It has been a pretty crazy day in the ponynet. Now before I start recapping everything that happened, I have to say how amazed I am at all of it. I think most of us were under the assumption after the various Hasbro statements that toys for us just wouldn't be in demand at a retail level. Here we are though, with what is essentially a "brony set" on the horizon.
I don't think I can praise Hasbro enough, but we also have to factor in Toys R' Us. The reason these are exclusive to their stores, is probably because this is a completely off the wall market to create stuff for. I don't think many retailers are willing to take the risk and release what is essentially a set "for male fans" of an originally female dominated franchise. Our hostile blindbag takeover may have something to do with it, but I have to thank them for taking the plunge. Lets show both Hasbro and TRU that we are more than relevant when these officially release later in the year!
I'll stop blabbering though, on with the recap! After the break.
You may have noticed a bunch of new images. ASM has released a gallery of clearer ones for us to drool over.
I still think the video is probably your best bet if you really want a good glance at the toys, but these work for now!
First off is this behemoth of a set. It sounds like these guys are scheduled for a Spring release, but no exact date was given. I still can't wait to see their actual show personalities!
And we can't forget the GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE! Now before you shout bias for me splitting her off, there is a method to this madness; She is in the section of ponies with their own singles. While she appears to be in the set (found below), it looks like they are decking her out with a birthday present and releasing her solo.
Above (Minus Celestia) are the combo package ponies. Included in this set you will find:
- Nightmare Moon
- Pinkie Pie
- Rainbow Dash
- Vinyl Scratch / DJ Pon-3
- The Great and Powerful Trixie (Or Lulamoon, I have a feeling Trixie is copywritten)
We also have the white Celestia for the same price as her pink counterpart at - $19.99
And finally Zecora will come single at - $9.99.
I wasn't joking when I said I wanted an army of those. I love glowy stuff.
These three products Toys R' Us exclusives. Hopefully you foreign bronies outside the USA and other countries with TRU will get a crack at them!
All of this will be arriving in the Fall.
The Nightmare Moon included in the set is probably one of the most impressive next to Scratch. I could rave about Trixie all day, but these two are the real show stealers. As far as I know, My Little Pony doesn't really release one-shot villians as toys, and they especially don't do DJ's with 10 seconds of air time! We really are making a huge impact over there.
And of course, the crazy high resolution white Celestia. We pushed for it, and they answered. I remember seeing customs of this go for 300+ bucks on ebay early on. A lot of people are really going to love this one.
And finally in the toy faire front, we have Heartstrings/Lyra. I am not sure what name they will actually choose, but I'm sure a certain blog author will be all over this one.
And we can't forget about the next Mcdonalds set hitting fast food restaurants in March. I have been told by employees that these are arriving on the 5th of March, and will end either on the 27th or 28th.
The Zynga thing is also an interesting one. I have been told that this is primarily going to be a "Hasbro makes Zynga toys" partnership as opposed to the other way around. The press release tends to dance around the issue, but I'll let you guys dig through it and make of it what toy will. Check that out copy pasted below:
Industry Gaming Leaders Hasbro and Zynga Announce Global Partnership
Hasbro signs exclusive worldwide strategic alliance to develop wide range of products based on Zynga's highly popular and iconic brands
SAN FRANCISCO & PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) and Zynga (NASDAQ: ZNGA) announced today a comprehensive partnership that grants Hasbro the rights to develop a wide range of toy and gaming experiences based across Zynga's popular social games and brands. As the world's largest social game developer with more than 227 million monthly active users, Zynga has created some of the world's most popular social game brands including FarmVille, CityVille and Words With Friends.
"It's exciting to partner with Hasbro as we share a common vision for play and a mission to connect the world through games"
Through this agreement, Hasbro has obtained the license to develop and distribute wide ranging product lines based on Zynga's game brands in a number of toy and game categories. This deal also creates an array of opportunities for co-branded merchandise featuring a combination of both Hasbro and Zynga brands.
"It's exciting to partner with Hasbro as we share a common vision for play and a mission to connect the world through games," said Mark Pincus, founder, CEO and chief product officer of Zynga. "This partnership is so special because it represents an exciting leap forward in enabling people to connect their virtual and real worlds. Hasbro has inspired play through their famous toys, games and action figures and we look forward to working with a company that continually creates meaningful and fun brands."
"Hasbro is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring Zynga's immensely popular social games to life in a variety of creative and new expressions that reflect consumers' growing desire to surround themselves with gaming brands they love anytime, anywhere together with their friends and family," said Brian Goldner, President and CEO of Hasbro. "Zynga is bringing more games to mainstream culture and is redefining how people play. At Hasbro, we're proud to help bring their games to even more people around the world. This strategic alliance plays off of both Hasbro's and Zynga's proven strengths and is emblematic of the new innovations and new platforms we are creating across our entire gaming portfolio."
The two companies expect the first products to be available beginning Fall 2012.
And that just about covers it! Have a Trixie eating a pinecone to close us out. Fall is going to be one wild ride.

ReplyDeleteFirst?
ReplyDeleteAnyway Why can I not live near a TRU.... I guess that's why they made the wonderful invention of internet shopping
eeee cool im getting the set and zecora and as well as tia
ReplyDeleteMy excitement levels have burned out the scouter.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, yes.
