Once again, Hasbro has come to YOU for advice on their new pony side series that specifically focuses on a single pony. They want it to target the younger male demographic this time around, so hearts and hugging may be something to avoid!
Do you expand upon Daring Do? Exploring ancient temples littered with traps while being chased down by Nazis? (Please no aliens...)
Or maybe you want to follow one of the mane cast on an epic adventure across Equestria?
The choice is yours! Choose a pony, and summarize your idea.

Pony side series will be awesome.
ReplyDeleteTRRRRRRRRRRRIXIE!~!
ReplyDeleteTHE RAINBOW DASH SHOW!
ReplyDeleteWHERE rd does badass awesome stuffs because she loves fun things!
Oh, man. A Daring Do series would be awesome. I cast my vote for that.
ReplyDeleteohgodohgodohgod that would be awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI'd totally watch a Daring Do side serie !
ReplyDeleteBut scootaloo still needs an episode
ReplyDeleteWill it be something I can watch on Youtube, or will it be a comic or something?
ReplyDeleteDARING DO FTW!
ReplyDeleteAn expansion on Daring Do would be fine as far as I'm concerned, as long as it stays more pony than parody.
ReplyDeleteIt would obviously be the Adventures of Derpy Hooves! With the side characters of Doctor Whooves, Scratch, Octavia, Bon-Bon & Lyra.
ReplyDeleteDont say anything about targeting a specific demographic, because were still talking ponies here.
Doctor Whooves and his adventures through Time and Space!
ReplyDeleteClearly Octavinyl, Octavia and Vinyl needs to be cannon, dammit! I suggest using the Vinyl Scratch Tapes people as voice actors
ReplyDeleteThe pinkie pie show
ReplyDeleteOr the RAINBOW DASH SHOW! That would work too
ReplyDeleteDerpy shorts.
ReplyDeleteA mare do well series would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteI think derpy would be a good candidate for younger males, she would provide silliness and such that boys would find amusing. Daring Do would be another good option.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I have no imagination :C
ReplyDeleteWorld Building
ReplyDeleteLuna vs. The Moon Nazis.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do would be really awesome.
ReplyDeleteBut...I would really like to see a source for this.
I find it exceptionally...strange, sounding.
Derpy or Daring would be nice :D
ReplyDeleteDoctor Whooves!
ReplyDeleteTHE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE!
ReplyDeleteDerpy or Daring would be nice :D
ReplyDeleteBrony in Equstria
ReplyDeleteThey should make a series that takes place a thousand years ago with Celestia, Luna (and eventually Nightmare Moon), and Discord.
ReplyDeleteIt can be like Game of Thrones... FOR KIDS! :D
I'd say that if the Daring Do books were made into real books, I'd certainly buy them.

ReplyDeleteGotta love Daring Do. We need more of her!
ReplyDeleteDaring Do has some serious potential, something telling how Zecora came to Ponyville could also be really cool
ReplyDeleteDaring Do side series would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteCount me in for "DARING DO"
ReplyDeleteand Doctor Whooves if the BBC says ok.
I know! A Cheers spin off with the Background ponies! Octavia, Vinyl, Rose, Carrot Top, and all the gang hanging out and having sitcom type fun.
ReplyDelete@Fruckert I'm pretty sure it's just a hypothetical question.
ReplyDeletePinkie Pie 's rise and fall and phoenix like recovery as a pop musician in Equestria
ReplyDeleteHasbro asking if we want more pony?
ReplyDeleteYES PLEASE! =D
As long as its still takes place in Equestria and is done with the same love and care as the regular show then absolutely.
Side series based slightly on the fanfic progress LUNA

ReplyDelete@Fruckert
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't think this is real. Just a discussion post where we can post whatever.
Nonetheless, I would have to say probably Daring Do. Or maybe a series about the Wonderbolts.
Two suggestions:
ReplyDeleteA Royal Guards pony, either sent on missions outside of canterlot or shown on his daily duties. We know pretty much nothing about these, and it would be "military" and therefore "manly", I guess.
Zecora, maybe backstory of her live before coming to Ponyville or her live in the Everfree Forest. Again, we know little about what she actually does there or what else lives in the forest.
So as long as there's no 'Daring Do And The Wicker Mare'
ReplyDeleteDoctor Whooves and his adventures of setting up events in the future, such as framing Princess Luna as a tyrannical monster obsessed with making eternal night.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see something reminiscent of Frisky Dingo, a kind of comedy superhero/supervillain thing.
