The time is, once again, upon us fellow bronies! Bronystate is having another movie night this Friday and Saturday. Be sure to tune in and watch some fabulous movies with other bronies.

Here we are again, ready for another Mare-athon! this week, we will be streaming the We (heart) Ponies mareathon directly from the hub. due to this offset, we will not be streaming our normal Mare-athon. we /will/ play some of the new episodes that weren't included in the we heart ponies episode vote, and we /will/ play friendship is witchcraft, but events won't happen in any particular order. we will take some video requests, but all in all, the first 12 hours of our event we will kind of take it as it comes.
Midnight Run
Wow! What a week it’s been Equestria Daily fans. Do we have fun in store for you all. This Friday at 9pm is a viewer requested PMV (pony music video) and episode Marathon. Then at 6 am eastern well show the "we love ponies" marathon live with your favorite super bowl ads that you voted for. Then as a special treat for all the people who did not see the new episode, we will show it live at 10am eastern Saturday morning without ANY commercials. That's not all, after the episode we I'll have our episode roundup. Special guest.... pixelkitties. Our roundup is fully interactive as well just Skype call midnight.run11. Come join all the pony fun, no one “wubs” you guys like we do.

ReplyDeleteThey killed the Mane 6 rooms, and corralled everypony into the central chat room. Chat scrolls by in between 5-15 secons for a full page to pass, depending on how busy.
Given that the mods are being retarded tonight, I'd suggest one of the other rooms.

So are they keeping the B-Movie a surprise, or is it actually called Top Secret?

I LOVED BOTH movies, Airplane and Top Secret... What I could follow of them.
The DAMN chat was such a distraction. I NORMALLY enjoy the leisurely pace that chat takes, and I enjoy chatting about the movie with the regular friends that I've met in the Twilight Sparkle Room...

Wow, I ought to check in to the Friday night streams more often. I just happened upon an episode of the excellent Animaniacs (a show the HUB really should consider airing).

ReplyDeleteI normally stay up the WHOLE NIGHT (or at least go to bed between 3 and 6 AM and get up just before the live stream)...
I usually enjoy the live stream...
BUT...
I simply couldn't stay in there. I had very little fun tonight, and I could not interact with my usual friends there. It truly was a truly and surely a horrible experience. I spent to so much time just TRYING to keep up with chat, that I CONTINUALLY missed entire scenes from the movies. Conversations with individuals was impossible, cause you could NEVER let your eye off the chat or you might miss the reply. Most movie scenes that caught everypony's attention, I only saw the REACTION to in the chat, and the scene had long left the screen on the stream by the time I looked back. I stopped the stream and tried chat only near the end... I just couldn't do it. The stream is also pretty pointless without the chat, as that's just called watching a crappy stream when you could pop in a bluray or DVD.
I had no fun there, and I agree with Derpestia BronyState is slighty over zealous in there modship. FORBID you have rooms like you always have. Forbid you talk about or watch something that we don't care for personally, despite the whole room exploding about it. Forbid you have a chance to enjoy chat AND the video, cuz we say so.
Here is my message to the BronyState mods...

ReplyDeleteMaybe I should start up my movie nights again, I ran Nights advertised here back in the summer had a nearly totally unregulated chat cause I tend to believe that stemming peoples conversations kills fun.
but then I ran a shoestring operation with only about 300 or so viewers at a time on a good week.

ReplyDeleteIt's not so much the in chat moding that bugs me so much, though they do lay it on pretty thick. (though grimdark joking, like cupcakes or even requesting SHED.MOV can lead to bans).
What bothers me so much, It's the fact that they don't seem to understand that with growth of our community, they can't try to shrink back the chat. It's counterintuitive. I mean... Really? The community grows, mods have more difficulty controlling the rooms, and their answer is to slash 6 out of 7 rooms?
Screw that! The mods are BUCKING DELUDED!
Also... ONE STAR this post if you agree that the BronyState chat was hellishly derped during the movies!
Next time they pull this crap, I'm PMing myself and messaging #TwilightSparkle to myself to force the creation of a private door into the TwilightSparkle room. I encourage any other TS room regulars to do the same and join me in a PEACEFUL and SANE chat, just between friends.
If this kind of crap keeps up over there, I might JUST abandon BronyState. ONE night was TOO MANY nights of this horse manure!

For the record we are not closing the side rooms forever and ever like you seem to be preaching. We are closing them during the week to minimize the amount of trouble we can't keep track of. We volunteer our time and effort for this and can't possibly watch 7+ channels all the time.
ReplyDeleteThe side rooms will be open again during the Saturday live streams where they will be more effective in balancing the load, which incidentally is why they were ever created in the first place.
#Twilight_Sparkle is not *your* room. Viewers from all the side rooms were in the main channel tonight, and seemed to be happily carrying on with watching our wonderful selection of movies. I'm deeply sorry you couldn't keep up. Such is the nature of realtime communication with 400 simultaneous users.
You are always welcome to come back and chat. Just stop screaming like this one experiment, of which all viewers were informed well in advance via the newsletter posted on our homepage, is the end of the world.