And here comes the brony takeover yesterday the interwebz today the stores tommorow THE WORLD AH HA HA HA seriously cool news though
ReplyDeleteI want that Lyra so much
ReplyDeleteNow for the whole time i have been aware of like MLP i always thought the toys were pretty crappy and while the toys now still look a lil weird at the head area but the two princesses look really good overall though they do look ton better.
ReplyDelete*still not buying em also the luna one has me tempted.
This... is going to be awesome.
ReplyDeleteSo much pony, I hope my wallet will handle it.
ReplyDeleteok we got Vinyl now all i want is Octavia!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't really into the brushables too much, but I gotta say that Zecora one looks awesome, I think I might get it. Hell, I think I might even pick up Lyra and Vinyl Scratch while i'm at it.
ReplyDeleteWoah... At this rate, I may actually buy the toys. This is a weird thing to me and I generally wouldn't consider it.

ReplyDeleteSo come this fall, I'm going to be spending 65 big ones on ponies it seems. Hell if I know where I'm going to get that cash, but dammit, I'll think of something.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't look like she's about to EAT that pinecone. You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteToday is a GOOD DAY.
ReplyDeleteOfficial pony game? BUCK YES!
ReplyDeleteIf they keep coming out with awesome sets such as this, I'll be eating pinecones alongside Trixie to pay for them all.
ReplyDelete@XyroTR1
ReplyDeleteIndeed it was.
Eh, I am more interested in Hasbro's upcoming Battleship KRE-O line, than the new MLP action figures to be honest. I got all of the pony toys I want :D...all except that glow-in-the-dark mini-fig Rarity. :o When is wave3 blind bags coming to the U.S.?! >:/
ReplyDelete...Just take my money now.
ReplyDeleteOh, also:
ReplyDeleteAnd then, suddenly, Hasbro into their own franchise.
Bwa ha ha ha! Toys! And I already have my mane and tail sculpt for Trixie done!
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of merch news today.
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank Hasbro for not only taking our advice on the Celestia toy, but also making a NM, VS and Trixie toy. I guess Trixie's greatness and powerfulness can fit into a toy. I hope there will be a Derpy toy in the future.
Keep on being awesome, Hasbro!
I hope that they sell outside the US.
ReplyDeleteWell really I just hope that they sell near me, though I think my nearest TRU may have actually closed down. Need that Nightmare Moon.
I wish Hasbro would be a bro and sell this stuff online, so I could import it directly.
With Celestia as my witness I will get a Nightmare Moon though.
I anticipate that in the wake of the fixed Celestia toys, (and I'm guessing all the subsequent ones will be white) that the original pink-colored ones will become collectors' items.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute...
ReplyDeleteWaaaaaiiiitt a minute........
ZECORA DOESN'T HAVE HER EARRINGS!!!
AGGHHH! FUCKING HASBRO, WHY YOU HATE US!?!?!?!
*joking.
It's been said many times before. It will be said many times again.
ReplyDeleteThey can't get here soon enough. That is going to be one heck of an awesome set; I'm tempted to buy two and keep one in the box, with so many ponies that most likely won't ever see the light of day outside of it, and with how fast this community could sell it out, I'd surprised if t didn't see a sharp increase in value.
Apparently there are five Toys R Us stores in the whole of Finland. They better bring the ponies here or I'll cry -_-
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm pretty certain these toys are still primarily marketed for little girls. Take note especially of white Celestia's glimmer wings that move. Or how they are all still brushables. However. Some of these particular toys are made in ways that can also sell well to Bronies. Especially the Vinyl and Trixie toys, which are acouple fan favorites and they know it. But they look so cool still, they can also go over well with the younger fans. I believe this is a way to appeal to little girls, but also appeal more to older ones. Think of it as trying to find a good middle ground that can make both sets of fans happy. :)
ReplyDeleteStill on the fence about games such as "My Little Ponyville" or the like. But we shall see how this one plays out.
Brace Yourselves: Crazed Phoe is Incoming
ReplyDeletewell this is a proof of how awesome hasbro is with us :)
ReplyDeleteNow wallet i dont want to alarm you but you are going to loose a lot of weight
If Toys 'R' Us offers these on their website we can expect them to last all of a day at the most. That is, unless they prepare for a brony onslaught.
ReplyDeleteI wish Mlp was as popular over here, shall have to see if our Toys R Us will be doing them!
ReplyDeleteToday has truly been a hectically awesome day.
ReplyDelete"Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes!"
ReplyDeleteMy wallet is not ready. D:
ReplyDelete(Hopefully it will be by the time these toys hit the shelves!)
So much merch! My house is gonna be completely decked out with pony. And it'll be interesting to see what new stuff this partnership will shell out.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that bothers me is that Vinyl Scratch / DJ Pon-3's glasses are not real but a sticker.
ReplyDeleteAlso did AJ finally get her hat?
The other day I visited my local TRU, sorted through a case of blind bags, and bought the mane 6 /)^3^(\
ReplyDeleteSo I'm set, methinks
When Hasbro makes a Derpy toy with derp eyes, then what?
ReplyDeleteHURRAY! Finally, it's about time for dear Celestia! She'll be really happy.