ReplyDeleteDerpy would play the role of the inept hero who battles a series of odd villains based on other background characters. Vinyl Scratch could have sonic powers that can crumble walls, Carrot Top could have plant powers like Poison Ivy from Batman, and Bon-Bon could have explosive candies as weapons.
"The Adventures of Derpy Hooves"?
ReplyDeleteHold on, I'm going to get some more money to throw at my screen...
P.S. Daring Do is a good option too.
I would support a Daring Do side series heavily. Pony based serial throwbacks? Hell yes!
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I'd watch ANY of them regardless... I vote for a Trixie adventure. You know she has to get into bad situations.
ReplyDeleteEither background characters, badass male Elements, or Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteIt's be cool to see some background characters get a side series. Like Whooves or Lyra and BonBon.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do would be pretty superultrawesomazing, though.
Inb4 some of the bronies out there try to ruin this one in a lifetime chance for us all
ReplyDeleteThe Amazing Travels of Derpy Hooves. It would be awesome in every way, even if isn't necessarily parallel to the fanon.
ReplyDeleteAlso, a series that focuses on Luna and Celestia's sisterly relationship through the years would be good to. Maybe try a new art style with that, sort of like a western Okami like style or like Samurai Jack.
Do something with Spike. Spike could use an episode. Have him going through a "coming of age" kind of moment.
ReplyDeleteThe misadventures of Trixie or Daring Do.
ReplyDeletePlus we could have Luna traveling around making friends. Nothing to male orient, as we are already watching this stuff.
Daring Do meets Doctor Whooves in the Infinity Quest.
ReplyDeleteMission Accomplished
mmm Daring Do would be cool also a Dr Whooves series with Derpy in it... or also the mane 6 across Equestria... oh god the awesomeness of every single idea is to much to handle
ReplyDeleteThey could do something like Disney did with Darkwing Duck. Remember how they borrowed Launchpad from DuckTales (an established series at the time) and made him Darkwing's sidekick? Yeah, something like that.
ReplyDeleteThis is a purely theoretical exercise, right?
ReplyDeleteBecause the post implies (presumably unintentionally) that this is an actual thing.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteOr Luna on the moon, that would be fun too.
ReplyDeleteI like the daring do idea.
ReplyDeleteOr an episode where it all makes sense at the end. I love those...
THE ADVENTURES OF DERPY AND DOCTOR WHOOVES!
ReplyDeleteWith side characters such as... LYRA.... BON BON..... COLGATE..... OCTAVIA..... VINYL SRATCH and many more!
Daring Do? Daring Do works. You could have Daring Do collect magical artifacts across Equestria or the planet they inhabit with dark forces attempting to do the same. And there could be a supporting characters that have knowledge in magic to counteract Daring's knowledge of archeology. So... basically Jackie Chan Adventures with Daring Do. I have been watching that cartoon way too much.
ReplyDeleteI vote for a Daring Doo series. I think that would be a fun TV show, and a fun book series, and a fun comic, and a fun toy line and...
ReplyDeleteBut yeah Hasbro, you guys should DEFFINANTLY give Daring-Do her own series, ecspecially if your wanting somthing more male oriented.
I would support a series with Doctor Whooves, Derpy and Daring Do teaming up to fight evil.
ReplyDeleteStill want that Lyra and Bonbon sitcom. Just saying
ReplyDeleteDaring Do side series? OMIGOSH ALL OF MY MONEY!
ReplyDeleteSweet Mac and Hella Spike
ReplyDeleteDaring Do would be amazing!
ReplyDeleteSeth, if this is just hypothetical, this Trixie plushy gets it.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I choose Derpy/Trixie. They are characters just waiting to be developed further.
The Adventures of Commander Hurricane and the Pegasus Army. Bonus points if they have to face up against Lord Discord of Equestria, at least in some episodes.
ReplyDeleteDeffinately Daring Do, I would buy and read those books. I don't really read books either.
ReplyDeleteI think if we are going for an equal demographic for boys I think it might be a good idea to try the Equestrian Guards.
ReplyDeleteMaybe instead of love and tolerance it could promote perserverance, integrity, trust, or something along those lines...
Or we could just have Michael Bay take a shot at it
Oh god, please let it be Daring Do... or if not, Applejack :D
ReplyDeleteDaring Do, definitely. Something that would compliment FiM without playing favorites with any of the mane 6 or clashing with it in any way.
