• International Toy Fair Translation

Over in Nuernberg, the Internation Toy Fair recently went down.  Someone named Weatherhoof managed to get an some bits of information out of one of the Hasbro representatives there.  The NDA For it recently dropped, and everything has been translated up. It doesn't have the best wording on the planet, but that is the nature of translations I suppose!

Sadly I see no mention of Lyra, Bonbon, Trixie, Gilda, Scratch, Derpy, or any other of our favorite ponies.  Hopefully Princess Cadence surprises us with some crazy Luna tier personality.

In fact, I think it might be aimed more toward the collectors among us in general (Aside from the obvious little girl demographic).    We just need to get bigger! Recruit more! Charge!

And check the translation out after the break.

    1. I know this is a completely tangential topic, but this season, there have been nearly enough shots of hospital rooms and stuff to do a Scrubs/poni parody comic.

    2. 2 small things:

      1. This is the press note depending the toy highlights of this year.

      2. The interview with Hasbro with your questions answered will be released next week, because one certain release date (YOU ALL WANT TO KNOW) needs to be verified internal.

    3. Those are... quite expensive to be honest.

    4. Cadence is the star at every wedding?

sheesh how many times has she done it?

    5. @Mark

We need more toys that actually resemble the art style of the show. Not G3.

      ReplyDelete
    6. In other words, Hasbro's toy business seems to know nothing of the bronies.

And now back to being topical again: I must still acquire a Roseluck from the FIRST set of blind bags, never mind the other two sets

    8. @Weatherhoof Any chance you can link us to that once it's released?

    9. Princess Cadence is the Star at every wedding?

      Sooo...

Celestia is the Goddess of the Sun and Sunsets and Sunrises, Luna is the Goddess of the Moon and the Stars...

Cadence is Goddess of Love, Weddings, and perhaps the Earth itself?

Or she's just a toy pony with no significance to the plot of the show.

    10. I think they are really ignorant of our little community here... again. Oh well, eventually Hasbro will figure out that we have quite a bit more cash then your average three year old. Silly Hasbrony.

    11. I've actually read this now and I'd forgotten how different from the show the merch really is...
      Ugh...

Hasbro seriously needs to network better: If their writers and toy developers don't even know each other, and if their show doesn't advertise the actual toys they're selling (As it should be based on their business model), then they're doing it wrong.

    12. No wedding is complete without a beautiful bride and a real wedding is incomplete if the groom is missing? Horseapples!

What about same-sex marriages? Those are technically legal in Germany.

      P.S. I support same-sex marriage.

I'd like to think of Cadence as the goddess of love and weddings

Not trying to get political, I'm just pointing out a logical fallacy.

I'd like to think of Cadence as the goddess of never really existing, or being a character who lived thousands of years ago.

Setho and the crew will post it here - they did the proofreading - but the certain date is something everypony in Europe want to know (yes, I know I am teasing) (And that date is NDA'd until mid-next week)

Nethertheless: The "flower girls" are the CMC, slightly different from the school class set (Scoot's eyes are more show accurate in the flower girl-set) - and there will be alot more stuff this year.

      ...Okay then
So like the goddess of dreams I can go with that too

    21. @FireflyMuse

I mean, I would prefer it if Cadence was a fictional character on the show, like Daring-Do, who exists only in a storybook. Or if her episode was a flashback sequence that happened thousands of years ago and established that she is Celestia and Luna's mother and Shining Armor is their father.

    22. "Synopsis: In the motorized locomotive is enough space for one little pony"

The Equestrian Transport union would like to rebuke these slanderous claims and assure people it's trains are not quite so lacking in capacity.

Way ahead of you, Princess. Maybe you could shed some light on this issue. Is Princess Cadence your mother?

    26. Hmmm...a wedding...that sounds interesting,at first I thaught it was for big mac and cheerilee.:P
So...a princess getting married...so does that mean she'll have more power than celestia?
The toys kinda stink.they look nothing like the real things and why does hasbro obsess over celestia?nopony CARES about her really.
PS my sister is talking about her friend joining a "pony circle" in my town but she never saw fim.
      r u kidding me?!
Meh.I wanna join the pony circle.
But I bet my sister is full of bullcrap.

      Where's the fun in that?

I do like your idea though, I like history/story based episodes in most things.

I thought dreams were a part of Luna's domain.

    33. @MyBoyJ

Of course he isn't, he had to go see a certain bald Captain.

Besdes, you don't have to be Discord to dislike being straight to the point all the time.

    35. "This year small pony lovers will like" That statement is very misleading, thoughts instantly went to the blind bag ponies. Damn Hasbro and their seeming lack of knowledge of the brony market.

      ReplyDelete
    36. Where are my show accurate toys, Hasbro?!

      ReplyDelete
    37. @MyBoyJ

A lot of horse goddesses are fertility goddesses. For example, Epona and the Celtic sovereignty horse goddesses.

Logically, fertility goddesses would not care about same sex weddings. Nothing in it for 'em.

    38. @Schneeraubtier
You have to realize that, in terms of merchandise marketing, that we are not a very big portion of their sales. A few months ago, a poll went up on here asking what kind of Brony you were, and "I am a toy collector" was second lowest, I believe, after "Clop clop clop." If they made merchandise specifically for us, how many of us would really buy it?

      @Apollo-kun
      Agreed. Respect the old school.

      ReplyDelete
    39. @Suburbanbanshee

Okay, but I'm talking about the wording of the article, or whatever it is.

"No wedding is complete without a bride and groom".

Mainly I'm complaining about what the Hasbro rep said. It's really nitpicking, but it struck me as an odd thing to say.

      ReplyDelete
    40. @Flyinpenguin117

I buy the hay out of pony merchandise. I have the Toys R Us blindbag set, four of the Mane 6 as brushables, an official pony calendar, and some shirts from Welovefine. I'm also on the lookout for individual blindbags, and I will complete my collection of the Mane 6.

If they released more show accurate merchandise, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I would also buy Discord and Nightmare Moon, as well as current mold versions of Derpy, Lyra and Bon-Bon, Dr. Whooves, Mayor Mare, Screwball, and all the other fan favorites.

I think a lot of Bronies would buy merch like that, even if they don't buy the current toys.

      ReplyDelete
    41. I think these (poorly translated) summaries of the toys are clues as to what we'll see in the show. $20 says Princess Cadence is voiced by Nicole or Tabitha.

      ReplyDelete
    42. Another note (depending the translation): You don't know how hard it is to translate texts, which are full of puns and slang (especially dropped grammar), staying authentical to the original.

      ReplyDelete
    43. An interesting peek into what's coming down the line toywise. Guess we'll get even more info come the NY ver.
