It would be awesome if they could have a livestream where they would play with their fans on games and talk about whatever. That would be so awesome! /)^3^(\
@XyroTR1 Thanks for the episode stream this morning, Xyro. I know it's probably pretty stressful especially when there's technical difficulties but everyone really appreciates it. :)
We already have a bad rep about that stuff from some of the things that have been posted here and then there are the stuff seth has posted in his past relating to the female dragon from spyro all that keeps pooping up...people already look at us and think that we don't need to keep dropping lil eastereggs of NSFW for them to find.
I doubt people are tuning in with their five year olds to hear commentary about the show, so the R34 isn't really a huge deal. From the little bit of the stream I heard, it's really just community members talking about other community members (since this was supposed to be a panel/interview thing after all).
I never would of heard of the guy if EQD had not started putting his name out there hard.
It's like bronystate it's already been here so long and been adv on EQD that there not going anywhere mic's not even that funny ill give you a few reasons.
@Vedrim I'm not worried about 5 year old being corrupted by seeing R34 in some random stream. What I don't like is the way the R34 is so casually thrown around... it reminds me of the furry fandom... which there is obviously a large overlap with the FiM fandom, but I don't want the R34 to become such an acceptable part of the fandom. Hell, it even has the potential to ruin our fandom's unique relationship with Hasbro/the show creators if that kind of stuff gets out too frequently.
So yeah, just one little slip in the livestream isn't anything to cry over. But so far, in every livestream that Mic has hosted, R34 has shown up.
For the record, I thought this livestream was a vast improvement over the previous times. In the past, I felt the whole bringing the pony celebrities together or whatever felt wasted when they simply spent it playing games and not really discussing ponies. And while Mic was entertaining, he had trouble letting others grab the spotlight.
However, in this stream, Mic's doing a great job letting others do the entertainment and actually talk about ponies, and it feels like the talent is actually being used! So yeah. Even with that little R34 miscue and the awkwardness that is d-pad and hypermark, I like this stream.
Indeed. As each stream progressed we're trying to figure out ways to NOT be a nuisance or an unfortunate setting for you guys.
While I don't know about Mic, I would love everybody to like what goes on in the stream. Because, believe it or not, they're not gonna end anytime soon.
I'm pretty biased in this but, why is it just music and art? Why is there nothing for fanfiction? Fanfiction is a huge part of this fandom and yet it always seems to get pushed aside in events like this (probably because it's mainly one guy calling the shots). I don't see much preparation going into the questions that are asked, why not ask some more interesting questions than "what's your favourite genre of music?".
Ok so how about for next time you have an actual group of people deciding interesting questions and, gee I dunno, maybe ask the community if this is supposed to be a community event, rather than giving total control to one person?
@knighty I agree. So far the stream has been decent, in terms of Mic actually letting people talk. But it's still basically "The Mic the Microphone Show" even thought it's being advertised on EqD as a community event.
There's nothing wrong with letting one person host it, but it still has this vibe of "famous brony asking other famous bronies inane questions, while all the community members get ingored in an overcrowded chat room."
Eh there just gonna do what they want we really don't have much say in it unless a bunch of us got behind something and that's not going to happen these are are figure heads most people wills till just do as they say.
We must learn that competence is better than extravagance, that worth is better than wealth, that the golden calf we have worshiped has no more brains than that one of old which the Hebrews worshiped. So beware of money and of money's worth as the supreme passion of the mind. Beware of the craving for enormous acquisition.

- Kathleen Norris I always try to believe the best of everybody -- it saves so much trouble.

We need a coat with two pockets. In one pocket there is dust, and in the other pocket there is gold. We need a coat with two pockets to remind us who we are.
- Parker J. Palmer
Since im stoned to the point of what i will consider better posting than what i norm do i give you these quotes.
I hope people don't just see this as whining, I'm trying to think of real ways to make these streams better and more entertaining for everyone, not just the people in the stream.
But I think for future events, there should be "question gathering" periods before the stream, where the community can submit questions and discussion points to be talked about during the stream.
Additionally, I think it would be nice to possibly choose one or two not-so-famous bronies to "spotlight" during the stream. They could have a live interview with a lesser known or up-and-coming artist or musician, instead of all the super famous ones that everyone already knows about.
Anyways I hope these suggestions will at least be taken into consideration.
We can easily have a ask-tumbler set up we do there ask questions make a poll vote it would be pretty easy considering what most of us do just on a random basis and if EQD were to support something like these IT might actually get flooded but heh
I watched the stream for a bit, but didn't really get anything useful out of it. It's just a bunch of folks talking over each other and Mic acting like a complete ass.
I appreciate what all the artists, blog folks, podcasters, and musicians do for the community, but I think I'll pass on watching any more of these streams. It was just bad, like watching a train wreck in slow motion and knowing you can't do anything about it.
But since I know just complaing is useless, and doesn't help anything, I will offer a suggestion. Perhaps future streams should have less people, that way there is less of a chance that everybody will talk over each other. Also there should probably be someone who is prepared to take over in the event that the host has to leave, as Mic leaving (it wasn't his fault, things just happen) made the stream grind to a complete halt. Had someone else had a list of questions the show might have been able to continue.
Also, watching some dudes who are playing games when I can play games and have more fun with my friends on steam makes me feel like a loser (maybe because I'm a loser =3)

Mic scrolled through one NSFW pic via his Tumblr dashboard.
ReplyDeleteThat was it.
That was seriously it.
@Josh Spicer

I yelled at him for the 34! Sorry guys!
ReplyDeleteThis is just my opinion, but I kind of wish Equestria Daily would stop using Mic the Microphone to host their streams.
ReplyDeleteIf you like R34 that's fine. But Mic sure seems to love "accidentally" showing it on the public stream...
@Pinkish Poe
ReplyDeleteBut Mic is the most famous brony! He's the brony every brony should know! How could the stream function without him?
I doubt people are tuning in with their five year olds to hear commentary about the show, so the R34 isn't really a huge deal. ReplyDeleteThe FF issue was brought up in the chat, so that's probably something that's gonna be looked into.
As for the questions, that's nothing that I can change. Mic is the one who asks the question so...
@Josh Spicer
ReplyDeleteOk so how about for next time you have an actual group of people deciding interesting questions and, gee I dunno, maybe ask the community if this is supposed to be a community event, rather than giving total control to one person?

@Derpestia
And that's exactly why these issues need to be raised here. *shrug*
Seth is best pony phone, that is all.

Sheesh, I'm wrecked.
ReplyDeleteBut damn, that was a lot of fun.
What the fuck did I just watch?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, but I quit about half an hour in because it reminded me of Ghost Adventures.
"Hey guys, there's a ghost right here—"
"Shut up!"
"But, he's right he—"
"SHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"What is—"
"YOU'RE MAKING TOO MUCH NOISE! THIS IS MY SHOW!"
to people who are whining
ReplyDeleteSHUT THE FUCK UP
This is so funny!
ReplyDelete@suika2344
ReplyDeleteFrom my standpoint you are the one whining so..
Is this a real screenshot? If not they should really consider doing that in an episode.

Looking at Trixie Tacs image. Don't know if disturbed or wierded out.
ReplyDelete"Don't eat Trixie!"
Good image, though. Pretty funny. How many of you would eat her (for a non-sexual reason)? I wouldn't.
@Deucey Dee
ReplyDeleteHorse meat is greasy and tough would have to make a stew.
You can suck em and suck em and suck em and they never get any smaller. At least I think they don't. A few more tests...
