Aside from a new addition and a few model edits, it looks like the next wave of pony McDonalds toys are pretty much the same as the old ones.
I'm going to avoid questioning that purple and yellow pony for the time being considering poor Cheerilee managed to surprise all of us in the end. Who knows, maybe shes will have some significance later in the season, or out there on the horizon in the third.
These are expected around March, so if you didn't get a chance to pick them up last time, this is probably your best shot.

Does the new ponie have a name?
ReplyDeleteWho's that to AJ's left?
ReplyDeleteThey actually look show accurate :D I know where I'm going everyday in March.
ReplyDelete@Cgeta It'll probably be on the packet.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the big question is: Can Lily Blossom be modded into Derpy Hooves?
ReplyDeleteThe Yellow and Purple pony looks like Lilly Blossom, one of the non vector-recolour brushable ponies that Hasbro put out.
ReplyDeleteThe purple pony is one of the brushable ponies I have her :D
ReplyDeleteThat's Lily Blossom.
ReplyDeleteThese are way better than the previous release.
Hi ho, hi ho, off to Mickey D's I go.
ReplyDeleteLol, I used the new pony's toy as a Derpy custom. I might have to go out and buy it again if she'll be in the show.
ReplyDeleteBlehh, those cutie marks. I'm still going to have to get these though.
ReplyDeleteStrangely, the Fluttershy toy looks ready to fight.
ReplyDeleteActually, these toys don't look as bad as some that my sister owns. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat's the best way to get a complete set of these when they are available? Can I just purchase them by themselves or do I have to buy the kids meals?
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know if these are in the US Mcdonalds only or at branches everywhere? I live in the UK but I am so game with spending all my money on Mcdonalds if I can get some more pony :D
ReplyDeleteHere are the new ponies, same as the old ponies.
ReplyDeleteActually, these toys don't look as bad as some that my sister owns. LOL
ReplyDeleteLily Blossom! <3
ReplyDeleteShe is great. Toy characters deserve more love.
Are those round things supposed to be brushes?
ReplyDeleteWow, usually toys from Happy Meals look absolutely nothing like the things they are supposed to be. The fact that these are so accurate is both a fascinating switch in fast-food restaurant philosophy, and an indication of how long it's been since I've been in a McDonald's.
ReplyDeleteSo...is LIly Blossom coming to the show or what?
ReplyDeleteCome March, game on, little girls attempting to buy happy meals, game on.
ReplyDeleteI haven't eaten anything at McDonalds other than an ice cream cone in about 5 years, but I'll make an exception for this.
@Bronydan7
ReplyDeleteI've yet to see them in the UK. At the moment our local one has Tom & Jerry toys, I think.
@Celysus
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I didn't even notice that at first... Yeah that's weird, single marks are odd looking.
O.O DO WANT!
ReplyDeleteI actually like Cheerilee
ReplyDelete@Miles
ReplyDeleteBolded so perhaps others will see it, and I can save some people multiple trips and mediocre food:
Most McDonald's locations will sell the toys separately from the Happy Meal.
Pinkie Pie: Still a cyclops.
ReplyDeleteRarity: Still got chubby cheeks.
Rainbow Dash: Permanent wing boner.
Twilight: Still best pony.
@Kinrah
ReplyDeleteDamn really? But hasn't Tom and Jerry not been popular in...what like 10 years or something? Get with the times Mcdonalds! WE WANT PONIES!
Last I checked, you have the option to outright buy the toys without getting a Happy Meal, so I will buy all mane six when they arrive
ReplyDeleteShame I can't stand McDonalds food any more. That and even if I did, kids meals are to small for a man! And I just know that no matter how much I try, I won't get the Twilight one simply because that's the one I want (this happened every time).
ReplyDeleteYep. One day after my college classes, I am just going to drive straight to a McDonald's and directly ask for the pony. Not even going to be subtle about it. I have no niece or sister.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to convince myself that the other pony is gray, not purple, and call it Derpy.
