Congo-141575123.html
I'd call the area a veritable jungle, and I'll wish the governments collaborating to take down the Lord's Resistance Army success and the best of luck. In terms of American foreign policy, I'd say that this qualifies as a continuation of our broadening interest in Africa, which I could welcome. I will definitely keep an eye on this story as it develops.

ReplyDelete>my teachers at Mary Immaculate High School in Cardiff
-Cardiff ?
Does he know Doctor Who or Jack Harkness ? ;)
@_OJ_
ReplyDeleteJust me on a personal note.