ReplyDeleteSomething that either follows the earlier history of equestria while focusing on Luna's transformation into nightmare moon, or a Daring Do spinoff would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI think if we are going for an equal demographic for boys I think it might be a good idea to try the Equestrian Guards.
ReplyDeleteMaybe instead of love and tolerance it could promote perserverance, integrity, trust, or something along those lines...
Or we could just have Michael Bay take a shot at it
Daring-Do would be good! c8
ReplyDeleteI've already got a bunch of ideas for Daring-Do adventures~ cx
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWe need to know the adventures of the Great and Powerful Trixie
ReplyDeletePerhaps as a suggestion, tell the tale of Celestia and Nightmare Moon. What, exactly, did happen that forced Celestia's hoof to banish her to the moon for eternity?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure this is just a hypothetical discussion that Seth came up with.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, I highly doubt that Hasbro is actually doing this.
I'd love a Daring Do side series. :D
ReplyDeleteFor the suggested demographic I think a Daring Doo series would work out very well. I think it would work better for young boys than a series built around any of the Mane Six.
ReplyDeleteOk, yeah, the should totally go with Daring Do. The fine folks at TV Tropes have done a lot of the work for them too. They could just adapt what's there, and have a show. I'd totally love to watch that.
ReplyDeleteI agree with anyone that has or will say "doctor whooves"
ReplyDeleteThe disappointment will be great when people realize this is a hypothetical question, not an actual thing.
ReplyDeleteHasbro would be really stupid to ask that, after all the fuzz they make about avoiding anything that comes from the fandom for legal reasons.
But in case I'm wrong and this is real:
ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh
Daring Do and the indestructible refrigerator.
ReplyDeletedaring do side series :D
ReplyDeleteDaring Doo would be a perfect fit for a side story!
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I fully, 100% and utterly endorse Daring Do, to the point that I'm wondering why my monies are not being absorbed into the monitor screen to produce such a thing.
ReplyDeleteExpanding on daring Do I think i probably the best and simplest to do.
ReplyDeleteHow about: Trixie becomes a P.I. in Manehatten?
ReplyDeleteWorking against the scum of the equestrian underworld personified in Don Coltone and his nefarious henchman Crime Alley. Her only help are her two secretaries and errand-boys Snips and Snails and the brave cop/piano player Long Arm.
Will G.P. Trixie, P.I. stay on her illfated quest, or will she succumb to the promises of fame and fortune only the Don can offer?
Damn, I need to write this....
I think they should make a completely new character and set it back in time, perhaps before the rise of Nightmare Moon but sometime after Hearths Warming Eve. I'm thinking a night in shining armor that has been sent out to explore and help tame the wild lands or rescue a princess or some such knightly actions.
ReplyDeleteIf not that though Daring Doo, Vinyl Scratch, Trixie or even Derpy Hooves would work. Probably not Doctor Whooves because then you run into legal problems with the BBC and stuff, seems like it would be a big hassle. Vinyl or Daring seem like the best choices to me for a younger male audience because what young boy these days doesn't like hearing about adventures or the life of a DJ. Trixie could also work but then you run into the problems of her being a total snob and stuff so it would probably have to be her becoming the magician she was or after ponyville when she starts to see the error of her ways.
Just my opinion though.
Anything with say a pairing of background ponies (Bonbon/Lyra - Derpy/Dr.Whooves - Etc.), Daring-Do, or Luna would be fine in my eyes. If you did the adventures of one of the villains, especially the ones that travel around a lot (like Trixie), that would be excellent to me personally. Just throwing my 2-bits in. ^_^
ReplyDeleteSomething involving the adventures of Pinkie's sisters would be pretty cool imo. As would a Wonderbolts spinoff series
ReplyDeleteMake this a poll, Seth!
ReplyDeletePrincess Luna or Princess Celestia.
ReplyDeleteHow about following the adventures of the unluckiest Royal Guard in Equestria. This way it's inclusive to the target young male audience, and also explore the lore behind Equestria. It also gives opportunities to meet other side characters, like Trixie and Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteI think having a royal guard pony that constantly attracts Trouble could provide some hilarious entertainment and action opportunities.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletei would love a daring do series but they should do a mini series focusing on the common background ponies like lyra and bonbon
ReplyDeleteI would be interested to see a more adventure style side story thing about the Cutie Mark Crusaders and a few of their friends. Perhaps they could explore all of equestria.
