It looks like we can expect some pony parody ridiculous on this coming Monday. They actually did one a while back with Cowboys and Aliens that was actually pretty well made, so I'm looking forward to this one.
I can't really see Twilight Sparkle taking a warhorse role... maybe Applejack or Big Mac.
And I bet 25 cents we will see a Derpy.
Check out Tara's Twitter page for the source!

Wow, I actually have to watch TV, don't I?
ReplyDeleteAgain? Well okay then
ReplyDeleteI don't really like MAD on tv.
ReplyDeleteEXCELLENT

ReplyDeleteomg that's gonna be awesome
ReplyDeleteI just hope it isn't as drab and tasteless as the last MAD pony parody
ReplyDeleteMAD does stuff on the Cartoon Network?
ReplyDeleteThis is always welcone
ReplyDeleteUgh We don't care for the show AT ALL.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Tara Strong is going to be voicing the parody Twilight Sparkle. Now that's gonna be interesting.
ReplyDeleteI was there when Tara put out the tweet. Can't wait to see what happens. Cartoon Network is gonna see their ratings spike Monday night if I'm not mistaking!
ReplyDeleteHmm, let's see how this goes.
ReplyDeleteNormally I wouldn't give a flying fickle finger of fate about MADtv, even with ponies, but if Tara Strong is telling me to watch it, then watch it I shall.
ReplyDelete@Flutterfan
ReplyDeleteYeah, I watched a couple episodes, but it doesn't seem to know what audience its trying to get. It has parodies of movies like 2012, that kids probably haven't seen, but the parody is lame so adults wouldn't enjoy it.
My faith in T.V is back
ReplyDeleteSpy vs. Spy is the best skit of all
Of course, not everyone likes MAD, so your mileage may vary.
ReplyDelete@MyBoyJ
ReplyDeleteIt's not its.
Not taking a war horse role? Twilight is OP, she can do whatever she wants.
ReplyDeleteBoo!
ReplyDelete*HOOFSLAMS down 25 cents* YOUR ON!
ReplyDelete@MyBoyJ
ReplyDeleteThat's the thing about MAD, most of it seems kiddy but it has a lot of adult themed things. I'm pretty sure EqD has a fair number of Adventure Time fans.
If you ever see one of the old magazines you'd know what I mean
MAD is good as a magazine and the old live action sketch MAD is good. I really want to like the new MAD since they make so many references but for some reason it doesn't feel like it works. A good example of a show that can do that is Robot Chicken. But MAD tv is not a Robot Chicken. Tom's MAD blog is awesome though, if you are interested in traditional cartooning and old school comics.
ReplyDeleteIs the shout out to Bronies a secret if she's telling the world about it?
ReplyDeletesomepony needs to livestream it
ReplyDeleteHi Ho, Twilight, AWAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteA part of me feels this needed to be done.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'll be at work that night. I'll end up getting home just after MAD ends. :(
ReplyDeleteTO THE DVR!
Oh man, will I subject myself to MAD or just wait for it to show up on youtube?
ReplyDelete@Travis Smith
ReplyDeleteI love Adventure Time and Regular Show too. I've also read quite a few MAD magazines and old books from the 70's. I enjoyed quite a lot of it.
The show on the other hand, airs during "kids prime time" and has sketches like "Keeping up with the Car-Crashians" a parody of Keeping up with the Kardashians. A show that airs at 8:30 PM seems geared to kids maybe ages 8-12 who don't watch reality shows and wouldn't understand the reference.
DAMITTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just realized I've yet to see War Horse and it could ruin any type of plot points.
DAMMMITTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Sigh* I can only just barely love and tolerate that MAD show. They've had maybe three funny sketches in their run so far.
ReplyDeleteMan now I have to watch t.v and I forgot were I left that thing....
ReplyDeleteMAD TV is still a thing? I thought they cancelled that show ages ago.
ReplyDeleteThis would be much better if MAD wasn't the rat's rear end of modern cartoons.
ReplyDeleteHope I can youtube it afterwards.
ReplyDelete@MyBoyJ
ReplyDeleteTrue most young kids don't really watch reality shows, but this new generation is being raised on all these werid ways.
But the references are pretty well made.
Also Marceline is my favorite character from AT
@Dr. Rarity
ReplyDeleteThis is a different show just called MAD. It's a cartoon show on Cartoon Network. The cancelled one is the Saturday Night Live ripoff sketch comedy show.
The show isn't entirely bad. Granted, I only watch it if I see something interesting in the show description. The last parody they did wasn't too bad. It's actually one of many things that steered me towards ponies.
ReplyDelete@Travis Smith
ReplyDeleteI like the Ice King. He makes Pinkie Pie look normal.

ReplyDeleteActually on the thundercat's episode they did have a dash meme at the wall :3
ReplyDeleteI'm connecting to the internet with my mind.