ReplyDeleteYup, the blonde pony in the back there is Lily Blossom, the "almost but not quite" Derpy look-alike. If I remember right she came out around the same time as Cheerilee in the brushables line, so that may be why she's in here. I'm still gonna pretend she's a Derpy toy... AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME! MUHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteHow much do the toys usually cost anyway? The same as the Happy Meal?
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I only got 3 last time, and two of them I made into kandi necklaces. I'm glad Lily Blossom's getting some attention, wahaha.
ReplyDeleteI usually dislike Mcdonalds but...
ReplyDeleteDarn their marketing schemes are working!
Is it just me or do those look a lot more like the show than the store toys do?
ReplyDeleteAlso, i vote we teach kids good brushing habbits by including colgate and a toothbrush.
Clearly this "lily blossom" is just Derpy dressed for a fancy party. Y'know a "she cleans up surprisingly well" kind of thing. ;) Sad there isn't a Celestia this time as I still need SOME version of her.
ReplyDeleteSo first Lily Blossom gets her own vector for the brushables, and now this? :o
ReplyDeleteI hope she appears in the show. It'd be awesome if she could become a re-occuring character like Cheerilee.
OH MY GOD ARE THOSE SHOW-ACCURATE MANES? OH GODAHAGAJGHOIAHUADIGNAOIDFGN
ReplyDeleteI wonder...Why didn't hasbro re-use a mane six mane on lily blossom? Does that mean she's going to have a part in the show?
ReplyDeleteThey definately look different, the last ones were very '2d'
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the cutie marks... AGAIN?
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the licensing contract between McD and Hasbro, if these are specified to look inaccurate.
"Pretty much the same." In other words: Still shitty!
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, these are quite nice!
Certainly better then all the terrible G3 toys.
Oh, and CHEERILEE! I need that!
ReplyDeleteThose look like the most accurate manes so far. Pinkie's and Rarity's seem to cover up their eye, but it might be just the camera angle.
ReplyDeleteFluttershy's pose makes her look oddly confident. It's like she's about to pounce at something.
cheerilee haters gonna hate, she is amazing
ReplyDeletethe fluttershy one looks like the improved it quite abit
ReplyDeleteI have the distressing feeling that Hasbro's silence as regards Derpy is that she's really Lily Blossom geeked on poison joke.
ReplyDeleteOuch... Celestia got bounced from the line-up? Coup d'état in Canterlot! Once the upper class realize that there are more alicorns than just the Royal Pony Sisters, they stop believing in Divine Right and start scrambling for the throne! But none wanted it so badly as the bloodthirsty and merciless Lily Blossom, who seizes power with a cold, iron hoof.
ReplyDeleteNow it falls to a simple schoolmare and the Elements of Harmony to restore the rightful ruler of the Principality to the throne and return peace and prosperity to all of ponydom! The epic struggle for the future of Equestria is about to begin!
Okay, seriously... I don't know how to play with toys if they don't give me a villain character to move a plot along. Once can only brush manes for so long.
I don't get why in these AND the blind bags they make Rarity's hair half pink...
ReplyDeleteI can forgive the lack of navy highlight in Twilight's hair for requiring too much detail, but they have to put in effort to mess up rarity's hair.
Oh well, beggers can't be choosers, and this stuff beats the G3 look of most G4 toys.
@statoose
ReplyDeleteG3 toys were not terrible.
Stop with the radom older gen hate people.
@vulpixel
ReplyDeleteWell, Rarity's hair is technically two-tone, with purple for the outside of the curls and a more magenta shade for the inside. They just throw subtlety out the window with the toy versions.
These need to be included with the bigmac.
ReplyDelete@Harwick
ReplyDeleteI expect t see at least the first chapter of that fanfic posted come next story update.
I have a new love for Lilly blossom
ReplyDeleteI have a new love for Lilly blossom
ReplyDelete@Astrophel Agonistes
ReplyDeleteI couldn't even type that much of it up without having it riddled with typos and poor grammar. The pre-readers would light it on fire before launching it to the moon.
@vulpixel
ReplyDeleteI'm curious, how do the G4 toys have a G3 "look"?
Their molds are completely different. Is it the brushable manes? Something My little pony has had for almost 30 years now?