ReplyDeleteAnd Zecora, correct my eyes, I don't see her in the picture! Anyway, as for her earrings, I can't tell, but maybe they don't want to construct it, they treat the same way just like AJ's hat. I think. Or maybe just forgotten, on purpose or not. ???
Well, might as well ask for that combo package that includes NMM for X-Mas (or my birthday if it comes out early enough)
ReplyDeletealso we need to take note: nightmare moon and vinyl are only available in a set with other ponies that are more appealing to the main demographic. this is no mistake. Toysrus probably was only willing to stock them if bundled because they felt (perhaps correctly) that they would not sell well enough on their own to be worth the shelf space. this decision probably had at least 4 or 5 months of back and forth bargaining and haggling between hasbro and TRU, with a lot of compromise on both sides.
ReplyDeleteand zecora having glow in the dark? I can tell you right now it is because "well, this zebra character seems kind of plain, hasbro. we aren't sure if she will really be able to catch the eye of enough people." "what if we throw in... hmm... glow in the dark? will that help?" "deal."
hasbro didn't just make the toys for us here. they went through so much business double dutching and haggling for us as well. hasbro wants to trust us, and TRU probably does as well. so we need to make sure we don't violate that trust when these things come out.
it's gonna be another 6 months before these hit shelves. I'd suggest saving up enough money in that time so you will be sure you can afford them when they come out.
The price tag is slightly higher than my want for 'em.
ReplyDeleteAs someone with limited money and even more limited space, I have to be picky.
But I still want these far more than any other "toy" on the market right now.
Pretty sure this will be the first time Hasbro has EVER released a MLP villain as a toy, so thats pretty impressive! I belive the logic was "little girls dont like conflict so they wont want villain toys" or something like that.
ReplyDeleteWhich is too bad because as I recall, G1 actually had some pretty cool villains.
Anyways its (in my mind anyways) a pretty big deal that Nightmare Moon got to be the very first ever MLP villain toy!
This is the best of the crest guys.
ReplyDeleteThis is AMAZING. I might have to break down and get a brushable. Also, I think at this point they ought to release a Discord figure. That should be next. If they can meet us halfway with Vinyl who was in an episode for all of two seconds, they can release the Lord of Chaos. And they can make that tail of his brushable for the little girls market, if they really have to.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I find myself drawn to the idea of putting the brushie on Discord...
This is so awesome! I am buying 3 of each and keeping 1 in boxes ^^
ReplyDelete@Adrian Brony
ReplyDeleteYou are probably very correct about the red tape that went into this.
What we as a community need to do is BUY THE CRAP OUT OF THESE. SERIOUSLY.
I see this as Hasbro testing the waters a bit. And we need to send a clear message that we appreciate it and would like more.
Finally products I want to buy. Like I said before. We have money, we do not need our parents permission to spend it. Market to us!
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome! I am buying 3 of each and keeping 1 in boxes ^^
ReplyDeleteOH. ALSO.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Zecora and had resigned myself to never seeing an official Zecora toy because the African design probably "dosnt appeal to little girls".....so I am SO STOKED about Zecora. I dont even care that she dosnt look nearly as show accurate as some of the stunning mods Iv seen online, I WILL BUY HER.
eeeee. I am so excited *_*
I already own a Dash and Pinkie, and don't feel the need for another six ponies on my desk.
ReplyDeleteHOWEVER, that being said I'm going to buy the set for sure. I'll drop it off at one of those 'toy donation' that charities have around Christmas.
It's a win win really, kids get toys and I support the brand. I mean, we really need to make sure these sets sell. I'm fairly certain Hasbro (or more likely, a few people within Hasbro) went out on a limb and convinced their superiors that this set would sell units. I'm not sure how many TRU will be stocking, but the more sets they sell the better off the franchise will be and the more brony-themed things will await us in the near future.
I said it earlier today, but I actually want to buy toys right now. Unfortunately, the only one I could realistically consider getting is Zecora, due to the price (and room in my bedroom).
ReplyDelete...and to think I used to sneer at friends of mine who collect superhero figures...oh the hubris!
ReplyDeleteHopefully they will get to this side of the pond, I really wouldn't mind one of those NMMs (that's a nice mohawk on Zecora too).
Did I miss something or is there no new Luna?
No Toys'r'Us in my country if it even makes to EU
ReplyDeleteI so want Zecora
@Jordan you have at least 6 months, probably more, to save up money. 12 a month, maybe 2 less drive thru's a month, and you would be able to afford the lot of them when they come out.
ReplyDeleteWait will they have cutie marks from both sides now?
ReplyDeleteNightmare Moon, Scratch, White Celestia, and those incredibly show accurate McDonald's toys... All my yes.
ReplyDeleteSoon...a discord action figure...soon
ReplyDeleteHey, that McDonalds Pinkie actually has the right mane. Marvellous. Also, there's a Toys R Us within walking distance of where I live, so let's hope they sell in the Netherlands and it isn't too expensive for a cheapskate like me.
ReplyDelete@Daniel G.
ReplyDeleteEven still, some of us never study business that's why we didn't thought of that earlier. When Seth mentioned the wall market & not taking the risk for turning their original female dominated product upside-down. But this is today's world and also no longer the G3 times, so the males can enter the market.
