I'm about 45 minutes away from LA (technically I'm in the greater LA area). I would love to have a meetup! However, I am a bit of a flake and so if it falls on a day where I have school, homework, or work then it's a no go for me.
The So Cal group could probably set something up, and there are plenty of places to have a meet.
Arcades? Museums? Malls? Parks? Pick your poison.
If you're willing to travel 30 minutes by freeway, there's a few places like Round 1 Bowling (Bowling, Arcade, Billiards, Darts, Ping Pong, Karaoke in private rooms) in Puente Hills that's really neat, and it's next to a Toys R Us.
Rumor has it that we're trying to get a big meetup going for sometime in April.
We had one in San Diego a couple weeks ago, and there are a couple more coming up in that general area. But San Diego is about two or three hours from LA.
The Renfaire meetup would be an excellent venue. I used to work there every year and having a bunch of bronies running around wouldnt even get a second look with all the crazy people there (I'm talking star wars/harry potter crossover cosplay here).
check the Meetup page. i think tomorrow some bronies are meeting at a pizza place in Oceanside and later this month there's a possible meetup at an IHOP in Chula Vista or something like that.
I live here too, and the Socal Bronies page is pretty much THE place to check about meetups here.
We are planning on having/arranging a big meetup at Anime Expo at the end of June last I checked. The con is HUGE too if you never been to it so a LOT of Bronies will be out in full force.
@CptAfroMan Then you'll be happy to know we're working on another West Coast convention called BronyLAnd. It's very much in the early stages, but it's in progress.
Though it's not a full meet, this Tuesday we'll all be going to predetermined IHOPs, depending on your area, for their free pancakes day.
As far as a meet for the LA/OC bronies, we're doing the 24-Hour Disneyland event on the 29th. First Brony event at Disneyland. That's gotta mean something, right? :P
We've also got things going for Anime Expo and Ren Faire.
I've always wondered about the LA area bronies. The SoCal bronies were focusing on corralling in outside areas to include stuff like Inland Empire/ OC / San Diego so I hope LA specific (or even greater LA) has something soon. I've never been to a brony meetup and would love to brohoof you all!
I'm in the Studio City are, and would adore a meetup closer to that location. I suggested a Universal Studios City Walk meetup, but I think it got lost amid other suggestions...I still would love one there, though. Would be awesome.
I don't got anyone to tell me that my image is used here...It's not so comfortable for me to see this...at least you should link the site to where is was post..
YA! Talk to Karen and Grant on the SoCal Bronies meetup page about BronyLAnd. I just went to the pizza meet up yesterday and it was SOO AWESOME! /)'3'(\ Anywhooves, join the group and let's get some more LA action happening! The creators LIVE OUT HERE after all!

Hey peoples, if somehow we can take over the Queen Mary as our locale, that would be amazing. The place is gorgeous, spacious, and really neat.