Brushable manes on a pony toy are as normal and common as brushable hair on a barbie or wheels on a hot wheels car. Seems silly to complain about that.
I really wish they would release an Applejack toy with her hat.
ReplyDeleteLily Blossom!! MUST haaave!
ReplyDeleteI will order my Big Mac with a Cheerilee and a Fluttershy :3 (I like both ships)
ReplyDelete@madcow
ReplyDeleteYou're probably thinking of the molded-hair Fluttershy available in stores, which is essentially a Rainbow Dash recolor. The old McDonalds Fluttershy toy had a show-accurate mane, same as this one.
Cool, a proper looking MLP FiM toy :D
ReplyDeleteIf it comes to my country, they probably will remove Cherilee and the other one and no combs. Like they did with the past collection. :(
ReplyDeleteNice. The first set came out before I discovered the show, so I will do whatever it take to get my hooves on these ones (except for actually eating any McDonalds "food").
ReplyDeleteThis presents me with a problem: I want those toys, but I just don't even like McDonald's food. Only two things I can eat there are the fries and the McGriddles.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't the UK have these toys so I actually have another reason to go to McDonalds other than to indulge in tasty junk food?
ReplyDeleteOh, and that purple/yellow pony is Lily Blossom. I impulse-bought her brushable figure a while ago cos I thought she was pretty.
@Ford
ReplyDeleteLike @jodyjm13 pointed out in bold above, you can purchase the toys separately. You don't have to buy the meal.
Looks like I'm going to have to get a job...
ReplyDeleteIf you go to happymeal.com, you can actually ask Pinkie Pie or Optimus Prime a question! I guess they'll post the answers to the best ones?
ReplyDeleteI asked one. :)
You damn ponies are gonna make me buy a happy meal for the first time since I was eight, aren't you? Guh, and I'm gonna have to specifically ask for the girl's happy meal. Oh well, ponies have done a lot more for me than my masculinity ever did.
ReplyDeleteWell, the toys are one thing, but what I really want to see is the Scootaloo burger in germany! It won with 160'000 votes the contest against the burgers from 9gag and 4chan (who tried to cheat). If it wins tomorrow, we'll have a Scootaloo chicken burger in McDonalds!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.mcdonalds.de/mein_burger/index.cfm#/galerie_top_20
welp i know where ima eating all summer/spring xD
ReplyDelete@Acriaos Oh PLEASE let that win! That would be
ReplyDeleteTHE
BEST
POSSIBLE
THING
This better come to the UK. Especially since MLP has been broadcasted a lot more recently
ReplyDeleteWho's the Pegasus in the top left?
ReplyDeleteThe Gray/blond colors make me think of Derpy, but nothing else matches.
Who's that ponymon!
ReplyDeleteWho's that ponymon!
ReplyDelete@Yappy
ReplyDeleteThat's probably the best thing I have seen for a long while, I'm rooting for you :)
@ChaosDX1
ReplyDeleteThat's Lily Blossom. She's part of the current toy line but doesn't appear in the show.
@HarwickRainbow Dash is the best villain. Even when she isn't a shadowbolt.
ReplyDelete... by March this is what I will be chanting... TO MCDONALDS WE SHALL GO, TO MCDONALDS WE SHALL GO...
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, Quebec (one of Canada's Provinces) will get nothing, as usual. :(
ReplyDeleteOh my god. So much want.
ReplyDelete*looks up employment opportunities at McDonald's*
I like the models, but the cutie marks pretty much ruin these for me.
ReplyDeleteMfw cheapass McDonalds toys are more show-accurate than official toys:
ReplyDeleteಠ_à²
Yeah, I was going to say... the lavender and yellow pony is one we've seen many times before. Just couldn't place her name. Lily Blossom. That sounds right.
ReplyDeleteI think these might look just slightly nicer than the last batch did. And what are those round things accompanying them? Are those a restyled combs? Interesting.
A new Lily Blossom! Must get! I'm not sure why but I really like that pony!
ReplyDeletehttp://dft.ba/-case_in_point
Meh, I already got Cherilee and the Blind bag ponies.