ReplyDeleteOr they really could do a daring do side story show thing, they could put daring into the same "canon universe" as the MLP show. Then dash could meet her, strange adventures could happen, and doesn't hasbro own D&D? using content, dungeons and creatures from that (but a little less scary if its for a younger demographic)for content.
Daring-Do, most definitely. What @Shingo said.
ReplyDeleteI would totally love a Daring Do or Derpy series.
ReplyDeleteI'd probably want to do something like "It's a Dangerous Business, Going Out Your Door". Take a couple (or just focus on one) of the main six, then go on some crazy big adventure. Meet other cultures, dive into how the world works, etc. I'd probably pick Applejack to star in this, as she seems the kind who would deal with going on a giant quest and living away from civilization the best. I think it would actually be better to do something like what Dangerous Business did though, and have one of each of the pony races. That would allow better exploration of some themes. If there's a unicorn, they could go more in-depth into how the magic of other species works, and so forth.
ReplyDeleteThey should do a show about Rainbow discovering Daring Do was a real pony and following in her footsteps through ancient tombs and temples and stuff, featuring frequent swaps between present day Rainbow Dash (complete with Solid Snake headband) and past times Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteI vote for a time jump. Specifically, following Spike after he's grown up a bit. You could tie back to the original characters (who would be less girly since they're grown up) and do more adventure stories.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, you could totally have him travelling with the Cutie Mark Crusaders as they apprentice under Daring Do with the help of Derpy and the Doctor (whoa, that's a lot of D's).
Point being, I think that the main characters have more potential since they're more developed but still young, and letting them adventure in the future as older characters would be flippin' awesome.
"Avoid hearts and hugging"!? Never! That is why we love ponies!
ReplyDeleteAs for a single pony... not one of the mane 6. I don't want to see them seperated from the group. I would say Dr. Whooves, but that would have a whole host of problems (Copyright, target audience, etc.) if it were a real show.
So I say an adaptation of the Vinyl Scratch tapes. Or Daring Do works too. Any pony is good pony :D
Trixie / Lyra / Bon-Bon and Lyra / Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteWait, so is this serious or just for fun?
ReplyDeleteEither way, if Hasbro wants a side-series that targets young male viewers, how about Spike? He's a young male, and he's a dragon!
DRAGONS! They're awesome, and guys love them!
If not Spike, then perhaps a new dragon character? After all, Twilight hatched a dragon egg for her entrance exam, so maybe there might have been more of the same?
I DID have this one idea for a dragon and a male pony. The dragon does nice things and is almost like a servant, while the pony is sort of distant and keeps the dragon under his hoof. The dragon does not mind serving the pony, and is in fact at his happiest when he's doing nice things for others, and is upset when someone is upset, even with those who hate him. I wanted to have this "hidden depths" sort of thing with the pony, in that he discovered the dragon as a baby, and was afraid of the dragon's "dragon instinct", so he basically surpressed them by having the dragon live a life of serving others and getting joy out of it. But through it all, he DOES care for the dragon, and tries to do what's best for him, while still trying to combat his fear of him. What do you think?
...Okay, yeah, you said choose a pony, but I think dragons would be a lot more appealing to young boys than ponies.
I think you should make a surver for this.
ReplyDeleteI vote for a Lyra/Bon Bon side story.
Daring Do is probably the strongest candidate for a main character, though the whole thing is a bit cliche. I for one would recommend creating an entirely new character, use the opportunity to explore a different area of the same universe.
ReplyDeleteSpitfire and the Wonderbolts!
ReplyDeleteSomething western-themed would be nice, like in "Over a barrel" ep.
ReplyDeleteThat, or Daring Do.
What about a different point of a pony growing up when Luna turned into Nightmare Moon, and said pony becomes a member of the Shadowbolts, and sees the terror being caused until they go against Nightmare Moon
ReplyDeleteum.... call me paranoid, but is this kosher? What's the source? Are we sure we're not being trolled?
ReplyDelete@Vipera
ReplyDeleteShadowbolts
Needs more Luna.
ReplyDeleteCenter the series on the wonderbolts and various adventures. How did they become the greatest fliers in all of Equestria and their first responders against Dragon Attacks? They have potential
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and that opens up a whole lot of material with Spike figuring out what it means to be a dragon and what not. Spike would be an awesome main character when he grows up.