ReplyDeleteYeah, because I'll totally be able to watch that from my first hour class at school.
ReplyDelete@MyBoyJ
ReplyDeleteI always thought of Pinkie as a version of Skips
I wish cartoon network had FiM i bet tons more people would end up watching it then.
ReplyDelete@DarthMaul22 Wait, that's PM...my bad.
ReplyDeleteThis better be good,
ReplyDelete@Impious Yep, Twilight's special talent is to do whatever the #$@ she wants to do WITH MAGIC.
ReplyDelete@Travis Smith
ReplyDeleteSkips strikes me as more of a Celestia type. Basically immortal, a wise source of advice, and left to clean up various mystical messes.
$.25 Seth? Go, high-roller! :P
ReplyDeleteI hope this is really good. I tend to like MAD TV, so I'm hopeful it'll be as good as most of their stuff.
MAD is the Jamarcus Russell of comedy shows
ReplyDeleteIts too bad Madtv is absolute garbage
ReplyDeleteI see an AcousticBrony there.
ReplyDeleteI've watch MAD a few times. It's a bit hit and miss, but it's a damn site better than whatever crap my sisters put on when they take over the TV.
ReplyDeleteThough, since it's coming on at 8.30PM, I think the TV shall be occupied and I won't be able to catch MAD. Oh well, somepony will put it on YT anyway, which is how I watched the previous parody anyway.
@MyBoyJ
ReplyDeleteHmm, you make good sense, I always thought, appears mysteriously, knows strange insight, useally random words.
@MyBoyJ
ReplyDeletehuh, the more you know.
I actually liked MadTV, the cancelled show that use to be on FOX.
ReplyDeleteBy the description it seems like they're going to combine MLP with Warhorse, the recently released movie then make a geeky men joke.
This requires popcorn.
ReplyDeleteOn the subject of Cartoon Network, I probably wouldn't have been so kind to MLP:FIM if Adventure Time hadn't softened me up to flying unicorns and rainbows.
ReplyDeleteGod she's hot.
ReplyDeleteGod she's hot.
ReplyDeleteSo who else thinks they're going to depict us as fat neckbeards and cause intense butthurt among the community?
ReplyDelete@Lord Bloomberg
ReplyDeleteI kinda doubt they'll even acknowledge us.
@autobotgodzilla
ReplyDeleteReally?
Mine was the old animated movie Cats Don't Dance and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
@autobotgodzilla
ReplyDeleteYeah that was actually on my mind when i first watched FiM "well i thought adventure time was gay at first and it's good" so long as i ignore the plastic toys im cool.
...challenge accepted... But seriously I wonder how cooperative Hasbro has to be to allow Tara Strong unto a competing channel to do a spoof of one of their most popular shows? Guess it's good advertising, when everyone checks out MLP and sees just how much better it is than MTV. Seriously how did MTV end up on cartoon network?
ReplyDelete@CityFlyer502: Cartoon Network will only see its ratings "spike" if enough people with Nielsen People Meters installed on their TVs watch the MAD parody.
ReplyDelete@Lord Bloomberg
ReplyDeleteIt may just be an offhand mention of guys who like ponies, or maybe they actually will slip a Derpy in there somewhere. Though I can't help but compare MAD's depiction of ponies to Hotdiggedydemon's, minus the obscenity and grisly murder of course.
@Bronyhub
ReplyDeleteHow did MTV end up...what?
@autobotgodzilla
ReplyDeleteI think he means in terms of material they parody. MAD seems to do quite a lot of parodies of MTV reality shows.
@MyBoyJ
ReplyDeleteNo, MAD's depiction will be a string of unrelated pop culture references with poorly drawn ponies somehow crammed in.
Still not watching MAD on CN. Tried to watch it, they're trying too hard to be funny, causing epic fail.
ReplyDelete@autobotgodzilla
ReplyDeleteThat's more than likely, unfortunately. I meant like hotdiggedydemon in terms of the characters acting very un-ponylike.
Television is evil.
ReplyDelete@Jordan True. Point being, there's probably gonna be several curious bronies tuning into CN Monday night.
ReplyDeleteI've never even heard of this show...
ReplyDelete@NinjaGalad
ReplyDeleteReally, bro?
Anyway, I'm ambivalent. But I'd like to see if this is going to be entertaining in itself, entertaining because Pony, or not entertaining.
But I'll watch (if I remember) just to see Twilight Sparkle I doubt Tara Strong would voice her, but if she is, then I will watch. I'll post post-its on my computer or something.
And hope she doesn't die or something.
@Derpestia That's funny in the sense that it worked the reverse for me. I didn't really give Adventure Time much of a chance, yet I was entirely open to watching ponies. Kind of stupid when I think back on it.
ReplyDeleteEverypony needs to watch it whether they like it or not!
ReplyDeleteAlso, pay me $.25 every time Discord makes an unexpected, unscheduled cameo in a future MAD episode .