ReplyDelete...But I must acquire one of those relatively show-accurate Fluttershys. Bronies gon' be all over those.
Can't wait.
@Acriaos
ReplyDeleteCrossing fingers for that
I hope they come to Canada :3
ReplyDeleteThe Pruple and Yellow pony is named "Lily Blossom"
ReplyDeleteJust in time for my birthday !!!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Harwick
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine you dat in your, on the floor, acting that entire story with the complete set of McD's toys and a few other toy ponies.
I can also hear the silly voice overs, the occasional "pew pew pew!", and I bet there'll be a surprise cameo of a attack helicopter or a few toy soldiers just to make the battles more epic.
Lily Blossom! <3
ReplyDeleteIn my headcanon, she's the dance-teacher at Manehatten Dance Academy. I have 2 blind bags of her, one of them is gonna get turned into Derpy
AS one of the ONLY non-recolor ponies, I actually really love Lily Blossom. She's pretty.
ReplyDeleteI totally have her brushable. *excited*
Lily Blossom? Kind of a weird choice. Was hoping for Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Spike, maybe even Discord.
ReplyDeletebut I didn't even know about the show when they last had mlp toys at mcdonalds, so this will do
Lily Blossom!
ReplyDeleteShe's my favorite non-show pony...
Prior to reading the comments, I was actually hoping that grey pony was Derpy in toy form :P
ReplyDeleteIn which countries?
ReplyDeleteWell at least they look right.
ReplyDelete@Blue fox
ReplyDeleteA Big Macintosh toy needs to be included with the Big Mac.
@jodyjm13 how exactly does one buy the toys separately? Just go up to the register and ask for the toys like a baws? And how much do they cost? The full meal+toy is only like a few bucks, so it can't be that much...
ReplyDeletemcdonalds y u no have luna
ReplyDeleteStill no hat, still not buying any pony merchandise. :< I'll never get an official, show realistic AJ.
ReplyDelete@Stallord969409 Hmms... Lily Blossom is a lame name. Need a villainess name... I know! I shall call her Devlin McDarkseid! :D
ReplyDeleteLilly blossom looks Lilly Awesome!
ReplyDelete... Holy crap did I really just say that!?
OMG LILY BLOSSOM!!! I recognized her immediately!
ReplyDeleteShe's the ONLY brushable pony whose box art is UNIQUE, not a recolor! And now she's appearing in the FRICKIN' MCDONALD'S TOYS! There HAS to be something about her, I just know it!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
I would not be surprised if she suddenly started appearing in the show. There has to be some kind of story here, there has to!
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is that she'll somehow be involved with a princess pony wedding. :/
Either way I'm confident the people at dhx media will make her AWSUM though!
Whoever's been making the ponies need to get the Cutie Marks correct. Why make the same mistake the second time?!
ReplyDelete@devidevi
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's more of a cost effective stance than anything.
I got a set of the brushables a month ago, and I'm reasonably happy with how they look except twilight. She's the only one who I can't quite fiddle with her hair enough to make her look right, (I'm no expert at it, but the other 5 I got within the ball park, though Pinkie is rockin' her pinkamena straight hair look) but that brushable twilight doesn't feel like twilight at all, so I think I need to find that one, just for the sake of show accuracy...
ReplyDeleteI also have the large Twilight cuddle pillow, because seriously BEST PONY. (applejack is a close second for me though...)
I'm curious now as to whether Hasbro intends to attempt to wedge Lily Blossom into the show. Along with Cheerilee, she was the only non-mane-6 brushable in the first wave of the FiM line, she has a unique design as opposed to a vector recolor, and now she's the only McDonald's Happy Meal toy not represented in the show.
ReplyDeleteI actually think it would be a shame, since they got the Friendship Express shoehorned into the show. The very least they could do is make an interesting, non-invasive side character that actually fits with the existing flavor of the show.
@Click Clack
ReplyDeleteNo, you did not.
You typed it.
A reminder AGAIN for anyone planning to mob McDonalds for the toys (I work at McDonalds so let's help each other make the experience as painless as possible for each other).
ReplyDelete1. All McDonalds can sell you the toys, just by themselves. It's about $1.75 for each but varies on where you live.