Just like which is only my assumption, girls are even taking on Hot Wheels & Transformers. I have no confirmation for this, but many cartoons are for everyone while certain ones may stick to their one-gender side, like Barbie.
Anyway, I can predict once after the new toys come out, I'm sure their sales will sky-rocket and the demand for the white Celestia will be a hell lot more than the pink counterpart. And again, Faust will be very very proud and pleased.
This is my plan.
ReplyDeleteI'm saving up 14 bucks 4 mcdonalds toys (screw lily blossom)
I have 25 dollar toys r us gift card.
my aunt is sending me 20$.
I can buy the brony set.
Will keep saving up for new glowing zecora.
Hasbro...take all of my money.Take it.
@AFtwi
ReplyDeleteI doubt it. The toys never have.... and the toys came way before the TV show. Also I think (although I could be wrong, would have to dig up the old series to check) that G4 is the only one that had them on both sides?
Anyways its technically incorrect to have them on both sides from a collectors perspective (there are hardcore collectors from long before us bronies you know)
Its the same reason they still have brushably manes. What a lot of bronies might not realise is that to Hasbro the TOY product is still the number one aspect of the brand, NOT the TV Show. And the toy brand has a long history and formula to fit.
@FreezingShock
ReplyDeleteThe McDonalds version if I'm not mistaken, same as Twilight, they all use solid plastic hair. What we have here is the old synthetic hair, makes combing a fun thing to do when you can't do that on solid plastic hair.
bevare for the ponies. They attack in the dawn.
ReplyDelete@Silverthorn Yeah, it's pretty epic, the way our weird demographic is actually driving sales for them. I laughed a little bit when your comment made me try to picture a brony equivalent for Barbie stuff.... Haha, unlikely!
ReplyDeleteYES! Best pony finally gets the toy she deserves.
ReplyDeleteSo, now that Zynga (of all companies) more or less owns the Pony gaming market, will all fangames be sued to hell and back? I hate Zynga with a passion, and I'm really worried about this.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they will come to Sweden, because I really want that set! O.O
ReplyDeleteOKay so...
ReplyDeleteWho is that purple/gray pony with the blond mane in the McDonalds lineup?
It ain't Depry, the cutiemark is pink and according to the ring that comes with [that has cutiemarks]... it's 3 flowers.
Any ideas?
I'd just like to point out that The Toys 'r Us Exclusives are hitting in the fall, which is a perfect time to start stocking up on donations for the Toys for Tots charity. Buy one show-accurate Celestia for yourself, and one or more for the Marine Corps donation boxes.
ReplyDeleteBecause, as any toy retailer will tell you, girls toys have to be pink to sell. I think this fandom, multiplied by the power of donation, may be able to change that view.
@Buf
ReplyDeleteSeth clarified in the text up there that it's the other way around - Hasbro is making toys & games based on Zynga's brands. The makeshift PonyVille banner is misleading.
My wallet... is ready! I want that Nightmare Moon! And all those mcdonalds ponies.
ReplyDelete@Clockwork Shadows
ReplyDeleteThat's Lily Blossom. She's part of the current-gen toy line but doesn't appear in the show.
Now that you mention it, you're right. Hasbro has never released villain toys for My Little Pony in, like, ever! This is the first, and that Nightmare Moon looks pretty freaking badass. She doesn't even have the same model as the other ponies. Even the pose looks cool!
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't be this excited over these toys, but I can't hold my enthusiasm. I should contact Hasbro and ask them if they will bring those to Spain anytime next fall.
@Beatfox
ReplyDeleteHey thanks for the reply! :D
This is amazing, the selection of ponies is obviously chosen to appeal to us. And I wouldn't want it any other way.
ReplyDeleteA cloak and wizard hat for Trixie ought to be quickly constructed with some epoxy, same with grander pair of wings for Celestia. The modder in me is already itching to have a go at these ponies.
I hope the Toys'R'Us' over here in the EU will carry them as well, importing the whole lot from overseas would be kind of a pain.
Not to nitpick Seth, but I think that's a wedding gift that comes with Trixie.
ReplyDeleteEither way this has been an awesome day to be a fan. Honestly the only way this could get any better is if they announced another molded hair set to complete the other set or a Discord figure.
I'll be most looking forward towards the fall.
Hmm' I wonder if they're going to release anything for the Comic-con?
Speaking of blindbags where do they sell them in the US. I'm in Pennsylvania.
ReplyDeleteTRU is a 10 minutes ride from my home! yay
ReplyDeleteAny word on if these are coming to Britain?
ReplyDelete...I'm going to buy them :O
ReplyDeleteThat is all.
I'm not going to brush their manes and play adventures with them.
...well okay, maybe a little bit.
After the first post: "The Great and Powerful Trixie? Well, my life is complete."
ReplyDeleteAfter the second post: "Exclusively available in a $35 set? darthvaderno.gif"
Now: "Oh, she's one of the only ones to be sold in singles? Tears of joy."
OMG OMG OMG OMG, Pinkie and Dash and DJ will fight nightmare and trixie and OMG JUST PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY
ReplyDeleteI just HAVE to be in the UK for these sorts of things don't I?
ReplyDeleteAh well, hopefully these figures will come to the UK soon enough.
