The Living Tombstone's has released his take on what everyone's favorite brown cellist sounds like. It's pretty rare that we find one of these with actual lyrics. They are pretty deep too!
Heard this one earlier. It's not bad. Correct me if I am wrong but this is the first time I hear The Livingtombstone use string instruments (At least never so obviously.)
I know I should love it, but I feel somewhat conflicted. I guess I always do when others try and put stories to... well, me!
Though I can't deny, I do like Tombstone's works and I do indeed like this one as well. It has a good beat as always and the lyrics, though conflicting for me maybe a little, are quite good. It's definitely be going into my library. Also, favorited and liked.
Good song. I did find the ... I guess the right word is accent? I dunno... a teeny bit odd, but other than that it's good. I'm sure I'll get used to the voice if I hear it enough.
Normally I'm one to only enjoy instrumental music. As in no one ever speaks anything. Lately I've been enjoying some more of what this community can sing
When I first started working on the song, one of the first things that came to mind were "What would Octavia from EqD would say on THIS song?"
First of all, thank you so much for loving this song, I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
Second, I knew that my story I made up on Octavia might be off and kinda sad cause I had no idea what's the background story people made on her, so, sorry about that
But still, thank you once again Octavia for loving this song and I hope that my next song I'll make on her will have a better story to tell about her :)
Tomb! I absolutely adore that you linked both Scratch's and Octavia's songs together! They make both of them suddenly much more amazing than it already is! Thanks as always for the wonderful music!
It's definitely very well made though not exactly what I personally like. There are several really epic songs in soundcloud - go there, people. You won't regret listening to all of songs there.
Everything in mp3... I can never understand why people create music that is meant to sound decently (guitars, voice, piano) and never really release it. mp3 may be enough for ipods and laptop speakers but playing it on a cowon + sennheiser combo makes it a parody. Not even mentioning stationary sound systems.
But no worries, Tombstone. I still really like it and think the story you incorporated into it is pretty good. I haven't wrote her story just yet. I'm hoping to get to it... perhaps someday. lol I also like how you sorta linked it to Like a Spinning Record. I thought that was kinda clever. Just keep those awesome songs coming. Your songs are among my favorites in the entire community.
OH HO HO! VENTURING OUTSIDE THE COMFORT ZONE A BIT, EH TOMBSTONE? :D
And damn I dig that voice. Its not pitch-perfect singing, just fun...good-ass...vocalism. @1:40 reminded me of Ol' Dirty Bastard for some reason. Don't ask why, and yes that's a goddamn compliment. XD
It's a nice sounding overture, but I just can't get behind your vocals, they just don't sit right with me. This kind of song I think would sound better with a female vocalist, so don't take that last bit to heart. If only Ellie Goulding wasn't such a big shot :)

ReplyDeleteI didn't realize what it was saying so I had to go over it again
ReplyDeletePfft. Grey is the new brown.

ReplyDeleteOh, this is a nice change of pace from the usual genre of music uploads. I liek.
ReplyDelete@CogWeaver Brown cellist: one who plays a brown cello.
ReplyDeleteAwesome as usual :)
ReplyDelete@Vipera
Aw yeah. #nationalpride :3
Did anypony clock the direct link to "Like A Spinning Record"? Brilliant work on Tombstone's part
ReplyDelete@Mattatatta
ReplyDeleteYeah, I noticed that link as well.
Why am I crying :O
ReplyDeleteAwesome song! Yet, as a classical/jazz bassist, I still refuse to believe Octavia plays the cello. In my opinion, she will always play the bass.
ReplyDeleteAnd here is some reason to back up my illogical preference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=st9CxveZieg

Love this guy.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed, although Tombstone was a bit too nasal on this track. I mean it's his style, but it didn't really work this time.

"Brown cellist"? "Violet RD's eyes"?
ReplyDeleteI think someone is trolling us.
After listening to the song...

@Maquabra RD does have violet eyes... and I'm pretty sure when he says brown he's referring to the cello...
