The Scootaloo Burger won first place in a German McDonalds sandwich naming competition poll. Amazingly enough, it seems to have dodged all copyright issues and gone for gold. The top 20 burgers have been absorbed into a final competition for the right to become an officially sold burger.
The actual Scootaloo portion of the video happens at :50 in the video after the break, for a translation, hit the text below!
Hopefully it makes it through! I don't know if Scootaloo would be too happy with it, but at least she is famous for something... right?"I was in a Skype conversation with German Bronies. Then I noticed a post on Facebook, my neighbor made a burger at "Mein Burger by McDonalds", he told me to “Click on Like!”. After that I asked the other ones on Skype “Hey, wanna create one, too?” Then everyone said: “YEAH! DO IT!”.(...)Just Scootaloo, because it’s a character from the show. And here it is!"

ReplyDeleteThis is pretty awesome.
ReplyDelete....................WHAT???? That's actually gonna be the new burger?......
ReplyDeleteNow to hit up my dutch friend and make him buy one for me!!!
ReplyDeleteNO DONT EAT SCOOTALOO!!
ReplyDeleteAs long as they make it a chicken burger it's fine? XD
ReplyDeleteI did not hear the name Scootaloo in that last sentence.
ReplyDeleteI'd like a Scootaloo burger, apple fries, a large cup of cider and a Fluttershy toy.
ReplyDeleteJELFES!! Your avatar is needed here!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Scootaburger, home of the Scootaburger, can I take your order?
ReplyDeleteNow they just need to rename Webster's Dictionary "Sweetie Bell"
ReplyDeleteIt's a Chicken burger right?
ReplyDeleteAll right! Bronies win another one!
ReplyDeleteIt really is a chicken burger btw. :)
ReplyDeleteSo now German Bronies have a awesome place to meet up. The KFC's in the UK should have a competition, I would love to eat some Kentucky fried Scoota... wait that dosen't sound right.
ReplyDeleteWell this is awesomer than it should be...
ReplyDeleteSERIOUSLY?!!!
ReplyDeleteOr maybe the German McDonald's doesn't know that "Scootaloo" is the copyrighted name of an English-language American Hasbro company character.
ReplyDelete"Ich bin ne scharfe Frau also brauche ich nen scharfen Burger!" - I lol'd hard!
ReplyDeletetime to go to germany
ReplyDeleteWat
ReplyDeleteMy profile image is a reality!!
ReplyDeleteHuh? Not a thing was understood, except bronies, skype and facebook... Anywho I am glad they get a burger named after one of the chars! (+1 for the chicken pun)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it uses a chicken patty...
ReplyDeleteHah, so that's what this was all about.
ReplyDeletehttp://ponibooru.413chan.net/post/view/110717
Little trip to Germany coming up? Maybe attend a German brony meet :D
ReplyDelete@Jelfes
ReplyDeleteYES!
So that's what happened to the G3.5 Scootaloo. Of course after eating one of those, knowing McDonald's quality, you are going to have to scoot to the loo.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell whether this is good or bad. Probably both.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure it's not a chicken sandwich?
ReplyDeletewhat is this I don't even
ReplyDeleteEverything's cool, yeah; we're the fuckin' best.
ReplyDeletedear god, It actually happened. I knew we had the power to do so, but I had no idea that they'd ACTUALLY let this go through...
ReplyDeleteI...
ReplyDeleteI don't...
I am SO conflicted and confuzzled and...
Part of me REALLY wants one for the humor and coolness factor of it all, and the other part is aghast at the thought of eating something named after a pony, even if it is only a meme offshoot.
I guess the safe answer is to quote Ruby Pinch: "Wat."
Still trying to wrap my head around this. I...I've been rendered completely speechless.
ReplyDelete@kyle
ReplyDeleteYes, it has a chicken patty. The "scootaloo is a chicken" pun is the main reason why this burger was created.
And it looks delicious. This is the ingredients list:
- Hamburger Royal Patty (top)
- Cheese Sauce
- Tomato
- Onions
- Salad
- Cheddar
- Chicken Patty (!)
- Cheddar
- Hamburger Royal Patty (bottom)
Thank /b/ for that one. 4chan had around 20 burgers it voted on, including the McMoot, the wat, roodypoo, HNNNG and McMeatspin.
ReplyDeleteAll of these got removed however, leaving only the Scootaloo.
I want Mc Scootaloo menu NAOW
ReplyDelete@Andrew Foose
ReplyDeleteIt is a chicken sandwich. Here's a link to the website.
http://www.mcdonalds.de/mein_burger/index.cfm#/galerie_top_20
Even though I like the chicken jokes, it's unfortunate that Scootaloo will only be remembered because of them. She really needs an episode.
ReplyDelete@Jigglysaint
ReplyDeleteI don't know where you're from, but I heard that McDonald's is really good in some countries' like Australia. It defiantly sucks in America though.