No Toys-R-Us in Russia. Fuck this.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even that convinced all of this is brony-centered. I'm pretty sure Celestia not being the proper color would've bugged me as a five-year-old girl, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited! I can't contain the joy (squeee) But I don't know if y'all know that the train set is already on http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/dolls-minidolls-my-little-pony I was shocked to see that up there already, but then again I haven't checked it since I bought the HoneyBuzz brushable in January.
ReplyDelete@Eruanna On the contraire, My little Pony figures have traditionally always had cutie marks on BOTH sides. Only G3 and up have had them on only one side. I assume it is cheaper?
ReplyDelete@Huscheli You are correct, older generations had them on both sides, and cost most likely is the reason why this is no longer the case. In general, the toys' construction is much cheaper now than it used to be.
ReplyDeleteBaby steps though, these upcoming toys are progress.
You just know somepony is going to go to Toys'R'Us the day of release, buy out all of the exclusives in stock, post them for 3 times the sale price starting bid on eBay the same night. Then visit them every time they get a truck and repeat just to make money off us bronies.
ReplyDeleteSo. Much. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteNightmare Moon is gorgeous. I worry that the five pony set, not only difficult to acquire if ToysRus exclusive in the US, that it will sell out in the first few days.
The only thing that could make this even more awesome is if Zynga and Hasbro could buy and distribute the extraordinary games made by fans and in development by fans. Through WeLoveFine they already buy the rights to selected fanart.
Anyone bothered that Celestia's wings are in a tie-dyeish Pink and Yellow color?
ReplyDeleteI think that the release of Princess Cadence helps them to meet their "pink princess quota", therefore making them comfortable with making Celestia white.
ReplyDeleteOh, so you have to buy the whole set? I only wanted Nightmare Moon. Maybe Zecora.
ReplyDeleteNot like it matters, who knows when or if they'll be released in the UK.
I'll probably have to buy them on ebay anyway.
Add another point to Lauren Faust's point meter. And a feather in her cap.
ReplyDeleteIn ASM's gallery, down by the animatronic Spike, there is what looks like next Christmas' Pinkie Pie ornament. Did anyone get a clear picture of that? Did anyone ask the rep why every year the Carleton ornament is a Pinkie Pie? (I suspect the answer is the same for why there's a giant Pinkie Pie playing peek-a-boo in Times Square, why Pinkie Pie is on the ID badges at the Toy Fair, and why there's a giant Pinkie Pie outside of the Hasbro offices. Pinkie Pie is CEO of Hasbro.)
ReplyDelete"...featuring a combination of both Hasbro and Zynga brands."
ReplyDeleteThis tells me enough. I won't hold my breath for something pony related, but with the predominant facebook demographic being, well... us, or at least people within our age group, I wouldn't write it off completely. They need to be careful, though. Zynga are bastards, and their evil 'freemium' model on something MLP could lead to another Smurf's VIllage disaster. We totally don't want that.
Are the McDonalds toys also available in the UK? I get the feeling they're not...
ReplyDeleteYou know I just realized, all those pink Celestias are now collectors items.
ReplyDeleteThis is truly an amazing thing...
ReplyDeleteI thought this would be a thing for the community to always aspire to, but never reach. And yet, it has been done!
What will be a replacement glue, I wonder. What is the next goal the community strive to, and be drawn together by? Perhaps DvD's? Perhaps fostering an even tighter, almost symbiotic relationship with Hasbro/Hub? Maybe an even more effective method of community networking?
...Perhaps we could buy land in Antarctica, thaw it out, and start Equestria as a country there?
After what just happened, I don't even think that last option is out of the question: this community could do friggin ANYTHING.
Is Canada getting all this epic shizz too?
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for the glow-in-the-dark Zecora. I haven't bought any of the "brushable" ponies yet, just because I don't like their non-show manes. But Zecora looks AWESOME and I'll definitely be getting her. And heck, now that they've brought us all these fan favorites, maybe I'll branch out and get a few more brushables!
ReplyDeleteI'm just so floored that this is happening. These toys are legitimately marketed towards Bronies. I just...I've never been a part of something where the fans are listened to this much. Thank you, Hasbro. You Rock. Woohoo!
Must get the White Celestia as I'm one who whined about Pink-lestia from day one.
ReplyDeleteBeyond that, "BUY ALL THE TOYS!" I really hope TRU ends up "Sold Out" in seconds when they're released. Be a positive sign and give Hasbro a direction to head with the older fanbase.
Next on my list of deman...requests: "Show accurate Luna."
As I said on the earlier post, that NMM mould would be ideal to create a Luna toy from. And don't be silly Hasbro - you know it would sell.
ReplyDeleteFall is going to be amazing. If I can afford it.
ReplyDeleteSo getting that combo package, and I may well get that Lyra too (though I'm a little annoyed she has the slanty eyes when she ought to have round eyes).
ReplyDeletehttp://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/02/toy-fair-pony-toys.html#c6686013039203959443
ReplyDeleteYear ago it was like this. Now it this.
We've come a long way. :)
I'm scared about Zynga.
ReplyDeleteThey're... I don't like to be hyperbolic, but they really are an evil company.
Their CEO has gone on record with pride to publicly explain that the Zynga business model really is taking advantage of everybody's guilt and other negative emotions.
