Sigma has completed a huge upgrade on the pony wallpaper compilation document. Included in his new update are the following new features:
- I split the standard and widescreen sections into new documents (I did that in the last update) because they were getting too large.
- I changed the wallpaper galleries section so it has an image preview + details of the gallery instead of just being a list.
- Added downloads:- Standard aspect ratio wallpapers / Widescreen aspect ratio wallpapers (sorted by character and sorted by resolution) / Mobile device wallpapers
Of course you could just use the amazing one found above, because Twilight Sparkle is cutest pony.
But if she just isn't your type, hit the entire thing out here!

1700 wallpapers? I've been using the same one for 6 months...
ReplyDeleteLol I thought it was Tavi until I read "Twilight is cutest pony"
ReplyDeleteDem ponies
ReplyDeleteI've got a bunch of wallpapers already and I have them automatically rotate every 4 hours. I'm bookmarking this page for when I get tired of the ones I have now. 1700...dadgum.
ReplyDeleteI've been needing a pony background. Let's hope I can find at least one in seventeen hundred.
ReplyDeleteHmm...1700 wallpapers. Not sure if I'll be able to find one I like...
ReplyDeleteAh brilliant job! I will be flicking through that bad boy later!
ReplyDeleteSweeeeet... He's been keeping me up to date on this for a while now... I'm glad to see it finally up on EQD! Check out my gallery on deviant art!
ReplyDeletePlz?
I need more space for this....
ReplyDelete1700 and mine are not listed - somepony should feel shamed! ;)
ReplyDelete1700 wallpapers - perfect for my screensaver and my randomized second workspace :D
ReplyDeleteOnce I have all of them, wonder how often I'd cycle them. But then again, the top one always works. I melted when I first saw that one.
ReplyDeleteI've already got my wallpaper set to change every minute, I'm going to have to drop it down to 10 seconds for all these XD
ReplyDelete@Travis Smith You just had to remind me about my rapidly shrinking hard drive. I'm thinking about getting a new laptop, so I'll definitely have to consider hard drive space. I do work with computers, but I'm just too lazy to swap out hard drives on my current laptop.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the effort that's been put into this, it's a pretty magnificent feat but I really wish the general quality was higher, most of it is just artwork, great artwork, but a good piece of artwork doesn't always make a good wallpaper. At least half the image, preferable the left half should be subdued enough that it doesn't visually interfere with your icons.
ReplyDeleteThere are some really great pieces in there though I nabbed a few for myself.
Ah yes, I remember chatting to Sigma about this c:
ReplyDeleteGlad to see it worked out
Huh. Downloads keep failing for me for some reason. Why must you stand between me and ponies, Internet!?!
ReplyDeleteOh Seth, you spelled Fluttershy wrong.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, this list is could be really useful.

ReplyDeleteHere's to roughly 2000 more!
ReplyDelete*toasts*
Only 1700? :)
ReplyDeleteMy rotating desktop folder is at 2138, and yes that's 100% pony. Then again I use a lot more than just images formated to my screen's exact dimensions, though at the same time I find most images that are intentionally designed as wallpapers are either, too bland, too abstract, or too busy. As such I usually find Drawfriend a better source of new images than wallpaper compilations, still though at 1700 I may have to brows for anything I haven't already nabbed.
I've had dozens of wallpapers rotating every 20 min... Well, maybe I can use a few more.
ReplyDelete@BakedBad That's actually an alternate spelling for Fluttershy (in my book at least; I always have to flip coins between Twi & Fluttershy.)
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Seth said in the follow up to "Read it and Weep." For me, this show makes me use the word cute way more than I did before I discovered it. Though, Azumanga Daioh is a close second.
ReplyDeleteI have my wallpapers cycling through at 1 every 10 seconds, I won't even see them all in a whole day...
ReplyDeleteHey! Great compilation! Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteIf I may suggest a thing, please don't use zip files on the internet. I don't know if it's only my problem but getting them downloaded properly is always a pin in the neck for me. There always end up damaged somehow. This never occurs for other archive types.

ReplyDeletevote for ghost at http://shortyawards.com/ghostpolitics must be already used twittr accounts before about jan 15th, lets get him to come out and get his award, you should be doing this as bronies!
ReplyDeleteyey more wallpapers to add to my 11,084 MLP wallpapers
ReplyDeleteActually now I've had a chance to look through all of the 16:9 and 16:10 ones I am even more disappointed, a large number of them are just screenshots from episodes... There are some real gems in there though so do look through them, this is still a great pack.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't really looked through this admittedly. Since I have so many wallpapers now, and probably a lot that are in there already. But I probably should to see what gems I can dig out.
ReplyDeleteI have failed you, bronies...
ReplyDeleteI only have 486. ALL THE WASTED YEARS!
@previouscrossing
ReplyDeleteSorry. I need to find out that they exist before I can add them. Now I know about them, I can seek them out.
@sevooHypreD
Some people have said the resolutions folder download fails, but some have said it works fine. (They said individual downloads and everything else worked fine.) I can't test this myself though. If a specific download keeps failing, let me know which one it is.

1700 is an approximate based on how many I actually have saved. There's a fair few I still need to download for myself.
I typically find new images from the Drawfriend posts as well.
@Maquabra
I chose zip files for portability - no extra software (usually) needed. Compression-wise, there's no difference if I use a different archive type. And SkyDrive does folder downloads in zip format (I can't change that).
This is amazing.
ReplyDeleteNitpick: if it only has 1700 images, shouldn't it be called a kilodocument, rather than a megadocument?
ReplyDelete@Roxor
ReplyDeleteHeh heh. That gave me a good laugh :).
Twilight is indeed best pony.