2. The toys we have in stock tend to switch about every 2 or 3 days, depending on how quickly we go through them. However, let's say that if Twilight Sparkle is the first toy in the rotation, then once we move on to the next pony we're not getting any more TS, ever. On occasion, we will have two toys in rotation but it's not always the case.
3. All McDonalds should have what's known as a customer satisfaction box. It contains about 10 of every toy in the promotion. However, once we go through the entire customer satisfaction box, we are never given another one, so when it's gone it's gone.
4. If you try and buy a bunch at once, please, come inside (don't go in the drive-thru, especially if looking for a specific pony) and try and avoid the breakfast, lunch, and dinner rushes. If you pull the customer satisfaction card please note that the box itself is not always in a convenient spot (don't ask me why it's not kept nearby, I have no clue) and so in order for one of us to go check to see if we have X pony, somebody else needs to be watching the counter.
5. Be polite and patient, customers who are polite and patient receive it in turn from employees, don't be another person who makes me dread my job even more.
Good hunting.
I know, I talk too much, if anyone is curious why you don't go through the drive-thru, here's why:
ReplyDeleteEverything in the store is timed. Managers care about keeping the times as low as possible. If you order a happy meal, or the toy by itself for that matter, if you are given X pony but want Y pony instead, whoever you asked has to stop what they're doing, then the drive-thru tends to get backed up, then the manager gets pissed that the times are going up, and everyone basically get's screwed. It's more relaxed with front counter though. Thank you.
Still got no hat for AJ, I'm sure because adding her hat is going to be costly, imagine you're in the factory business and build them in bulk.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least there's no Celestia, seeing her pink counterpart is a sight for sore eyes given by our delusional Hasbro sales people.
Ooh Lily Blossom is one of my favourite HasbOCs.
ReplyDeletehttp://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Lily_Blossom
And actually four toy only ponies have their own art, Lily Blossom, Rainbow Flash, Daisy Dreams and Starswirl. I don't know why Hasbro gave up and made the rest of the ponies recolours.
I really wish she and the other toys made cameos in the show, then those immature people on Facebook wouldn't go all EWW WHY YOU MADE TOYS LIKE CUPCAKE?!?
Of course, I like some background characters has toys.(Derpy espically, Lily Blossom is too purple for her) Why can't Studio B and Hasbro work with each other?
TL;DR verson: I like Lily Blossom and the HasbrOCs need more love.
Also, those toys look like keychains, I love keychains. Too bad I live in Australia and if these come here, Cheerilee and Lily Blossom would get the cut.
Hnnng Lily Blossom is actually really cute. Cheerilee looks kinda weird though.
ReplyDeleteI think I would have to opt for a Pinkie Pie if I had to choose one. Luckily there's a McDonald's nearby >.>
LOL i say lilly is smexy ditsy and thats where I draw my hoof.
ReplyDelete@Senior Waffles good stuff! Thanks for the behind-the-scenes info.
ReplyDeleteHmm... $1.75 for the toy? That's like over half the price of the Happy Meal. I kinda figure at that point I should just buy the meal and munch some fries, rather than try to pinch pennies. *shrug* YMMV
Also, about the toy rotation, is the order universal? I have like 3 McD within 5 minutes of me. Are they all likely to get Twilight Sparkle on the same day? Or is it worthwhile hitting up all locations in the area?
Do want them all, though mainly the AJ one!
ReplyDeleteI'm okay with them being the same, since I wasn't a Brony for the first round. Cool.
ReplyDeleteOn the off chance they appear in Poland, I'm gonna get myself a Happy Meal for the first time in years lol.
ReplyDelete@Pav Feira I don't know if every McDonalds in an area get's the toys in the same order, but I would imagine so. I live in southern California, in Ventura County and one man owns like 17 McDonalds in the area so I would assume for simplicity's sake, they're all on the exact same page. Though if all 3 of them aren't too far away I'd say give it a shot, there's still a chance one of them didn't burn through the customer satisfaction box by the end of the first day.
ReplyDeleteHoly. Crap. I am excited. I am going to be spending a LOT more time at work now.