Seriously, look up that conference he had with other social media companies. He even made them scared.
OMG, I'm going to have to call my TRU and make sure they get a full set of these in for me. I can see they've taken our advice about having some of the ponies with thicker hair have a double row - like RD and Pinkie. But that NMM takes the CAKE.
ReplyDeleteAnd OMg I'm going to gain so much weight from Mickey D's. (also, I may be the only Brony in my town...I'm SO going to get first crack at those toys! ::dance::)
i just dont get why there would be a problem calling her Trixie
ReplyDeleteHasbro made MLP and has the copyright on the name...it is Hasbro making these toys... why would they not be able to use the name?
DUDE!!!! They now have a MALE pony toy. Which means they have a MOLD now, for a male pony. Which means if these sell, we'll probably get Big Mac!!! :D
ReplyDelete@Adrian Brony
ReplyDeletePft, I don't care, they can still shut up and take my money as long as I can get that Nightmare Moon figure.
*jumps up and down while stomping on Spike's tail and squeeing*
ReplyDeleteSo we are going to see a ripoff game with ponies from Zynga?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to laugh if Trixie is Lunamoon. Well Trixie is kind of a generic name, that Toy Story Dinosaur is name Trixie and she has a toy of her.
I will definitely try to import those toys. Don't know where TRU is located in Sweden so I think it is the easiest and earliest way =P
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad they're doing a boxset for those figures, it will make getting them all so much easier. :D I'm not sure if I'm more excited about Zecora or Vinyl Scratch or... probably Nightmare Moon. That's just amazing. I just hope I can get them before they're all gone, that usually happens. D:
ReplyDeleteThere's going to be a Vinyl Scratch/Rainbow Dash set? That's all I need for them to just SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
ReplyDeleteI need the set with Nightmare Moon and DJ PON3 immediately.
ReplyDeleteI need the set with Nightmare Moon and DJ PON3 immediately.
ReplyDelete@Babs Bunny
ReplyDeleteIn the blindbags theres a big mac.
Whoa whoa whoa....NIGHTMARE MOON TOY!!??
ReplyDeleteNever bought the actual figures before, but now I definitely will. Hold on, Nightmare Moon! Don't sell out before I can order yooouuuu!!!!
On march 5th i go to micky deez.no gross food.just toys.mane 6 and cheerilee.Shut up and take my money.
ReplyDeleteSoooo...since Trixie is shown with a birthday (wedding?) present and is part of the wedding pack, does that mean she'll finally return in the season finale? Whoa. Could be epic.

ReplyDeleteLooks like more trips into the My Little Pony isles later this year, and more "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie" every time I walk by.
ReplyDeleteAnother Milestone day in Brony history
ReplyDeleteI love that you have to touch Celestia's cutie mark to make her wings flap.
ReplyDeleteTrixie copyrighted by whom?
ReplyDeleteI now live in a world where pony toys are looking good. As in, I want to purchase them. As in I, a full grown black male, will walk down the pink isle, purchase a pony set, then proceed to mcdonalds to ask for one of each girl toy. Then I will line them all up on my nightstand. And see them when I wake up everyday.
ReplyDeleteone year ago I woulda never saw this coming.
I'm going to become fat for ponies! i am going to spend all of my bits buying the mcdonalds ones.
ReplyDelete"Yellow pony" obviously is Sapphire Shores.
ReplyDelete@IkkouSoryu
ReplyDeletePoland joins you in pain.
WHY DO I LIVE IN POLAND
ReplyDeleteI GOTTA CRY 'CUZ I WON'T GET TRIXIE
;_;

ReplyDeleteI CURSE YOUR NAME ZYNGA!
ReplyDeleteI hate zynga They bought a game I used to play called warstorm....AND RIPPED OUT IT'S SOUL!
Other then that everything looks good.....still hate the brush able .
It'd be pretty funny if Trixie isn't named Trixie, considering she was mentioned by name a crazy amount of times in her episode. Can't wait. 2012 is shaping up to be one hell of a year.
ReplyDeleteI don't like to eat at McD's, but I may come in and buy one of every toy. (Most fast food restaurants will sell you the toy alone if you ask for it)
ReplyDeleteLet's see if we can lag Zynga's servers if this does turn out to be real.
And I bet those who bought the $300 customs are kicking themselves now lol!
ReplyDelete@EPHorizon
ReplyDeleteAs we seen Trixie is good with magic and works as a magician of sorts Magicians often have names they work under Never known a magician to use their birth name as their stage name.
Trixie: Oh that's just my stage name
And now it's cannon :P or not.
OH MY GOD. WILL THEY BE AVAILABLE IN GERMANY. I WANT VINYL SCRATCH SO BAD. SORRY FOR THE CAPS.
ReplyDeleteDamn, if this isn't proof that Hasbro cares about the fans, I don't know what is! Making toys of characters only popular with a segment of the fandom, how many companies do that? I don't buy the toys, but the Nightmare Moon doll sure is tempting. And as a huge fan of Zecora I'm glad she'll be getting some love from the company as well.
ReplyDelete@Unknown
ReplyDeleteI don't think them releasing a character that appeared for a few seconds is too much trouble for them, considering a lot of the toys released don't even appear in the show. At least Vinyl has appeared in the show and has a fandom. Though I do agree, a Discord figure would be cool. It's not really in the norm for a lot of girl's toylines to release toys of the villain characters, I'm very glad that Hasbro is being different.