@Verbose
ReplyDeleteJudging from the tweet, Tara Strong will be voicing the horse character in the Warhorse parody. It might even be a Twilight Sparkle lookalike character.
Oh hey this could be really--"ON CARTOON NETWORK"*
ReplyDeleteNope.
MAD has a few good skits...
ReplyDeleteI might record this
MAD's really hit and miss for me, but Tara Strong is telling me to watch it, and apparently voicing Twilight, SO WATCH IT I SHALL.
ReplyDeleteStill, I'll never forget what they did to Applejack...(RARITY'S cutie mark?! Seriously?)
Unless of course, it's just a Twilight Sparkle lookalike in the sketch and Tara Strong is not involved but is encouraging us to watch it because she usually plays the character.
ReplyDeleteall my bits says that the secret shout out is related to Twilight rule 34.
ReplyDeleteCan I just say how great Tara Strong is on Twitter? Really funny tweets and throws Twilight Sparkle references constantly.
ReplyDeleteI think she's really gets Brony/nerd culture.
Some of the clips on MAD are funny, but most are complete shit, so I hope this is a funny clip and not a shitty one.
ReplyDeleteMAD on Cartoon Network blows SUPREME ass. Will not be watching...
ReplyDeleteSo...no, buck the stupid parody. Hated the first one anyway.
I watch MAD... This will be the second episode to parody My Little Ponies, and they did TWO separate pony parodies in the same episode the first time. It's very groan worthy, but occasionally, they have a gem or two. Also, Spy vs. Spy is classic awesome!
ReplyDeleteWell I bet I will miss it, but I'm betting someone will get it up on youtube at some point after the parody airs...
ReplyDelete@SouthParkTaoist
ReplyDeleteI agree, MAD magazine is good, and the TV show would be good if it were on Adult Swim instead of prime time.
I also think Tom Richmond is best MAD artist and blogger. I need to get his caricature book.
Dont naturally watch it. But I'll likely catch it when it is uploaded to youtube. So.. bronies. Please upload to youtube..
ReplyDeleteMonday at 8:30 pm!?
ReplyDeleteBut I'll be watching ponies then!
"@shiniscope Superstar @tarastrong returns to the role of Twilight Sparkle in the #MAD parody, MY LITTLE WAR HORSE! Monday/8:30pm on Cartoon Network!"
ReplyDeleteIt makes no difference whether it's good or not, Tara going to be the voice for Twilight in it, that alone is worth seeing it IMO.
Too bad MAD is nothing but witless insults to popculture. I've watched two episodes and they were both completely mind numbingly awful. CN could do so much better with that time slot.
ReplyDeleteEh, it's most exposure for the fandom. I personally don't find MadTV funny at all.
ReplyDeleteAlright!!!
ReplyDelete...I have no fucking idea how I'm even liking MAD even a bit, it's so stupid, but I just do for some reason.
Never heard of MAD before. I'll watch it if Equestria Daily links to it on Youtube.
ReplyDelete25cents?! you're not much of a betting man i assume.
ReplyDeletehmmm thiiis might not end well :P
ReplyDeleteI look forward to Monday. ^_^
ReplyDeleteThis sounds jokes, can't wait for it!
ReplyDeleteFirst MAD, then Robot Chicken, then South Park, then the world!!!
ReplyDeletelol, this should be good.
Oh my God yes. I was expecting someone to make a parody of this, a crossover of both the show and the movie (which is actually not that good, to tell you the truth). And having Tara Strong in there just makes it even better! Can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't see why ANYONE would get excited over this. MAD TV fucking sucks.
ReplyDeleteMAD TV is horrible, but I'll watch the new episode for the ponies. The best that can come out of this is it could expose Bronies to CN's good shows, Adventure Time and Regular Show; nothing irks me more than Bronies who insist that MLP is the only good modern cartoon.
ReplyDeleteI really hope this goes on youtube cause i have no cable at my house
ReplyDeletePlease dont be awful and insulting...
ReplyDeletePlease dont be awful and insulting...
Please dont be awful and insulting...
PLEASE dont be awful and insulting... X{
@Your Friend the Taxman What, I'm not allowed to dislike Adventure Time? It's no big deal to not like stuff.
ReplyDeleteSince Tara Strong is voicing fake Twilight...will some things happen so that mlp also premires on CN?That would be great cause I got no hub channel.And it would introduce young kids to mlp
ReplyDeletethat show is like the worst show on cn ever....we should feel bad that there doing a parody of fim on mad its only going to turn out horrible in the first place
ReplyDeleteSomebody better put this on youtube!
ReplyDeleteCurse my limited choice of cable suppliers!!
- Also, I believe it's "secret" because only Bronies will get it. Maybe she snuck it in without them realizing? Also she called us -her- Bronies, squee!! <3
finally watched it. <3333