ReplyDelete(Been a huge fan since I read It Takes a Village on fimfiction)
See, Friendship is Magic works because they are just doing what they do.. now they are TRYING to make it a certain way and I don't think that's going to work as well.
ReplyDeleteCMC Adventures for the win.
Is everyone saying Daring Do because it was the header? Nobody wants a Mare Do Well show?
Soarin the Wonderbolt!
ReplyDeletethe formation of the greatest team in Equestria the Wonderbolts focused around Soarin. His friend spitfire and how they became part of the team.
Sure this is more than one pony but I don't care. The Adventures of Spike, Big Mac, and Doctor Hooves.
ReplyDeleteIf you are messing with us Seth I will be very dissapointed.
ReplyDeleteYou guys should team up with Doctor Who for a Doctor Who/FiM crossover. Doctor Whooves with Derpy as his companion. /)^3^(\ Daring Do would also be awesome. (No Aliens please)
ReplyDeleteDaring Do or Rainbow Dash xD
ReplyDelete"Sweet and Elite" showed that Rarity could carry an entire episode herself, so why not a whole series?
ReplyDeleteThe show, titled the same as the episode, would follow Rarity's activities in Canterlot and interacting with the higher class. There would be no adventures and the show's conflicts would be created by her opinions on fashion and her business.
I say Princesses Celestia and Luna and how they got their rise to power. We have the creation of Equestria story, we need the epic tail of how they rose to power! If not how about the story of Luna's banishment with epic fights 'n such.
ReplyDelete@comickid
ReplyDeleteWhat about the Wonderbolts versus The Shadowbolts?
Not like a good vs. evil bit like a race series?
It could open up for new characters
Anything about Luna! MOAR LUNA!
ReplyDeleteMaking an animation of
http://www.fimfiction.net/story/505/One-Way
would be a good choice!
Did nopony read the instruction that it's for younger males? Daring Do would probably appeal to the boys, but would be considered a "girls" show like Sailor Moon.
ReplyDeleteI say make it about the Wonderbolts. You've already got a team there with a mixture of male and female cast. Have them compete against other teams in races or shows or something. Boys love a good competition show like Speed Racer, Pokemon, or Yugioh. Then they can fight crime or solve mysteries or something. Rainbow Dash would pop up from time to time and Soarin would do stupid things to try to impress her.
I'm going to have to definitely agree with going for Daring Do as an expanded series. They have something there where they can easy expand on the adventure aspect of the theme. Not only that, but if they wanted to they could connect it (Sort of) to the main series by having clips of Rainbow Dash reacting to the stories that she's reading. Not only that, but because it IS all just part of a story, anything they make in that other series won't effect the main series at all. FiM can be kept 'pure' as it were.
ReplyDeleteJust for the love of Celestia, do NOT make it Derpy. -.-; Cripe, I'm so sick of that.
A side series of Daring Do would be awesome, also one maybe of Lyra, Bon Bon and Derpy having their own adventures.
ReplyDeleteThough I wouldn't mind seeing more of the history of Equestria so another on the Princesses as they were growing up.
I could so see a Derpy Series, but the way hasbro made out Daring Do to be, majority rules... it works... It's going to probably be it... Still would watch it!
ReplyDeleteSet it during Equestria's past...
ReplyDeleteAnd Its' all about Discord, his antics, and trolling the hay out of Celestia and Luna.
I would find it hilarious, but Hasbro would have to do some convincing in their part to get John De Lancie back on.
@Foxtrot
ReplyDeleteIt's a hypothetical discussion^^
Well, Daring Do is the most obvious choice.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I'm going to stray from the norm and say, "Gila, after breaking off her friendship with Dash, goes on a soul-searching quest in order to find peace within herself. Not after long, an adolescent dragon named "Fireball" and a Diamond dog named "Max" tag along as she travels across Equestria and beyond. Along the way, they'll encounter samurais, cowboys, psychos, monsters, and even revolutions during their travels."
WAIT NO!! forget my previous vote. i totally want to see a DERPY side story.
ReplyDeleteI could go for more episodes like Hearth's Warming Eve, theatre plays performed by ponies.
ReplyDeleteThat or a Felt-Animation show. Short skits designed to kill you with Diabetes.
I cant say whether it would make for a full series, but just an observation:
ReplyDeletePrincess Celestia has ruled for a thousand years before the series starts. NOT taking into account what Equestria was like before that, she had to have had some great adventures, being that there are DRAGONS, at the very least.