@Octavia
ReplyDeleteAgreed. They're still marketable to both parties, Bronies probably won't be too turned off by the brushable hair. A large portion of the toys in the toyline are characters that don't even appear in the show anyway, so I don't think putting in show characters (even obscure ones) will really hurt their marketing with the little girls.
@brilliantspecter His... his excitement levels are rising so fast! 22,000... 24,000... 28,000.836937593! *BAMF!! Scouter blew out.* I dunno, his body may not be able to take it... :/
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm absolutely getting that set, if just for the awesome Nightmare Moon! :D
It'd be great if the first Discord release was pink... hee hee! The look on his face! It'd be priceless! *trolls the chaos troll*
im going to be the bugger that points out the reasons you should and shouldn't buy these
ReplyDeletezecora!? omfg it even looks semi-show accurate! and it glows? that totally fits a voodoo pony
the set? if trixie will be called trixie its gonna be a 1st day buy for me. if not, then i can wait.
as with trixie, i like the vinyl scratch figure...and of course i will buy the "SHOW CORRECT" tia, and the correct nightmare moon.
i will not buy any more than that, as i have one major gripe about all of this....where are out show accurate figures? 70% (i would guess higher or lower, but i go by the complaining i see) would pay more per figure for a show accurate, maybe even pose-able mane 6 and beyond.
AND WHILE IM HERE!! WHERE ARE OUT PLUSHIES!!!???????
@comickid " buy out all of the exclusives in stock, post them for 3 times the sale price starting bid on eBay" i know that feel bro the user "beto233115" on ebay seems to be doing a great job doing just that and is unfortunately the only one selling the Canterlot series stuffs (Twin Comforter, Sheet Set, Jumbo Pillow Plush and Throw for £102 and £50 shipping??!? no dice mate!)...why must us NON-US citizens get screwed over so easyliy...
ReplyDeletewait so there making trixie and pon3, thats great im excited and i probably shouldnt complain, BUT THEY STILL CANT MAKE AN ACTUAL BIG MACINTOSH FIGURE?!
ReplyDeleteSo much awesomeness. Is the yellow unicorn Lemon Tart?! That would be awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope TRU online accepts Paypal...
ReplyDeleteOh man...McDonalds ponies, and then Mass Effect 3 the following day?
ReplyDeleteIts gonna be a good week...
I would buy them, but as im mexican i always go with my family.... i dont want to go to the store with my dad seeing.... XD
ReplyDeleteWhoa NMM figure.. now I want that.
ReplyDeleteStupid TRU exclusives...the nearest one to me is like 2 hours away...and I can't even call to check if they have any since I don't have long distance phone service.
ReplyDeleteAttention bronies: I am the guy running the Toy Fair channel at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/oafe
ReplyDeleteThere's a company doing, get this, pony trading cards that will work hand-in-hand with DHX Media to make something to appeal to kids *and* adult fans, or so I've been told.
Watch that ustream channel tomorrow, as I'll be covering it once I find them!
(Also, which one of you said I didn't know Trixie's name? I'm-a smack a-da head for that!)
Oh, it was Kadreal. Kadreal, I'm-a smack-a da head!
ReplyDeleteI just contacted Toys R Us and sent off an email asking if they are going to be offering pre-orders for these toys or not. I told them my experience with buying the 12 pony set and how my order got through, only for me to receive an email an hour later saying... oops.. no it didn't cuz we ran out.
ReplyDeleteIt honestly doesn't matter much whether they do or don't open pre-orders. I for one will jump at the chance if they do... What matters is that they hear interest mere days from the announcement at the New york 2012 Toy Fair. I want them to be confident in having a large stock of these... And working at a Gamestop... I know that pre-orders can make or break availability. We won't order much of a game that gets no pre-orders. If there is no pre-order interest, we DON'T take the risk.
That's why I've emailed TRU and begged them to offer pre-orders for these when they are announced officially. It'll serve both as a good gauge for TRU at the interest, as well as give Hasbro and TRU both a valid heads up as to the quantities they need to satisfy customers at launch.
Go bug Toys R Us and ask if they'll offer pre-orders on these when they get officially announced.
DO IT!!! <--(Pinkie Pie voice)
PLS SAY THEIR GONNA ACTUALLY HAVE PONYVILLE!
ReplyDeleteThis is beyond anything I would ever have expected from Hasbro. A villain? A character with less than a minute screentime? A character who isn't even a pony? White Celestia? I can't even express my approval with this! Thank you Hasbro, I'll definately be on the lookout for Nightmare Moon.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, with regards to Trixie, could they possibly trademak her full stage name, The Great and Powerful Trixie?
(Sorry, can't resist...)
ReplyDeleteBronies: Thank you so much, Hasbro.
Hasbro: You're very welcome.
Bronies: No, really. This is so nice of you.
Hasbro: It's nothing, really.
Bronies: Oh, but it isn't nothing, it's everything! I, I just don't know what to say but thank you, thank you! [kiss] Thank you! [kiss] Thank you! [kiss] Thank you, thank you, thank you! [more kisses]
Hasbro: You are very we--
Bronies: Thank you!