@Jordan
ReplyDeleteWell, McDonald's already has the rights to sell toys for MLP and other Hasbro properties. If they don't already have licensing rights covering this particular instance, it probably wouldn't be too hard to get them.
Also, the Scootaloo hasn't won yet. It just was the winner of the online voting competition. The top 20 of that competition now get voted on by a jury to see which one really wins.
ReplyDeleteBut because the Scootaloo is a "sane" burger (not too much meat and stuff - therefore affordable and edible) it has good chances.
*Crossing fingers*
ReplyDelete(hey... don't give me that look, Lyra)
There is still a second voting phase.
ReplyDeleteA jury has to decide which one of the 20 burgers will be sold.
Although I have to admit that it is cool that the scootaburger got so far.
@Spikely Whiplash It's the first word he says.
ReplyDeleteI SO voted for that! Suck it McMoot! Joke's on 4chan!
ReplyDeleteNow if only it is still there when I leave for Germany this summer.
Ingredients list:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.mcdonalds.de/mein_burger/index.cfm#/galerie_top_20
It's in German, but it has a picture.
As a native Kentuckian, I'm all for Kentucky Fried Scootaloo
ReplyDeleteI'm a vegeterian, but I would buy that burger for scootaloo
ReplyDeleteFortunately, I can vaguely understand German. I heard them say "activity" and "from" as well as a few other words.
ReplyDeleteFrycook!Scootaloo is my headcanon now.
ReplyDeletePlease be a chicken sandwich....
ReplyDeleteI'll eat that thing every day if it wins.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@MyBoyJ its a burger
ReplyDeleteand on one hand its a brony burger, but on the other... its not. Scootaloo is a chicken call afterall. So name a chicken burger scootaloo would be a funny idea even without the mlp background. I think thats why they let him pass~
For the event, if i dont get it wrong, three burgers are selected, which are then available for respectivly one week at mcDonalds (first week the first winner and so on..).
If this burger would win the final competition, i would defenitly buy it. :D
Really men this fandom is CRAZY
ReplyDelete...and thats the way i love it
@Pinkie Swirl ups the top 5
ReplyDelete@carback99
ReplyDeleteits true all the bronies in this fandom are CRAZY
but its amazing XD
YAY for germany bronies! You guys rock! Great idea! Voted for it and glad you made it! :D
ReplyDelete@Pinkie Swirl
ReplyDeleteWhat's your definition of burger?
Mine is a sandwich based primarily around a beef patty. I said "chicken sandwich" because burger, to me and probably a lot of others, implies beef.
It's not really important either way.
I really wish my German was good enough to actually understand this.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, as for the Scootaloo burger, heck yes.
Bring it to America McDonalds! Bring it here please?
ReplyDeleteAs long as this gets to America,I'm good
ReplyDeleteFirst, Germany. Next, THE WORLD!!!
ReplyDeleteYou copyright larger works, like an episode of MLP, a piece of art, or a story. You trademark smaller things used to identify your products, like the phrase "My Little Pony." Scootaloo might be trademarked, if Hasbro ever sold something labeled "Scootaloo." A single word, even a made up one like Scootaloo, has never successfully been copyrighted.
ReplyDeletesometimes i love my home^^
ReplyDeleteof all the best things that could happen this is
ReplyDeleteTHE
BEST
POSSIBLE
THING!
(actually giant new-york pinkie pie is)
I think to name a burger - a dead being - after a vegetarian awesome cute pony is the WORST POSSIBLE THING! What would Fluttershy think of us if we let this happen?
ReplyDeleteSometimes it seems that we are a headless fandom. If there is pony on it, it's great. A bit to simple don't you all think?
wat
ReplyDelete@MyBoyJ ah thanks for the explanation :), here it is just called burger regardless if its a beef or chicken patty, it would even be a burger when theres no "meatish" patty ~ culture clash xD
ReplyDeleteponies invades the whole world !!!! that's EPIC !!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan you say... Scootalove?
ReplyDelete... Actually, since we will be eating Scootaloo, I'm not sure what makes it 'love'.
So proud to be a (closet) brony.
Cheesy crusts, Germany. I know you're famous for being messed up, but this is the most deliciously evil thing I've ever seen. I don't know whether to laugh or throw up.
ReplyDeleteEither way, I look for the next great grossout fanfic, "Burgers", to be released within the next week.
@White Ink
ReplyDeleteMe neither. I don't even know how to describe what I feel about this.
Is there a word that means both win and fail?
Derp perhaps?
...I just might try that burger...
First cupcakes, then rainbows, now burgers - a ponymeat history.
ReplyDeleteScootAbuse...
ReplyDeleteTo all the "dislikers":
ReplyDeleteSee it like Scootaloo named this burger after herself, because she created it and got her burger creating cutie mark ^^
Or something like that :P
@Alan De Smet *german brohoof* xD
yes, I'll have a Scootaloo burger with the apple bloom fries and make sure there is plenty of sweety belle ice tea to drink. you know the Cutemark Combo!