ReplyDeleteSide note; I'll confirm if these are March tonight.
It's funny how the McDonald's figures look more like the actual show than the official Hasbro merchandise. Now I only need to scheme a way to buy multiple female Kid's Meals...
ReplyDelete@Pav Feira
ReplyDeleteThey'll all get them the same day, I suspect. They get sent about 2 of the toys per shipment, and most stores get 2 shipments a week, though normally only one included toys.
This is assumming they all recieve shipments on the same day. Otherwise, whoever gets shipments first, will have the new toys first.
They looks ways better than the original toys from hasbro! Want them!
ReplyDelete@Ki
ReplyDeleteIt's an erroneous mental perception that the fandom has had since day 1...
There was even a careful silhouette trace of the toys once, and compared the silhouette trace to a G3 and a G4 pony vector. The G4 vector was very close... and the toy had NO resemblance to the G3...
The problem is not all people can process the differences in 2D and 3D easily. I can, and I have LOVED the G4 toys as collectibles. There are people out there that just can't cross reference the 3D space the toys fill with the 2D vectors, and they fail to see the VERY CLOSE symmetry between the two.
Basically, it's the SAME reason that 3D movies refuse to take off as mainstream. The few people like me, who are WELL adjusted to viewing 3D, and who's visual centers in their brains have had the ability to become attuned to it easily, are clamboring for MOAR 3D CONTENT... while everyone else is just like...
Meh.
Same reason.
It's all about the way the brain handles the 3D space vs the 2D vector.
Most people don't think in a manner that interoperates the two, so they see differences the
ARE NOT THERE!!!
Get over it G4 toy haters!
Any other minor differences are usually for mold release, durability, or safety reasons. Celestia's horn isn't show accurate, cause they couldn't legally sell the toy in that form... It'd be a weapon.
The exact diameter of a horn or leg might be off by fractional amounts, so the molds can be pulled apart without destroying the casting, or so the legs or horn has the strength to not break off if played rough.
Those minor details do not make these toys into G3 abominations...
I HAVE some of those, and they look NOTHING like the G4 stuff.
Trust me, I'm a brony.
@Ki
ReplyDeleteOh yeah... it's also the mane...
Remember, the McDonalds toys have a brushable tail, but the mane is molded. It give the best of both worlds. Little girls and the manliest of men can brushie-brushie, but the mane still looks correct.
With the brushable manes, the mane will NEVER look correct, and people DO tend to associate identity into the way people (and ponies) style their hair/manes.
That is another BIG factor.
@richfiles This. I think for many bronies, "show-accurate" and "molded mane" are synonymous, either consciously or subconsciously. Plenty of styling guides out there for how to get the brushies to look closer to the real deal, but it only goes so far.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, if Hasbro popped out a line with existing G4 toy bodies and show-accurate molded manes, that'd probably be enough to appease plenty of bronies. Aside from pink Celestia (but hey, that's getting fixed finally)
im going 2 give my sister $10 tell her to go to mcdonalds as order 2 happy meals and she says can i have 2 girl toy meals perfect cover
ReplyDelete@mikem2436
ReplyDeleteGood plan. My strategy is to just walk right into Mcdonalds and unashamedly ask if I can buy some My Little Pony toys.
Hell, just the other day I bought a MLP coloring book at the store where I work (I am a 27 year old man, btw). I am not ashamed in the least bit to be a part of this awesome fandom.
vfzvf
ReplyDeleteCrap, ignore previous comment. >.<
ReplyDeletepretty sure the purple/yellow one is supposed to be Derpy Hooves
ReplyDeleteHaha another reason to go to McDonalds......as if the food wasn't reason enough.
ReplyDelete@MyBoyJ
ReplyDeleteThose are key chain like things. seems like the ponies are put on key chains, if you notice it stuck to AJs head
I thought at first that Lily Blossom was a weird version of Derpy before I looked Lily Blossom up :3
ReplyDeleteNot in Germany! FML
ReplyDeleteDude... that's Lily Blossom. She was in one of the first waves of playful ponies.
ReplyDelete