Why is the white Celestia exclusive? It should have been white since the day it was released. A color changing Celestia would be cool too. I really want a Vinyl Scratch and Trixie. Is it true that the one and only Great And Powerful Trixie is renamed as Lulamoon? That is a terrible name. Whatever they name her I will still call her Trixie.
ReplyDeleteomg,omg,omg!
ReplyDeleteToo bad there aren't any Toys R Us's within like 100 miles of me. I would buy the HELL out of that DJ-Pon3 and Nightmare Moon.
ReplyDelete*Braces for renewed Lyra/Heartstrings argument*
Miss ONE DAY of pony news and THIS happens.
ReplyDeleteOh, for bucks sake! Hasbro is master of the want it, need it spell.
ReplyDeleteNow shut up and take my money!
Hooray! We're finally getting White Celestia!
ReplyDelete. . .
What did they do to her wings? Oh, well. It's still much better than "Pink".
My Little Pony is growing...
ReplyDeleteThis pleases me.
Zecora! Nightmare Moon! Trixie! This pleases me!
ReplyDeleteHopefully we'll get a Big Mac, Dicord, Derpy, and a normal Luna.
MUST GET EVERYTHING SHOWN HERE!!!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness i'm getting my first job this week so that I can earn money and buy all the pony stuff I want. lol
Now all we need is a BRUSHABLE DISCORD. c:
ReplyDeleteWell... Guess it's time to market my body and corrupt my morals. Ponies. Ponies. Ponies.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't mention Lemon Hearts, even though she's shown in the pictures (the yellow one with the blue hair). Is she a single or part of the combo?
ReplyDeleteAlso, can I just ask that people be civil about this and not hoard these packs? It's not fair to the rest of us if only a few people buy them all up and then make everyone else buy them secondhand for exorbitant prices on eBay or some such thing.
Yay I live near a TRU, but I don't know if this is coming to France :(
ReplyDelete@pukunui
ReplyDeleteActually, it appears more to be Lemon Tart, based on the brilliant cut diamond cutiemark.
MCDONALDS EVERYDAY.
ReplyDeleteUgh all I want is nightmare moon and they just HAVE to put her in a gigantic expensive set...I'll have to keep an eye out at Marshalls/Ross for this set..
ReplyDeleteI remember hearing some months ago on Bronyville about Hasbro working on brony-friendly merch, and I thought, I'll believe it when I see it.
ReplyDeleteNow I see white Celestia. An excellent start, but they might have been planning that anyway. A Zecora brushable? Sign me up, she's one of my favorite characters, but her merch might be because she's featuring more in the show.
Night Mare Moon. Trixie. Oh my god it's a brushable VINYL SCRATCH. I believe in brony-fied merch now! They really ARE listening!!!
@Xeno-Scorpion-Alien I don't really care what the pony is called. It's Lemon Hearts' color scheme, and that's all that matters to me. I've been wanting a yellow unicorn with blue hair for a while now.
ReplyDelete@pukunui
ReplyDeleteThat's fine with me, I'm only clarifying so no one is confused. And truthfully, for all I know (and in all likelihood), she will have a different name from the fan name, or they could have accidentally messed up LHeart's cutiemark.
Toys aren't really my thing, but the company still gets a thumbs-up from me just for doing this.
ReplyDeleteNow, a game set in Equestria available on Steam for $20 is something I'd definitely buy.
This is bullshit... The McDonald's toys were out in Portugal until the week before it was out in the US, and I only got Rarity... FML...
ReplyDeleteOh god, it's going to sound weird when I say I want the girls toy. It'll sound weird when I order a happy meal.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean a possible council game could be coming to? I would love a MLP FMI rpg. I cant wait to see the new toys lol.
ReplyDelete@KamenRiderEthanYapAnd the joy i fill is AWESOME!! Lol
ReplyDeleteThis fall...my manliness will double thanks to these toys, lol.
ReplyDeleteHope we see more Brony figs in the future, I'd love a Discord &/or Daring-Do.
Also looking forward to the Micky D toys as well..really hope I'm lucky enough to get a Cheerilee.
I wonder: Will I really be waiting at the store the day they are placed out for sale?
ReplyDelete@Captian64
ReplyDeleteIf you're familiar with how Hasbro operates it's toy line especially with their Star Wars figures, they're AMAZING at taking feedback from the fans and giving them what they ask for. I've been VERY pleased with their star wars line. They even have polls from time to time of which character to make into a figure next. Perhaps with the brony community they'll do the same. If anything it would mean more money and more happy fans.
Any news if they're making a to scale 5in white Celestia as well?
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Wait. Nightmare Moon, Rainbow Dash and Vinyl Scratch are in the SAME SET?
ReplyDeleteTRU WHY MUST YOU BE SO FAR AWAY. WHYYYYY. If they don't sell out on the website within minutes I'll absolutely dedicate part of my paycheck to the set. =3=
I wonder if these will be out before Supercon. I might be able to pick individuals up there...
They have a Vinyl Scratch? Hasbro y u no shut up and take ALL my money?
ReplyDeleteis the luna gonna be a figure available seperately or only a set/
ReplyDelete@princess molestia hehe cos i need a figure of my sister...'licks lips'
ReplyDelete