ReplyDeleteLmfao! NICE! YOU WILL GO PLACES SCOOT!
ReplyDeleteAlso about copyrights, well McDonalds seem to be bros with Hasbro, with the toys and all :v
@Pinkie Swirl
ReplyDeleteScootaloo killing a chicken because she wants to make a burger... seriously?
It's a sneaky ploy by Hasbro so they can use "Big Mac" for Macintosh whenever they want to.
ReplyDeleteHasbro and McDonald's execs in the back room"
ReplyDeleteMcD: "We'll let you use 'Big Mac' for that red horse you guys have, if you let us make a chicken sandwich and name it after your chicken-pony. We'll even toss in apple fries and some sweet tea and make it a combo!""
Hasbro: "Put in a pony toy and you got yourselves a deal!"
@Yorec Unfortunately, America doesn't even share a McDonald's menu with Canada. The odds of getting a Scootaloo over here are very low.
ReplyDeleteScootaloo it's the best combo
ReplyDeleteOne step closer to total domination.
ReplyDeleteNext Step: someone needs to infiltrate Merriam-Webster and get them to print "Sweetie Belle" on the cover of every dictionary.
The chicken in the burger isn't Scootaloo, it's just named after the best chicken.
ReplyDeleteMan, this makes me wish I lived in Germany. That burger looks surprisingly delicious. Seriously, I'd try it even without the pony reference. It being called Scootaloo is just the icing on the cake, and various other food metaphors.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, the Scootaloo burger won? lol That's hilarious and awesome. I'll take a Scootaloo with ketchup and pickles! :D
ReplyDeleteI as a German Brony will eat them scootaloos in honor of all of you out there that wont get the chance to even taste it...
ReplyDeleteSo, instead of being the toy in the Happy Meal, Scootaloo IS the Happy Meal?
ReplyDeleteYES! Being German finally pays off! :D
ReplyDeleteI normally avoid it, but I think it's about time to visit McDonald's again ^^
YES! Being German finally pays off! :D
ReplyDeleteI normally avoid it, but I think it's about time to visit McDonald's again ^^
Time to go to Germany and get meself one o' them Scootaloos!
ReplyDeleteWhy is everyone surprised to see this? I thought we all knew that McDonald's was putting horse meat in their burgers for years.
ReplyDeleteDammit people...
ReplyDeleteTime to get myself some Scootaloo, baby. Hoo!
ReplyDeleteTastes like Scootaloo! YUM!
ReplyDeleteI swore i would never step foot in a Mcdonald again, but this is an exception. I will eat one when they come out in konstanz :)
ReplyDeleteWell then.
ReplyDeleteTime to visit Germany.
Quit gripin', people, it's not like you're eating a pony. You're eating a chicken.
ReplyDeleteIt is a chicken sandwich right? Whelp, time to start referring to McChickens as Scootaloo's from now on.
ReplyDeleteWow! Got a chicken burger named after Scootaloo. Heh. Just amazing.
ReplyDeleteShe'd make a better burger for chick fil' a if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteNow here comes the hard part. We gotta order a couple of them whenever we swing by Germany within the next few weeks.
ReplyDeleteThey'll drop a couple of the least-ordered items. So, we know what to do. When you're hungry for a chicken sandwich, go and grab a Scootaloo.
Ignore the USA backlash over one of the radio ads for the McD stores in one neighborhood, okay?
@Spikely Whiplash It´s the first word he says after that little break at 1:05.
ReplyDeleteI´m glad I didn´t waste my time voting for it. And even though I´m not all that fond of McDonalds, I might just get one next time I visit Germany.
Time to await its arrival to the rest of the world. You know it will go well if you eat enough of it! Don't disappoint us now, German Bronies! :)
ReplyDeleteI so remember when it was first posted (when the voting was still on) and now it actually happened. First a burger then the WORLD!
ReplyDeletei was just talking to a friend about this then i see its possible it could happen XD that is so badass!! to bad its not for all mcdonald's :(
ReplyDeleteI'll go to Germany only so I can get in a McDonalds and ask for a Scootaloo. Then I would be able to say that I ate her. I don't care if that sounds wrong XD
ReplyDeletethat's funny... I thought they already had a chicken sandwich...
ReplyDeleteOH SNAP!!!
I'm so going to buy a Scootaloo this summer! Going on a trip to Germany in early July.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry my fellow bronies but Scootaloo hasn't won! :-(
ReplyDeleteDude, I think it will make it. McDonalds already has a shared copyright with Hasbro (toy sales) dunno why they wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteWell, too bad :( I was hoping for the Scootaloo chicken burger to win, but well, only 5 out of 20 could prevail so the chances were against us.
ReplyDeleteYou can see the 5 winners here:
http://www.mcdonalds.de/mein_burger/index.cfm#/finalisten
Let's hope for next year?
What a shame. The one with the most honest votes didn't make it.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those times that I'm glad I live in Germany.
ReplyDeleteOkay...I SO WANT THIS.
ReplyDelete