A powerful God-pony protecting her kingdom from all sorts of mythological dangers, and her arch-enemy is her evil sister? Sign me up
I would enjoy a Daring-Do series. Set it in a land other than Equestria but still with ponies and do about 5-6 episodes per "book".
ReplyDeleteTrixie, Daring Do, Braeburn, and a lot of the other side characters would make excellent candidates for side characters.
ReplyDeleteDARING DO!!!!
ReplyDeleteApplejack's cousin Braeburn in Appleloosa. And his adventures in the west with the buffalos, definitly including Little Strongheart. Some episodes will be dealing with the dangers of this land and some episodes will deal with getting along better with each other. They are two vastly different peoples so there's gonna be some headbutting. Since it's a western setting boys will like that.
ReplyDeleteOh god!! They could do the adventures of Dr. Whooves and Derpy Hooves through time and space. They could even use it to teach kids some history :3
ReplyDeleteOr they could do the adventures of Daring a la Indiana style. In her quest to find the mystical gem of the alicorn before her biggest nemesis Dr. Griffonium does.
.... or something like that...
Daring Do would be awesome, but as she's a girl, would it really appeal to boys? *looks at bronies* Of course it would.
ReplyDeleteWonderbolts. 'Nuff said.
ReplyDelete@AL
ReplyDeleteOMG I'd so watch that. That'd be THE. BEST. POSSIBLE. THING!
@Shuber92 *Gilda
ReplyDelete(Buck my spelling!)
Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteOr Fallout Equestria on [adult swim].
Zecora! We don't know anything about where she comes from and everyone loves a shaman! We could get some world building by way of Zecora's homeland and character development for everyone's favourite zebra.
ReplyDeleteThen again, I'd like to see something set in Canterlot. Maybe about the princesses! Celestia and Luna's royal duties! I don't know what they do aside from read letters and/or move celestial bodies around.
Also Daring Do. Heck yeah.
I say some sort of Mare-Do-Well superhero spin-off thing with a load of crazy villans and screwball as a joker kind of character.
ReplyDeleteOctavia and Vinyl Scratch sharing an apartment together a'la the Odd Couple.
ReplyDeleteMy Little Pony: War is Upon Us (not meant to be taken seriously)
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria...
There once ruled the Reindinhal Empire. A country far to the north of Equestria. At one time long before ponies came to Equestria they had expanded their borders to include it along with many of the surrounding countries. Lead by their great leaders and the God of Battle - A Black Serpent dragon by the name of Davarle - they ruled the land with an iron hoof.
Reindinhal's strength came from their diversity. Reindinhal is composed of the Reindeer, Moose, and Large Eagles (like out of Lord of the Rings). Nothing could stand against them. Until one day.
They had come at a standstill when they pursued assault on the Griffin Kingdom and the land of the Ibex. Failing to conquer either one, the two formed an alliance and lead their own assault driving back Reindinhal to their homeland far north.
5000 years have passed, and Reindinhal is still war-like. Never having learned the harmony of friendship or any sort.
Now, they're ready for another campaign upon the world. Davarle has gained influence over many of the dragons in the world to join Reindinhal in their campaign. And now Equestria and the surrounding kingdoms must fight back. For their own sake.
Reindinhal basically looks like Skyrim for those wondering.
@mrsteroids
ReplyDeletei second this! derpy side story!
I would love to see another awesome Rainbow Dash episode. For example an episode where Rainbow Dash teaches Scootaloo how to fly and in the end Rainbow will find the little sister in Scootaloo she never had
ReplyDeletePinkie's Quest to break the 4th wall.
ReplyDeleteHmm... I have a lot of ideas, but the two main ones would have to be...
ReplyDelete1. More Daring Doo. She has her own book series that spans like, what, fifty plus books? Yes please!
2. More two-part adventures. I really enjoyed "Friendship is Magic" and "The Return of Harmony." Character development and the world becoming engolfed in darkness. Fun stuff. Even with an epic adventure there needs to be as much humor as possible, either puns, off the wall, whatever.
So where do we submit ideas then?
ReplyDeleteDaring Do would definitely be an awesome side-story.
ReplyDeleteAlso perhaps something about the founders of Equestria, maybe....
Soar'ns past, How did he come to be a part of the Wonderbolts? does the pie mean anything other than he gets hungry after a show?
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it, they easiest way to avoid continuity issues and/or fanbase fannon flame wars, would be to create new ponies to follow.
ReplyDeleteFor the more male oriented, perhaps they could follow the soldiers. They are obviously apart of the cannon already, and as they could 'battle' forces trying to harm or take over equestria, then the action drive that most boy shows aim for could be achieved.
Simple episode could have a patrol going through the mountains and they encounter a roudy bunch of Diamond Dogs wanting to put the ponies to work hauling their carts.
With all the monsters that are already cannon, there is endless forces that can be encountered and battled against. And as its ponies, the battles could be simple boot to the face clobbering style.
This is my idea for Hasbro to expand their universe.
Dear sethisto,
ReplyDeleteplease provide a poll.
your faithful fan,
rdoung1
An epic journey across equestria!
ReplyDeleteErm. Sorry to be that guy, but source?
ReplyDeleteI thought Faust's idea was that MLP should appeal to everyone, and that the idea of "boy's entertainment/girl's entertainment" was an outdated, sexist thing. Wouldn't making a side series that was supposed to appeal to boys damage the original concept?
ReplyDeleteStill, a Daring Do line of books would be awesome, provided they don't change her gender. Or, make the Cutie Mark Crusaders into a spinoff show for the preschool set like Faust wanted anyway.
Daring Do, Mare-Do-Well - and cross-overs with them both!
ReplyDeleteWhat about....
ReplyDeleteCatasrophe's adventure
Discord may be the lord of chaos, but he is the bringer of destruction.
Cursed at an early age, he feels the pain of others as natural disasters or pony made accidents cause harm to others spirits or souls.
He travels the land looking for the only creatures that can save him, The Fourponys of the Apocalypse, as only they, War,Famine,Pestilence, and Death, can save him.
Please don't be messing with me Seth.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Appleloosa cowponies?
Boys like cowboys.
It would be the most ironic thing.
Maybe a story involving the Big Letrotsky and friends or Daring Do in a Indiana Jones/James Bond like show. o_q I dunno, even a Mare-Do-Well series in the style of Batman, The Animated Series. ._q
ReplyDeleteThe possibilities are infinite. And not necessarily needs to be focused on the mane 6.
I'd vote for a Daring Do series with Derpy as Daring's bumbling sidekick. Hopefully the other background ponies could get worked into the story in some way too, like having Lyra/Bonbon be friendly rival explorers, Doctor Whooves being himself, etc.
ReplyDeleteI'm doubtful that this is legit... Seth Probably just came up with it I can't Imagine Studio B has the spare time with how much effort they have to put into this show alone. In either case I may go through it again and tally up the votes if i get hit with insomnia again lol
ReplyDeleteDaring Do is the best option here. This Demographic likes Action... When we were kids most of us watched Dragon ball Z, Courage the cowardly Dog, Freakazoid, Justice League, Dexter's Laboratory, Jackie Chan Adventures and even the PPGs (and so many more). All of which has Action in them. All of the aforementioned (except maybe DL) has clear enemies. Good VS Evil. That stuff. Daring Do obviously fits as the hero, Shes got a villain who's name I've conveniently forgot, And shes going on daring adventures across forbidden tombs, collecting rare magical artifacts...
It'll require some serious attention from the marketers... as little boys would never embrace a small colorful pony very easily... It will have to be advertised as butt kicking fun, Rather than cute.
Its possible... Still... forever unlikely
Somebody pinch me, this can't possibly be real, can it? For all the folks that want to see MLP continue, this is just an amazing announcement.
ReplyDeleteAs far as which pony to follow, I'd say it would most likely be Rainbow Dash, or more likely Daring Do. Both of them are the most action-oriented ponies we've seen so far, though of the two Daring Do would be more likely to go on a solo adventure (Considering that's what she does, whereas Rainbow Dash helps out her friends in Ponyville)
Oh god I still can't believe this.
Derpy Hooves's Bizarre Adventure
ReplyDeleteIf they made those Daring Do books from TVTropes into an actual series, it would be the best thing ever!
ReplyDeleteAlternate ideas:
- Doctor, Derpy and Dinky having adventures in different places and times
- Trixie travelling the world
- A musical themed slice-of-life series with Octavia and Vinyl
- Anything with Luna
- CMC spin-off
Discord back story?
ReplyDeleteThis is all theoretics of course. If they really were making a side series you'd hear something from the brony spys watching the animators.
ReplyDeleteIf it weren't for the copious legal problems with it, a Doctor Whooves show would be fantastic, and I'm sure younger boys could get a kick out of it.
ReplyDeleteAs for a show that would be easier to make, a Wonderbolts series might be fun, having Spitfire or one of the other mentioned ones going about their life.
I feel like a CMC show would be wicked, but I don't think little boys would be interested.
I don't know what to think about this.
ReplyDeleteSo many choices and so many ponies a-plenty...
ReplyDeleteDaring Do would be awesome, but RD I'm digging too.
Can we have a daredevil duo?
Otherwise I'd like to have a series devoted to DJ Pon3's struggle to become the number one DJ in Equestria.
@Luxin_Nocte
ReplyDeleteyes but it purports to originate from Hasbro. That's what I'm suspicious about. If I'm proved wrong I would be the happiest brony alive.
Well a series staring the mane background ponies, Lyra, Bonbon, Derpy, Dr. Whooves, Octavia, and DJ-Pon-3 would be epic. However since it's only 1 pony the answer is obvious, TRIXIE! It could follow her after her Ursa Minor defeat traveling around Equestria. Although I really think just a single character is too limiting and please no Daring Do I mean I like her, but an entire series is way too much.
ReplyDeleteZecora has my vote, but Daring Doo would also be pretty cool
ReplyDeleteHm if it has Alternate Universe Rarity is in the Darling Doo series, I approve!
ReplyDeleteA Doctor Whooves series wherein he does stuff that kinda connects with episodes from the main show, like "this happened because I did this", or maybe a Daring Do series with the background characters from MLP as supporting characters.
ReplyDeleteyou guys are all crazy. SPIKE! he's a dragon! he's close enough to the mane 6 for his series to lock in step with the canon.
ReplyDeleteDaring Do, for obvious reasons.
ReplyDeleteMare do Well, same.
CMC, why?
Well, I think they do A LOT more than what we get to see.
I'm probably a minority in this, but how about a series focusing on Pipsqueak? He could be having dreams about his adventures as Pipsqueak the Pirate?
ReplyDeleteAaaahhhh, forget my previous post. I really can't decide which one I want, I want all of them!
ReplyDeleteHey this is Rainbow Dash, and welcome to Jackass!
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be a pony traveling across equestria in the same time the main 6 are in ponyvile. So it probably woudn't be Trixie, or ponyville residents such as Lyra, Bonbon or Derpy. What it could be is Daring Do but she is a fictional pony in a book, meaning they would have to establish that the books were actually non-fiction accounts of her adventures. So we are left with 2 choices Daring Do's adventures or Princess Luna as she travels equestria. either way OMG more ponies FTW :D
ReplyDeleteHmm, ponies for little boys eh? How about Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolts are actually part of a top secret organization working directly for Celestia to fight against a terrorist organization? Basically, GI-Joe with ponies. Other than that, maybe Transformers with ponies.
ReplyDeleteI don't really know if ponies are the best thing to market to young boys. Sure, we are a great audience, but we know better now than to judge pink ponies. Daring Do might work well, though I don't know if a boy would enjoy watching a female character do "boy stuff". Well, you can't go wrong with secret organizations. They are, after all, a load of butt fun.
WHERE CAN I SEND IT IN
ReplyDeleteDaring Do, definitely!
ReplyDeleteThough a gritty (Batman esque) mare-do-well could work. (would have to break canon though)
I am looking forward to something with Daring Do.
ReplyDeleteOr any other side character.
Tough Choice.
ReplyDeleteDaring, Pinkie, Derpy, and Doctor Hooves would likely all be good candidates.

ReplyDeleteI think either a Daring Do show that follows her adventures obviously (maybe as read by Rainbow Dash?) would be amazing! Either that or some adventures of Rainbow Dash, maybe in parallel to Daring Do's adventures. Those two are probably the best characters to appeal directly to a young male audience, as they turn the coolness factor way up from the rest of the ponies, and tend to avoid too much of the 'sappy stuff' as Rainbow Dash would put it, which would be good for boys.
ReplyDeleteMy seven year old godbrother loves the show and Rainbow Dash, but since she's already part of the mane six, I'd say that Daring Do would be an excellent choice for a series for young boys. Otherwise, Snips, Snails and Spike would make an interesting comic trio for a spin off. :P
ReplyDeleteDaring Do and Mare-Do-Well are definately characters with enough freedom to form an own independent show from MLP:FiM.
ReplyDeleteI also thought of own stories around the Griffon's Kingdom! It would surely not be too "girly" to be not accepted by the younger males.
